Chapter 1660
"No one holds a candle to Fiona," Jackson said, tousling her just-woken hair with a fond smile as he sat beside her. "I just happened to know she was friends with Allen, and thanks to his recommendation, she got a foot in the company door. Honestly, I still don't even know her name."
That put Fiona's mind at ease, but she still wondered about Allen's connection to her. It seemed her hunch was right all along.
"I've been reading the news lately. Most of it is probably bogus, right?" Fiona asked, fishing a piece of candy from her pocket and popping it into her mouth. Jackson stopped her, "We're about to have dinner. Hold off till later."
Fiona nodded, setting the candy aside, and turned back to Jackson. "So, what's the deal with her looks?"
"Nash, could you head out and grab Fiona a cupcake?" Jackson instructed.
Nash, who had been listening with great interest, looked up, slightly incredulous. "Aren't we about to eat dinner? Why a cupcake?"
Jackson shot him a frosty look, and Nash quickly made for the door. He wasn't afraid of much, but Jackson was an exception.
After dinner, Jackson drove Fiona and Nash back to school. They walked one behind the other toward the campus field.
Before they could even start chatting, Mr. Trevor suddenly appeared behind them, scolding them sternly. "At your age, you should be focused on your studies, not early romances!"
The two exchanged glances, as if sharing a private joke, and Fiona, in particular, turned and walked away.
"You two, bring your parents in. I need to have a serious talk with them about this."
Jackson, who had just left, was called back to the school. The administration not only apologized but also guaranteed that such incidents wouldn't recur.
While he was there, Jackson also sorted out the issue of Yvenne's injury. The school had been funded by the Woods family, and each classroom had surveillance cameras. When the footage was shown, Sandy felt her face burn with embarrassment.
She couldn't believe the student she had always looked out for had been deceiving her. Even the first time Yvenne fell down the stairs, the camera had been deliberately turned off, but there was a small camera at the corner, usually off, that happened to be on that day.
Yvenne was caught in her own trap, unable to defend herself in the meeting room, tears streaming down her face. She hadn't expected Jackson to stand up for Fiona, Why
Fiona? In the end, she was just
another student like Yvenne, from an average background. Why did
Jackson favor her so much?
"No, I didn't, it's not like that, I didn't lie, Ms. Sandy, you have to believe me, my injuries are real, the blood was real, I truly didn't lie."
Looking at Yvenne's distraught face, Sandy felt a twinge of doubt. Yvenne was a well-behaved and sensible girl, unlike Fiona, who always seemed to be arrogant and unmotivated.
Even if Yvenne's injuries weren't directly caused by Fiona, she was somehow involved.noveldrama
"Mr. Garcia, although Yvenne's injuries weren't inflicted by Fiona, she's not completely uninvolved. Maybe an apology from both sides would suffice."
Fiona laughed incredulously. It was the first time she'd heard someone defend the perpetrator so casually.
It was astonishing to hear such brazen words from a teacher.
"It has nothing to do with me. I won't apologize." Fiona shrugged, leaning back in her chair in the meeting room, a soft chuckle escaping her lips. "Unless someone is blind, it's clear from the video that from start to finish, Yvenne was the one bothering me. Even whefpl ignored her, she kept provoking me. Can I consider her actions as deliberate harassment? What do you think, teachers?"
What do you think?
