The World of Beasts: She's Got Their Hearts

Chapter 122

The sight of Gideon entering the laboratory module made Analise's heart race

with nervousness. After all, she couldn't be absolutely sure that his replacement potion would work.

"Ana, can you see the three buttons over there?" Gideon's voice came through the laboratory module.

"Yeah." Analise looked at where he pointed and saw three buttons in different colors.

"The white button controls sedatives and inhibitors. Press it if I go into a frenzy. The medications will be released at the same time, giving me a brief moment to regain control of myself."

Gideon was frowning as he stood in the laboratory module, his expression contorting with pain.

"What about the red and green buttons?" Analise asked hastily. Seeing the look on his face made her worry that he might lose consciousness after he went into a frenzy.

"The red button will activate the alarm that will blare through the entire laboratory. Someone will be here and give you a helping hand. The green button..."

Gideon stopped speaking abruptly before he continued in a strained voice, "It opens the module's hatch."

At the next moment, he let out an unexpected cry. It seemed like he was feeling extremely unwell. He fell to his knees before he curled up on the floor.

His condition was completely unstable, as if he were shifting in and out of his beast form. At some point, his painful cries pierced through the air.

Analise watched as Gideon's hair shifted into feathers. His arms also constantly changed into wings before reverting back to their original state.

It was probably thanks to his sheer will that he forcibly suppressed his body from shifting into the beast form by itself.

Several minutes later, Gideon was on all fours, panting heavily. Baby feathers could still be seen on his arms and even his face. His body was probably still shifting into the beast form but was held back by him.

Gideon panted as he gritted his teeth. He could feel how peculiarty the air moved around him. It almost felt like he could control it. As a bird therian, he was very confident in his sensitivity to wind.

"Gideon, how are you feeling?" Analise looked at his pale face and felt nervous when she saw the pain in his expression. She wondered if she should open the hatch.

He didn't go into a frenzy, and it probably meant that the replacement potion was doing its job. The experiment was a success.

Gideon didn't respond to Analise. Instead, he calmed his mind and sensed the airflow around him, trying to resonate with it.

The jars and bottles started shaking slightly, and even the solutions in the various test tubes started swaying. Sharp rattling sounds echoed throughout the entire laboratory.

Finlay shielded Analise behind him as he locked his vigilant gaze on Gideon, getting ready to fight at a moment's notice.

"A-Ana." Gideon pulled himself up to his feet with difficulty, fighting the terrible feeling roiling in his body. "Give me the test tube over there."

He pointed at another test tube on the laboratory table, which also contained Analise's blood. The solutions in the two test tubes were the same, but he dripped different amounts of blood in them.

"I'll do it." Finlay took the test tube and made Analise take some steps back beforenoveldrama

he pressed the green button, opening the hatch to the laboratory module.

"Thanks." Gideon took the test tube and poured its contents down his throat. Then, he closed the hatch again.

This time, he closed his eyes and remained standing in the module, his hair swaying, despite the complete lack of airflow in there.

The test tubes in the laboratory were still shaking and clinking against objects around them. It almost felt like they were reacting to a swirling wind.

Analise glanced at the rattling jars and test tubes before turning her gaze to Gideon. When he lifted his finger, a small whirlwind wrapped itself around a test tube and held it in midair.

Was that wind? Was that what he was controlling?
