Chapter 91
Quentin seemed quite open minded about the situation. So, Natasha didn't say anything more.
At that moment, a pair of eyes watched silently from the shadows as the group
walked away.
"These people are connected to the man. Are you seriously going to let them go?"
The figure hidden in the dark simply shook their head and said nothing.
The moment Liana found out that Natasha had returned to Cendale, she immediately dragged her out for some proper food.
"I knew you wouldn't have eaten anything decent on that ship!" Liana exclaimed.
Liana knew Natasha better than anyone. She was surprised to see that Zachary and Xavier tagged along as well.
"You must be Ms. Gray. Mind if we exchange contact information?" Zachary asked. He had only just taken his seat. Yet, his intentions were clear.
Liana was caught off guard. She turned to look at Natasha, who was just as surprised. She had assumed Zachary had been attentive to her on the ship because he liked her.noveldrama
But it turned out that Liana was the one he liked. That must have been the reason why he said he only wanted to be friends with Natasha.
Natasha quietly clenched her fists. Then again, she knew it had all been her own assumption. She couldn't blame Zachary for that.
They couldn't just keep being awkward around each other. In the end, Liana and Zachary exchanged numbers.
Xavier let out a visible sigh of relief. His attitude toward Zachary suddenly improved.
"This dish is actually pretty good. You should try it," Xavier offered over mealtime. Zachary, however, didn't exactly return the sudden friendliness.
The meal turned out to be extremely uncomfortable for Liana. For some reason, she couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt.
She wasn't a classic beauty but had a charm of her own. She was completely different from Natasha. It wasn't all that surprising for Zachary to like her.
After the meal, everyone began to part ways. Liana loaded Natasha's luggage into her car and gave her a cautious look.
"What's with that face? Did you do something you feel guilty about?" Natasha teased with a grin on her face. But Liana couldn't bring herself to say what was on her mind.
As soon as the car pulled up to the entrance of Natasha's apartment complex, a message popped up through the car's Bluetooth connection.
"Did you get home safe?" the text read.
It hadn't even been half an hour, and Zachary had already texted.
Natasha immediately pretended not to see it. She unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out of the car.
Liana quickly followed. "I really didn't expect Zachary to—"
Before she could finish, Natasha cut her off. "Why are you telling me this? Who Zachary likes has nothing to do with me. You don't need to feel pressured," Natasha reassured her.
But right after she said that, she paused and frowned. "Wait a second. Was it obvious that I liked Zachary?" Natasha questioned.
She and Zachary barely had any interaction. Liana wasn't even there for most of
it.
Liana didn't know what to say. She just stood there awkwardly.
Natasha added, "Anyway, your love life isn't my business. It'd be great if you liked him back, right?"
At least then, she wouldn't have to worry about Liana always being alone like herself.
Once Natasha stepped into the apartment complex, Liana got back into her car.
Everything Natasha said was true. When it came to feelings, there was no such thing as "first come, first served".
Back in her apartment, Natasha turned on her phone. As expected, there were no new messages.
