The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha

Without having to turn, Alexandra could put a name to that familiar voice echoing in her ear, tensing up as she attempts to turn but on second thought comports herself, breathing out.

"A penny for your thought"

She licks her lips, moaning softly. "What are you doing here?"

"I came looking for you"

"I told you to go" she states hastily turning around

He laughs. "You were thinking about me just now"

Realizing it was just his imagination, she taps on the space beside her and he

walks closer to her and reclines next to her.

"Everything turned out the way you wanted" Nathaniel states

"I became the Alpha"

"Is what you wanted"

"Is what I wanted"

"Now you get to lead your pack the way you want"

"Yea" she smiles but it didn't reach her eyes which didn't go unnoticed by Nathaniel

"What's wrong?"

"Is nothing" she stares into space

"Talk to me"

"I wanted this so much and now I got it, I just... I just feel scared"

"Why? This is what you wanted or don't you want it again?"

"Of course, I want it so much"

"Then what's wrong?"

"What if I mess up? What if I can't handle everything? What if -"

"Hey is going to be Alright" He smiles and Alexandra imagines him holding her

hand. "I know I don't know much about being an Alpha since am just an

imagination but I'm sure you will have a great beta and all to support and help you out when it gets difficult"

"He offered to help me out"

"Who?"

"Nathaniel"

"And?"

"I told him I would think about it"

He shakes his head disapprovingly. "What's there to think about?"

"How?".

"Just say yes"

"Should I?"

"Of course, you should, is Nathaniel, your mate"

"You are right"

"Call him now!"

"What! No, I can't call him now"

"Why?"

She glances around playing with her hair while trying to form the right words. "I'm trying to play hard to get so if I just call now it will mean that I didn't think it through while I told him that I was going to think it through"

"You sure did," He says, unfazed.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Well is you, When something good is in front of you, you just want to ruin it by wasting time. If Nathaniel wasn't your mate, I'm certain any lady would want his attention"

"Any lady"

"Yes"

"And what about me?"

"Well it doesn't seem like you want me"

Alexandra rolls her eyes. "You sound as if you are him"

"I'm him, maybe not technically"

"You are not," she laughs. "You are just the perfect annoying imagination of him,"

she says, causing him to laugh hysterically.

"I'm annoying"

"Yes, hasn't anyone told you?"

"No one has since you are the only one that can see me"

"Which is why you should believe me"

"I don't since your judgment should be biased"

"I'm an Alpha I can't make a wrong judgment"

"That's true, you should never make a wrong judgment which is why you should let him help you"

Alexandra gawks at him unbelievably, she never thought he would find a way around.

"You know how to play it"

"And I play it well, don't I? Let him help you, it will be fun, and besides what's there to lose?"

"You are right, there is absolutely nothing to lose with just a little help but we will set boundaries"

"What sort?"

"No offense to the real you but he's kinda a pain which is why I need to set boundaries"

"Always playing hard to get"

"I'm complex that's all which is something you cannot understand"

"Try me"

"Just forget it" she looks down, trying to figure out what to do next as a lot of

things run through her mind.

"What are you thinking?"

"Is time for you to go"

"You want me to go," Nathaniel states, bewildered.

"Yes"

"Oh okay"

"Aren't you going to ask me why as Nathaniel would have"noveldrama

"I'm not Nathaniel, I mean we are the same person but I am only an imagination

and I figured you may be overwhelmed and need to be alone"

"No I want to stop thinking about Nathaniel for a while, I think about it all the time, and is driving me insane"

"Isn't that a good thing?"

"No! Of course not, are you crazy? He's my mate and we... we are only..." she pauses refraining from completing her statement

"We are what?"

"We are only getting married on agreement"

"I don't understand, I thought he was your real mate"

"He is" she bites her lower lips gently "we only decided to be in a marriage agreement so he can only be my mate on the agreement and nothing more so please I don't need to think about him and seeing you makes me think about him more and more"

"Ouch! That hurts"

"I'm sorry you are always there when I need you but I need to help myself by thinking about my pack and this position. I'm the Alpha now and that's all I need to

be thinking about consistently. Nathaniel would only make things complicated"

"Does that mean you would reject his offer to help you?"

"Of course not, I would not"

"I would accept his help but there will be boundaries. He will not go around doing

things

"Things like kissing you"

"You're blunt but yea"

"Nathaniel would never do that. He would never do anything that makes you lose face in front of your pack members or be criticized. He cares about you a lot and knows what this position means to you"

"I know I just need to do this for myself and no one else"

"I'll leave but I hope you remember that Nathaniel is always there for you so do not think such nonsense, it will only damage what you two have"

Before Alexandra could say another word, he fades away and she blinks her eyes, tears crowding her eyes since she had not expected to hear him say that. Nathaniel wanted the best for her and Guerrero pack and no matter how she looked at it, he was on her side.

"Nathaniel is always by my side" She mutters standing up, a lightning bolt strikes through the sky causing Alexandra to glance up.

"Is it going to rain or what?" While the words were yet in her mouth, heavy rain begins to pour down in the city and she stretches out her leg to pick up a race but on a second thought moves her feet backward, glued to the ground, smiling triumphantly, the rain pours down on her body washing away the pain inflicted on her body while she was fighting.

"Who would have thought I would win," she thinks to herself

Listening to the sound of rain pouring from the sky to the grassy park, the glee on her face couldn't contain neither could the voice in her head be stopped anymore, it wanted one thing and Alexandra was happy she had made it happen.

"I'm the Alpha" she yells, glancing around and sees no one in sight. "I'm the new Alpha of Guerrero pack" she jumps up for a moment, falling to her knees, tears brimming down her cheeks, mixing with tears, the salty tasty lingering in her bud. "You did it, Alexandra, you did what they say you couldn't and wouldn't do and now no one is going to stop you, not Bernard nor Veronica and especially not Olivia nor Adam for all of them will get a taste of their medicine"
