The Cherished Wife

Chapter 740

"Silly girl." Charles squeezed Noelle's hand gently. "Don't worry. Even if your mom has such intentions, she won't succeed. The Smiths' status is too high to be swayed by just her words."

He paused, looking at Noelle. "Having Sean accompany you is far better than sending someone we can't control."

"You mean if Sean doesn't go, my mom will find someone else?" Noelle frowned slightly.

Seeing Charles' noncommittal expression, she suddenly felt a bit powerless. She had to admit that Charles was right. Given Jade's nature, she really would find someone else.

Charles reached out and gently smoothed Noelle's frown, tapping her forehead. "Alright, don't furrow your brows. This isn't something you can change."Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

He knew what troubled her and shook his head. "Having Sean go with you is the best choice right now, and your mom won't immediately push for Sean to marry you."

"That's true." Noelle sighed, still feeling that things would not be that simple.

If Jade was asking her to come back, she undoubtedly had something planned. It was just that Noelle did not know what Jade intended or why she was targeting her specifically, considering both she and Winter were her daughters.

"Alright, stop overthinking. It's late. Let's get some rest."

Noelle nodded, putting down the towel. She wrapped her arms around Charles' waist and nestled her head against his chest.

"I have to spend New Year's at the Shaws'. What about you? Are you going to the Hoffmans'?"

Charles nodded. "Yes, it's

necessary." His expression darkened

a bit. "So, Nelly, when do I get to make things official? We can't even spend New Year's together, having to sneak around like this!"

"Oh, come on." Noelle cupped his cheeks and kissed the corner of his lips. "I promise, once all of this settles down, we'll announce our relationship, okay? And then we'll

have a wedding!"

"Alright," Charles murmured, stroking her back before lifting her effortlessly and gently placing her on the bed. "Then, I'll patiently wait for my wife to bring me good news."

Noelle laughed, her eyes forming little crescents, brimming with happiness.

Lying on the bed, she wrapped her arms around Charles' neck. With a gentle tyg, she pulled him down, kissing him from his nose to his eyes, to his brows, then his cheeks, and finally, to his lips.

They were warm and soft. She chuckled softly, giving another little tug that brought Charles onto the bed with her.

Charles' gaze darkened, and he swiftly turned, wrapping his long arms around Noelle. He was trying to ensure he did not put his full weight on her.

They rolled together on the bed before Charles propped himself up, his eyes sparkling like stars.

"You..." He playfully pinched her nose before leaning down to kiss her soft lips.
