Kiss My Revenge The Heiress Strikes Back

Chapter 371

Darcy cleared his throat. Miranda's responses were nothing like what he had expected, so straightforward.

He knew making such achievements meant she was different from other young people, but he hadn't anticipated just how different.

"We've heard about you and your family. Rest assured, we don't intend to hold your father's actions against you. You're still a part of the Hawke family. Our family acknowledges you." He paused purposefully, adding, "But not your four brothers."

Miranda chuckled. What an interesting way to put it.

In other words, they only recognized her from the Hawke family in Zephra, not the rest of the members. It made sense; any of the rest being accepted would be an embarrassment to them. After all, they were all serving time in prison. The shortest sentence among them was five years.

As Darcy mentioned it, Carter also thought about Miranda's four brothers. None of them were any good, all fawning over that adopted sister.

"Can I ask a question?" Miranda inquired.

"Go ahead."

"What exactly did Alden do to get kicked out of the family?" Miranda's curiosity was purely gossip-driven; she was just curious about what misdeeds Alden had committed, leading to his abandonment.

Darcy hesitated, as if dredging up old memories. "It's not really a secret, but it's been a long time. From what I recall vaguely, he colluded with outsiders, jeopardizing the family's interests, which led to the heads of two family subsidiaries ending up in prison. After the family paid to keep him out of jail, they disowned him. Since then, the Hawke family has cut all ties with him. So, all these years, he's never reached out to us, because he knows we'd never help him again unless he fancies a prison cell."

Miranda thought to herself, "No wonder the Hawke family seems destined for prison, apart from the original Miranda. It must run in the family."

"Anything else you want to know?" Darcy's smile was warm, his eyes filled with an unmistakable fondness, like a proud uncle.

Miranda shrugged. "Not really. Just the main question - what do you want from me?"

As she spoke, she noticed Carter looking like he was about to burst, his face turning red.

"If you've got something to say, spit it out. Don't choke on it."

Carter exhaled in relief. "I wanted to say, Uncle Darcy, just tell her already, why did

you want to meet her? It's killing me!"

Miranda remarked, "You might want to keep your mouth shut."noveldrama

Carter pouted silently. Darcy chuckled, glancing at Carter. "My nephew here has a rebellious streak. Not even his parents can control him didn't expect you to get him to listen."

Carter blushed, awkwardly looking away. Miranda took a sip of her drink and remarked blandly, "Maybe his parents never really tried."

Darcy paused, and didn't address any words. He knew all too well what kind of parents Carter had. They

parent tainly weren't modeb

parents.

"You managed to merge NeuraCore, which has been on the brink of

bankruptcy under your company and turned it around in no time," Darcy said as he gazed at Miranda.

QUM

"Are you here to take NeuraCore from me?" Miranda wondered, laughing. "Go

ahead, try it. We'll settle it in court."
