Loved You Once But He's My Forever (Chloe)

Chapter 556 I Like You the Most

With the soft melody of romantic music playing, Anna clung to Taylor like a delicate vine, following his every movement.

Her mind was completely occupied with remembering the dance steps, so she failed to notice the way Taylor's ears had turned red.

The island nights were beautiful. They didn't have the bustling energy of a big city, but they offered a peace unlike anything she had ever known.

Even the snakes didn't scare her anymore after seeing them so often.

The only downside was the loneliness. No family, no friends-just her, completely isolated.

So when Taylor arrived on the island, her spirits soared. Just like when she was a child, after finishing her bath, she grabbed her pillow and pushed open Taylor's bedroom door.

Taylor had just come out of the shower, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist.

Droplets of water clung to his hair and skin, glistening under the light. The faint outline of his abs was visible, and his toned calf muscles hinted at his strength.

Startled, he took a step back. "What are you doing here?"

Anna, oblivious to the hint of embarrassment in his eyes, climbed onto his bed, hugging her pillow. "I'm sleeping here with you tonight! What story are we telling?"

Taylor grabbed his pajamas and disappeared into the bathroom to change. When he returned, fully dressed, he cleared his throat and clenched his fists slightly. "Anna, actually, we ... "

He felt it was time to explain the difference between men and women to her. But before he could finish, Anna patted the spot next to her. "Hurry up, Taylor. I don't want a bedtime story tonight. Tell me about the outside world instead."

Taylor let out a sigh. The days he could stay by her side were numbered.

He knew that ever since Anna learned about the long-standing feud between the Sanders and the Carlyns, she had been sneaking off to the Carlyns' cemetery every day, repenting for the sins of the Sanders, hoping to earn their forgiveness.

Taylor had never resented her for it. He only felt sorry for her. And so, he always did his best to fulfill her every wish.

Lifting the covers, he carefully positioned himself as far away from her as possible. But as soon as Anna turned off the lights, she scooted closer, curling up against his chest as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Resting her chin in the crook of his neck, she wrapped her legs tightly around his waist, clinging to him like an octopus.

It had been so long since she had hugged Taylor like this. She snuggled in closer, rubbing against his neck with a sigh of contentment. "Taylor, you smell so nice."

Taylor froze, afraid to move. To distract himself, he started telling her stories about the outside world.

Anna listened for a while before getting to the real point. "Have you seen Ethan and Chloe? How are they?"

"They're doing well."

Anna bit her lip, lowering her voice. "Taylor, can you let me see them? I promise I won't do anything-just one glance, even from a distance."

Silence. In the dark, all she could hear was Taylor's steady breathing. She nudged against him. "Taylor, please? Say yes."

His husky voice finally broke the quiet. "Stay still."

Anna didn't understand why, so she wiggled even more.

"I won't stop unless you say yes."

Taylor sighed. "A year from now, I'll find a way for you to leave the island."

"A whole year? That's so long..."

Anna let out a little sigh. But since Taylor had given his word, she knew he would follow through.

Satisfied with his promise, she drifted off to sleep.

Taylor watched her peaceful, trusting face, then tried to shift away from her-just a little.

As if sensing his movement, Anna immediately scooted closer again, wrapping her arms around his and refusing to let go. "Don't go."

Taylor had no way to resist her. Ever since leaving the Sander Residence, he had become Anna's only support, and she trusted him completely.

He reached out and gently stroked her soft cheek. "Anna ... But I was never a good person to begin with."

The next morning, Taylor was already gone.

All that was left beside the bed was a letter he had written for her.

He had left again.noveldrama

How strange. He used to stay for a while whenever he returned, but this time, he had barely been here before leaving again.

But at least, in his letter, he had promised to take her away in a year.

From that day on, Anna had something to look forward to. Every day, she stood at the edge of the cliff, gazing out at the sea, waiting for Taylor to return.

She had been on this island for so long that even the snakes in the mountains no longer bit her, even without the usual repellent.

Sometimes, when she sat by the shore, one or two of them would coil up beside her, resting their heads on her lap as if they were waiting with her.

She had no idea how many sunrises and sunsets had passed, but another year had gone by.

Anna had grown even more beautiful. Her body had fully developed, still carrying the freshness of youth but now accentuated by the graceful curves of a woman.

The moment she spotted a ship on the horizon, she sprinted down the mountain in one breath, excitement lighting up her face.

Standing on the shore, she cupped her hands around her mouth like a little megaphone and shouted, "Taylor!"

Taylor had already seen her from the ship. Her hair had grown longer, and she wore a simple white dress, looking like a woodland sprite emerging from the trees.

The second he stepped onto the shore, before he even had a chance to steady himself, Anna took a running leap straight into his arms. She wrapped her arms tightly. around his neck, beaming with joy. "I've been waiting for you forever! Taylor, did you miss me?"

A year had passed, and her body had matured further. Even through her clothes,

he could feel the softness of her breast pressing against him.

Taylor, who had never been one to get close to women, felt his ears heat up. "Let go first."

Anna clung to him, her delicate face filled with playful innocence. "Not until you answer me did you miss me?"

Taylor swallowed, his voice gentle. "I did."

Even though there were surveillance cameras on the island and he could see her anytime he wanted, it was nothing compared to being with her in person.

Back then, he had only sent her to this island out of pity, sparing her life. Yet, while he was away, he

found himself thinking about hermet

constantly. Every day, he would take time to check the surveillance

footage. And now, holding her in his arms, he finally felt a serise of

peace.

Anna had grown taller since last year, still pure and untainted, like a blank sheet

of paper. She was unlike anyone else.

Standing on tiptoe, she nuzzled against his neck. "Taylor, I missed you too! Did

you come to take me away?"

Taylor flicked her nose. "Do you miss me, or do you just want to leave the island?"

"Both."

Her rosy lips parted slightly. "Can we leave right now?"

She was too impatient to wait even a second longer. Taylor ruffled her hair.

"Alright."

Anna's eyes lit up with surprise. She

hadn't expected him to agree so easily Standing on tiptoe again, she kissed his cheek. "You're the best! I you the most." fo

like

Taylor's heart stirred, quiet and unnoticed.
