Chapter 1055
Soon, the interrogators came out of the room. It seemed they wouldn’t get any answers today.
Kale had been waiting
the station.
When Drake and Debra walked out, he quickly went up.
“Boss, the plane tickets are ready.”
“Good.”
Before getting into the car, Drake said, “I’ll give you an answer within three days. Don’t forget our bet.”
Debra shook her head, surprised that he took that lopsided deal so seriously.
Her phone rang with a call from Erica. “Check the news!”
Debra, sensing her urgency, opened the news app.
The top headline was about Buchan Entertainment. The article showcased a lineup of attractive artists and members of popular bands.
Randy’s words resurfaced in her mind. When she had just returned to Seamar City, he mentioned that a surge of artists had become wildly popular, rivaling the fame of Michael back in the day.
Since Oscar left the entertainment industry to take over the Odom Group, these artists had been gaining even more momentum, almost as if they were poised to reshape the industry. And now, it turned out they were all from Buchan Entertainment.
Erica urged, “You should get back to the office. Theda is declaring war on you.”
But Debra knew it couldn’t be that simple. Still, this move had taken her off guard. novelbin
“I know. I’ll be right back.” She hung up and immediately got in the car, speeding toward the
company.
In the McKinney Group Headquarters, Ben was anxiously waiting.
As soon as they met, Debra asked, “Are Michael and Erica here?”
“Yes. Mr. Osborne and they are all upstairs waiting for you,” replied Ben.
Debra nodded, knowing that Randy had been managing the company in her absence.
She had no doubts about his capabilities, especially with Michael assisting him. If this move hadn’t been so meticulously planned, they wouldn’t have been caught off guard.
In the CEO’s office, the three people were sitting silently.
When Debra entered, they all stood up. One look at their faces told Debra the situation was
serious.
“What’s going on? Why isn’t anyone talking?” she asked.
Erica and Michael both turned to Randy, who cleared his throat.
“This isn’t my fault. Theda is wily. Who knows how long she’s been planning this? You don’t train artists like that in just months but years. Now she is on the high ground.”
If Theda had only produced a couple of artists, they could’ve handled it with the trainees they poached from the Potter Group. But she had pushed out a total of 28 artists.
And they were either A- or B–listers. With this move, Buchan Entertainment had effectively claimed half the market.
