Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1907

The two of them were practically face-to-face with each other. They could clearly feel something. Carolien did not even dare to breathe too loudly.

Gazing at her from a close distance, he could feel her genuine warmth and aura. Elijah suddenly realized that she was even prettier than he thought. Her snow- white skin was like porcelain, and her slender body was soft and pliant. Whether it was her bright eyes that shone with the intense light of spring or her delicate lips that looked to be stained with drops of blood, they were all one-of-a-kind. She was flawless and even more enchanting.

A single glance at her made him feel trapped. Unable to control himself, Elijah leaned in. It felt as if something exploded in his chest, and the violent tides swallowed both of them in an instant.

In a trance, Carolien's brain went blank. She had no idea how long had passed. When she snapped back to reality, it felt like something inside her was bursting open, and there seemed to be countless ants crawling around her body. She felt like she was going insane, and she helplessly kicked her tiny feet. She subconsciously grasped at the sheets and clutched his arm.

"Elijah-"

Why was he taking so long? It was so unbearable that she felt like dying! Was he trying to torture her?

His fingertips lightly tugged at a strand of her hair and played with it. Elijah maintained his unhurried attitude. "Why? Are you getting impatient, too?"

Had she forgotten how she toyed with him just now?

"Do you want it?"

Elijah's hoarse voice was like his gaze, with inconcealable flames raging in it. In reality, he was feeling just as crazy as she was. Even though she tasted amazing, it was a double-edged sword. He was actually in great suffering. He had been at his limit for a long time.

"Elijah!"

He was so petty!

How could he use his innate talents against her and leave her hanging at such a critical moment?

Carolien felt uncomfortable as if her whole body was itching. She huffed in anger but couldn't help but acknowledge his strong self-control. She exerted her strength and turned around, then pressed him down as she began running her hands all over. "Go ahead and use me."

She wanted to see who would be the first to break.

On the huge bed, the two of them were entangled. As sparks were flying, they suddenly heard the piercing sound of a ringtone. It was like a basin of cold water being poured over them. Elijah, who was kissing her on the lips, froze in place.

Suddenly, Carolien jolted out of her daze for a moment. She eyed the direction of his phone subconsciously.

The next second, a crushing kiss pulled her back into the clouds, and their lips melded together. They kissed each other passionately. Just as Elijah's hand moved, he once again heard the ringtone, which completely killed the mood. His expression changed. The blue veins on his hand bulged, but they were only for about two seconds. Once they got back into action, it was even more intense and frenzied.

The atmosphere became increasingly tense, and his phone rang once again. The beautiful atmosphere was destroyed in an instant. Elijah's eyes shot open, and he turned over and sat up. His face was livid as he grumbled, "This had better be a f*cking emergency."

Otherwise, he would kill him!

How could he choose a time like this?

Filled with anger, he snorted indignantly before getting up to grab his phone. "What is it?" he asked in an unfriendly tone.

"Something happened, Master Elijah!"

Elijah heard an urgent voice, and his face turned icy. He got up and walked to the side. "...I see. I'll come over right now."

He hung up the phone and glanced at the messy bed out of the corner of his eye. He gritted his teeth and swiftly put on his clothes.

Carolien pulled the blanket over herself. She had been pushed to her limits, and she was so weak that she didn't even have the strength to get up. Her mind was in chaos. She lay in place for a long time and didn't move. What happened? Why did they stop at a time like that?

As soon as that confused thought came to mind, she heard a faint knocking sound came, followed by a man's distant voice. "I'll let you go for today. Wait for me to call you."

With a jolt, Carolien felt like she was still dreaming. He had left? They were one step away from going all the way, and he actually left just like that?

After returning to the company in a hurry, rage pooled in Elijah's stomach and his expression was murky. "What's going on?"

At that moment, Hudson, Hart, several managers, and a grimy man were squeezed into the office, muttering about something.

After closing the door, Hudson went to make some coffee. Meanwhile, Hart spoke up.

"An unknown source leaked that NO Jewelry Studio was robbed. The blueprint of the Double Dragon Buckle and a few newly manufactured products are all gone. It was likely done by professionals. They chose to do it on a rainy day, and all the surveillance cameras were destroyed, so no traces were left."

"When did it happen?" Sitting down, Elijah's expression turned grave. "Three days ago!"

"How did we only find out now?" Why were they only telling him something that happened three days ago right then? They might as well have waited until the sky fell down.

Elijah looked at them coldly and everyone lowered their heads in fear. One of the managers timidly muttered, "M-Master Elijah, we initially wanted to confirm the outcome before reporting to you... but we didn't expect that-"

They didn't expect that there was a top-secret blueprint among the things they had lost. They didn't get it back and couldn't find any clues, which triggered a series of chain reactions.

Hudson served each person a cup of coffee before chiming in.

"I just received a call from several big customers who all wanted to inquire about their warranties. Some

even asked to come over and che

it out in person, and they hope we can schedule it. I managed to hold them off for a while, but not for long. Someone must be adding fuel to the fire. I asked someone to ask around. The news is going viral right now. People are saying that the Luther family's heirloom, a key, was lost. It's the key to the Luther family's fortune which is stored in ZG. Anyone who gets it will become filthy rich. Because of that, everything's a total mess right now."

Elijah froze as he picked up the cup of coffee. "Who spread the news? What is

this about? How do they know that we have a vault in ZG?"

Hart was the one who answered.

"What's so strange about that? Anyone with a little bit of background and reputation has

important secrets that cannot bon et

exposed. On top of that, ZG is famous for its security and privacy. It's terribly expensive, but no identification is required. All you need is a key. In order to protect their clients' privacy, they don't even have surveillance. As long as the exact vault number and key can be provided, they will let you in. However, the boundaries and limitations of security work are too small. Not to mention, they rely entirely on human labor for security, so they have no choice but to do it on a small scale. I'm guessing that the person behind this is just making things up in an attempt to make them come true. However, the fact that they know of ZG's existence shows that they are not an ordinary person..."

Unlike Triumphoods Group, they did all kinds of policies, whether big or small. The only difference was the scale of those policies.

ZG was not open to the public, and the clients they accepted were all worth at least 100 million dollars. That was to say, ZG would not contact someone who didn't have a family background of similar standing. Not to mention, one of the conditions for opening a vault was to provide a piece of property worth over 100 million dollars. Thus, ordinary people typically had no idea it even existed. However, outsiders should not know that ZG was actually the Luther family's secret base, constructed with foreign help. Even so, it was independent of the Luther family.

Therefore, it was said that the Luther family had a vault in ZG. It was true that although ZG was under the Luther family, they did not know any of the clients' information nor what the vaults contained. ZG was initially meant to serve as a backup for Triumphoods Group, preventing it from separating immediately after being established.

"I think that someone's targeting us, Elijah." They just didn't know if it was deliberate, or if someone was just trying their luck. In any case, it stirred up a lot of trouble.

Elijah frowned and tapped the space between his brows. He even felt a bloodthirsty urge. He had no idea which idiot could be behind all of it. He would rip their skin off once he caught them.

As he was thinking about it, his phone buzzed. He picked up the phone, gestured

to Hudson to move aside, and said, "Mr. Freeman? It's so late. Why are you still awake?"

"You actually believed that? It's all a

jet

rumor! There are no unbreakable locks in this world. Triumphoods Group's reputation is so well-known, yet you're worried that we're going to

run away? Of course, you can come over and check on your items anytime you want. However, if you

want to do so, you should follow the rules and go according to the contract. You should let us know at

least one week in advance so that we can prepare things for you, right? You know, when it comes to antiques, especially those that have been stored away, we need to get experts and professionals to inspect and confirm their authenticity whenever we open them up... This is for the sake of safety, to avoid

conflict in the future..."

"Okay. I'll arrange it for you."

After hanging up and turning around, Hudson shrugged helplessly. Another one

had called.

They looked at each other and Elijah said, "Was that Barry Freeman? That muddled, greasy old man?"

"Yes. a shabby painting has been changed several times! He's worried that he'll forget about it or throw it away or ruin it somehow if it's in his hands, but at the same time, he's worried that it'll get damaged if he keeps it with us. He calls us practically every day. I really shouldn't have accepted him as a client. He's so annoying! He calls at the slightest disturbance. I'll never be at peace."

Hudson got a headache at the thought of it. However, there were many customers like Barry.

"What are we going to do if he insists on having a look at it, Elijah?" Barry could

be dealt with for a week or two, but it wasn't like they could hold him back fornoveldrama

years. What if they didn't get the key back?

"Let him look, then."

"Huh? But the key..." The key could only be taken out using the Double Dragon

Buckle. How could they get into the vault without the key? If they could really get in, they would not have needed to do painstaking research for so many years. "It's precisely at times like these that we need to be honest. The more we hide,

the more we have to deal with!" The gears in Elijah's head turned swiftly. He retracted his slender fingertips and continued speaking.

"Since we can't hide it anymore, and someone wants to fight for it, then let them

do so. Go to report the case and release the news at the same time. Tell them that the Double Dragon Buckle does indeed contain a secret, but that it was lost because of the stolen goods, and that it's related to the Luther family's reserves of 50 million dollars. The most important thing right now is not to find the lost

blueprint, but to settle the situation at hand."

He could not let the issue affect Triumphoods Group and shake its foundation.

If they brought attention to the issue, they might just be able to lure the culprit out.

If not, they could at least buy more time for themselves.
