Chapter 1305
"Brody, see? I wasn't wrong, was I? Flora really does look like our little sister." Brody whispered smugly to Samuel, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "So, big brother, can you really send her away from the Wellness Center now?" Samuel shot him a dangerous, icy glare. He was already in a foul mood, and Brody's antics weren't helping. If Flora hadn't been there, he might have given Brody a good kick.
"Flora... Ms. Flora," Samuel took a deep breath and slowly approached Flora. Everyone in the Wellness Center tensed up, expecting Samuel to be angry and reprimand Flora. Some even snuck off to fetch Corbyn. But instead, Samuel stopped in front of Flora, looking a bit unsure: "Please, don't be upset. I apologize for what I said earlier."
Getting him to apologize was no small feat.
Everyone in the Wellness Center was stunned. The head of the Roth family, apologizing to Flora?!
"Yeah, yeah, Miss Flora, don't be mad at us, we were just joking around," Brody said, trying to appease Flora, knowing her temper would be harder to calm later.
Flora shot him a cold glance, said nothing, and turned to head upstairs.
Brody could feel her attitude towards him had turned even colder, though she was never particularly friendly before. He was a bit miffed at Samuel; just when he had started to connect with Flora, it all fell apart again. "Big brother, you've really upset her this time. Don't bother looking; she's already gone," Brody grumbled to Samuel.
"Shut up."
Samuel, keeping the storm inside him at bay, walked out of the Wellness Center. Flora and his little sister were too similar... eerily similar.
"That Flora, did she come from Austenberg?" Samuel asked sharply, turning to Brody, who had followed him out.
Brody nodded. From Austenberg... His little sister had lived there once.
"Brody, I've got a task for you." Samuel paused, his gaze turning cold as he looked at Brody. "Get a pass from the Enforcement Division and head to Austenberg. Dig into Flora's background thoroughly before you come back."
Brody's expression shifted: "Brother, are you thinking—"
"It's just a reasonable guess."
Anyone would find it odd.
"Also," he added, pausing, "keep it under wraps. Tara mustn't find out."
It was just a hunch, after all. If Tara discovered, it could cause a rift.

Tara was still waiting for some good news. Knowing her granduncle, she was sure he would stand up for her and send Flora packing. Even if he couldn't drive Flora away, he could at least teach her a lesson, making

future.
She sipped her chamomile tea, and suddenly, her phone rang on the table. She picked it up and answered: "Hello-"
"Tara, did you hear? Your granduncle
came to the Wellness Center today,
looking like he was ready for a showdown. We all thought he was going to give Flora a piece of his

"Ah?" Tara feigned ignorance, pretending to worry about Flora, though her lips were already curling into a smile, eager to hear about Flora's downfall. "How could that be... So, what happened next?"
