Chapter 35
Cynthia POVThis is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
The rest of my day in the office was boring and just filled with me thinking about what Adelie said to me. I have been trying to come up with any possible reason for her to say that to me, but nothing seems to be coming through, and I think I'm losing my mind.
It's finally closing time, and I don't even know if I'm ready to go for this date or if I should just go home and rest my head, but then, I know that I can't bring myself to stand Asher up later.
My phone starts ringing as I walk toward the exit door after I leave the elevator, and I slide the answer button as soon as I see the caller to be Asher. He's always on the perfect timing. "I'm waiting for you outside the gate," He says to me.
"Alright. I'll be with you shortly," The call ends afterward, and I step out of the building once the exit door roll open.
As I walk toward the gate, my heart missed a beat at the sight of him. He's graced in all-black shiny and expensive clothes, with the color of his car matching his dress. It's literally my first time meeting someone that loves black so much to the point of not wearing anything else aside from black. Since I'm not always with him, I have no idea if he wears other colors, but the few times I've been with him, I've not seen him wear other cloth aside from black color.
"Good day," I greet him once I get to where he's standing, and he nods his head with a wide and charming smile on his face. For some time, I feel the burden in my heart moments ago disappear immediately. His smile is like the therapy I need to cure all my problems.
"How was your day at work? Was it stressful?" He asks as he holds my waist and pulls me close to himself, pressing my body hard against his, and I feel my cheeks flush embarrassingly. Why the hell is he doing this here? People are watching. "People are watching us," I whisper, and he chuckles softly.
"You have to get used to this if you want to date me," He winks at me, and my brain suddenly shuts down as I stare at him blankly.
"But... you asked to keep it a secret," My voice is so low that I doubt if he heard me, but the smirk on his face tells me that he did.
"Yes, I did. I do things according to my mood, and this is how I feel now," He smirks, and before I can think of what he said, he leans forward and claims my lips, kissing me slowly like his life depends on it. I feel my knees weak and suddenly fail to carry me, and just when I'm about to stagger, he holds me firmly to himself.
"Oh my goodness! Isn't that Cynthia?"
"Her boyfriend is so cute,"
"I'm so jealous of her. Look at them," I hear voices behind me, and I turn my face away shyly. Fuck!
He finally pulls the door open for me, and I hop in, releasing the breath I have been holding unknowingly.
"So, where do you want us to go? Do you want to spend the night with me at my house, at the hotel, or do you rather we go to the restaurant?" He asks as he starts the car engine, and I glance at him unbelievably. How can he be so so straightforward?
"Resta... Your house," I blurt out before I can stop myself, and he chuckles softly.
"What do you want to do at my place? Have sex with me, or do you just want to sleep by my side?" He asks as he drives down the road, and I feel so embarrassed. What the fuck was I even thinking, saying that I want to go to his house? It's so embarrassing.
"Nothing... Just sleep by your side," I mutter, and he scoffs.
"Staying by my side is dangerous, Cynthia. Are you sure you want to do it?" His domineering voice sounds through my ears, and I feel my heart freeze in my chest. "Yes, I want to," I don't know where the sudden courage came from, but it feels like I'm not thinking straight right now, because what the fuck am I doing?
"Alright then, if you say so," He replies to me with a smirk dancing at the corner of his lips as I stare at the side of his face, wondering what is brewing in his mind.
"Do you know we will be home alone? Your friend is not around," He suddenly asks out of the blue moon, throwing me off guard. I'm sure he just wants to scare me away from him, but I'm determined.
"Can you think straight, Cynthia? What if he hurts you? What if he forces himself on you later? What if he harms you?" My subconscious mind tries to call me to order, but am I really thinking of that now? No, I'm not. "Yes, I know," I reply to him, and he slowly nods his head.
"What drink do you want to take? Red wine is nice, you know? Have you heard that it contains an aphrodisiac that can drive you crazy for sex just at the smell of it? I have it in stock at home, or do you know of any other drink?" He suddenly asks, and I snap my head to look at him. Wait a minute!
"If you're not used to taking alcohol, you can go for pomegranate juice or watermelon juice, but I don't think they are as strong as red wine though," He shrugs, and my heart feels so swollen and about to explode. I think I'm going to lose my mind later.
"What will you go for? We are almost at the mall. Tell me so I can drop by and get something for you," He further asks, and I sigh briefly. I think he's going to sleep with me when we get to his house, and somehow, I'm not sad about it. I mean, I should've thought of it before I agreed to go to his house. And besides, I'm going to marry him later, so doing it with him won't be a bad idea. But do we really need all that for it? I won't be able to go to the office tomorrow if I taste alcohol. Just the smell of it drives me crazy and makes me drunk.
"Can we do away with alcohol?" I ask nervously, and he glances at me.
"How strong is your sex drive?" He asks, and my eyes narrow in shock as I feel my heartbeat increases rapidly. What the fuck is this guy doing to me now?
"Excuse me?" I blink my eyes, and he chuckles softly before he glances at me.
"Answer me, is it strong enough to match mine? If not, then I think you should take red wine. I hate weak girls in bed. It's boring," He smirks at me, and I gulp down the lump in my throat. I think I'm done for. Is he a pervert?
"I... don't really know," I reply to him in a low tone, and he slowly nods his head. The rest of the drive to his house was filled with silence, and I can't deny that I'm so scared. I don't know what he's going to do to me there, and I'm so freaked out. "We are here," My heart skips a beat as I pull back to reality and find him holding the car door open for me to hop out of the car. Am I really doing this?
