The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha

"I can't hear you" Adam admits trying to prove a point.

Alexandra twirled her finger trying to control the anger simmering through her but motion did little to calm her nerves.

"I will give you the position. I will make you the Alpha as you have always wanted" Alexandra adds hating to be under his mercy. But there was nothing she could do.

Something has to be done or she could forever loose Nathaniel. That is a guilt she cannot live with. It will drive her insane and hunt her for the rest of her lives.

Nathaniel doesn't deserve to die. What's the point of being the Alpha if he's not going to be here with me. If he's not going to watch me rule. If he's not going to be by my side, then this position is all for nothing.

"You will step down for me" Adam stressed out trying to get something. Alexandra willingly submitting her position to him was something he didn't plan.

Although his motive had been to take it away from her. Adam wanted to be the Alpha and he plotted wickedly to make it happen. While Alexandra turned down his offer, it made him furious. He willingly gave her to Olivia that way she could torture the living hell out of her and he will take advantage of that opportunity to rescue Alexandra.

Once Alexandra sees his act of chivalry, she will trust him again and then let him rule the Guerrero pack. It was his perfect plan, one that would have been achieved if Nathaniel didn't show up.

"Yes I will step down and do anything you want"

"Anything?" He arched his brow at her.

"Yes Adam. I will do anything to make you the Alpha"

Adam chuckled. He saw right through her, a while ago she wanted nothing to do with him and now she was ready to give up everything that he wanted. Alexandra was a smart woman, she know him very well and that was why she had used the very seductive words he wanted to hear to get him fall into a shell.

"You know what I wanted"

"Yes what you always wanted and I'm sorry for been a fool"

Adam smiled. Alexandra was one snake, she was worse than Olivia.

"Of course you do. How won't you?"

"I'm sorry"

"You did it to save him" Adam admits.

She put her hand on her chest, trying to feel the thumping beat of her heart. However the room temperature did little to calm her racing heart. She glanced at Nathaniel. His unconscious body lying next to her in a pool of blood. This was a dangerous bargain but it was worth it.

Nathaniel was worth everything. If it gets to worse, she will give up her life just so Nathaniel can live. Hell No, he deserved to live and she couldn't deny him that.

Alexandra lowered to her knees. "Just let him go Adam and I will give you what you want"

Adam grinned, his gaze wicked. Alexandra was trapping him in a corner and he was liking it. Although maybe a little too much. Her words was he wanted, her deal was a better one yet it didn't feel like it anymore.

It felt different. Maybe he doesn't want it any longer. Maybe what he wanted is to finally put an end to him.

"What made you think I will accept?"

"You can reject it Adam but if you say no to me. You can never be Alpha. You can never be coronated as the Leader of Guerrero pack"

Adam glared at her, clenching his jaw. She was right. He doesn't want to be the guy who was not living in her shadows. He needed his headshot on the walls of the council building and pack house. He needed to be known as the better Alpha not some rat who climbed to his position by slandering Alexandra's name.

"How dare you say that Alexandra"

"Forgive me Adam but that is the truth. You can turn down my offer and forever live in my shadows or you can take my offer and break free from me"

"You damn well thought this through"

"I'm only giving you a chance. I'm only pleading with you to spare his life. Help me so that I can save his life"

"Is his life that important to you?" He asked, angered.

"Yes" She retorts.

Nathaniel was her everything. She cared about him deeply than he can ever imagine.

"I have never had something that I want to protect so much" Alexandra adds.

That was the truth, he was something she could buy. Nothing can replace him and no one can ever take his place in her heart. He was priceless.noveldrama

Adam furrowed. The way he looked at her indicated that he hadn't like her noting that Nathaniel was special.

"He is what you want to protect" Adam said like he wanted to point out something. "Yes he is"

"So you care about him Alexandra?"

Alexandra gawked at him as though he just grew two heads. His question was certainly out of place and uncalled for. Yet she couldn't say that to his face and risk Nathaniel's life.

But she could remain silent since she couldn't form the right word. Noticing that she wasn't going to speak up, Adam moved closer to her, staring into her eyes.

Her eyes said it all, Nathaniel wasn't just her mate. Somewhere in those beautiful eyes, Nathaniel was the one. The ice that quenched her flames, the one she desired and the one she wanted so badly yet she couldn't admit right to his face that she desperately wanted him.

"So you care about him Alexandra Guerrero?" Adam asked again as if asking a second time was going to get him the answer he wanted to hear nor satisfy his curious mind. "Do you care so much about him Alexandra? Tell me and I might consider your offer?"
