Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 1003

They wandered hand in hand through the bright, bustling world of Disneyland, weaving between spinning teacups and the sweet smell of caramel popcorn that filled the air.

The two kids marched ahead, little fingers locked together, while Chloe and Connor walked on either side, close but somehow careful. They looked exactly like a family of four-picture perfect, really. With those good genes, it was no wonder people kept glancing their way.

Out of nowhere, a talent scout materialized, eyeing them like he'd just struck gold. He greeted them in Japanese, all business and big smiles. "Hello, I'm with JOBBY KIDS. Your children are absolutely adorable-have you ever thought about signing with us? They could be the next big thing!"

Chloe barely blinked. She'd gotten used to this. Every time she took Aaron out, someone seemed to notice him. She turned down the offer gently, polite as always.noveldrama

But the scout wasn't giving up. He pressed his business card into her hand before she could protest again. As he walked away, he grinned and said, "How about a family photo? My treat!"

Chloe almost explained-they weren't really a family. But before she could say anything, Connor spoke up. "Let's take one. It'll be a nice memory for Tim."

She didn't say no. Looking at Tim's sweet, innocent face, Chloe felt a dull ache deep inside, a tenderness she couldn't quite explain.

The scout arranged them for the shot-kids up front, adults behind. Chloe and Connor ended up closer than they'd been all day.

Still, the scout wasn't satisfied. "Sir, why don't you put your arm around your wife's shoulders?"

Connor glanced at Chloe, always the gentleman. "Is that okay?"

The scout chuckled. "Don't be shy-you've already got two kids together!"

Chloe's expression wavered just a

bit-not because of the scout's words, but because of the way Connor looked at her right then. His eyes were deep and dark, almost hypnotic, like you could fall right into them. There was something burning there, something intense and impossible to ignore.

Chloe quickly looked away. She felt like if she kept looking, she'd get scorched. But she answered, steady as ever, "Sure."

If it was for the kids, pretending to be their mom for a photo seemed harmless enough.

Connor slipped his arm around her shoulders, careful and gentle. It was the closest they'd ever stood. He'd held her before, under the fireworks, but that felt like another life-half dream, half memory.

This was different. He was sober, present, fully aware that it was Chloe beside him. Her memory loss meant he'd spent so long keeping his

feelings locked away, but nowal ne

something lighter was quietly taking root inside him-a bit of happiness, a bit of hope, something like gratitude. For the first time in forever, he felt like the storm inside him was finally clearing.

Still, he held back, keeping his touch light, even though he wanted nothing more than to pull her close and never let go.

To Chloe, he was the perfect gentleman-kind, thoughtful, a wonderful dad. She couldn't help but wonder what could possibly have made his wife leave someone like him.

The camera clicked, and in seconds the scout handed Connor the photo. In it, the four of them were pressed together, looking every bit the happy family-so natural, so right.

The scout slipped them another card, just in case they changed their minds about the whole child-star thing.

Before they knew it, lunchtime had rolled around.
