"He's been following you around since I got back. It's kind of obvious." I said.

"Right. Well, this is Toby. My mate." She said.

"It's really nice to meet you Toby." I said.

"It's Emma. Not ma'am." I said.

"Toby is from one of the packs from the state. In Washington." She said.

"What? You're leaving?" I asked.

"Why would you say that?" She asked.

"Because the woman always goes to the man's pack. That's how it's always been. You're

gonna move to Washington." I said.

"No. No way. Absolutely not...At least, I don't think so." Avery said, looking back at Toby. But he

didn't say anything. His facial expressions didn't even give anything away.

"We still have to discuss that." Toby said.

"Yeah. Sounds like it." I said.

I looked back at Lucas and he stepped forward to put his arm around my waist, picking up on the worry on my face. Knowing that I would be really heart broken if Avery left. But if that's what she had to do to be with her mate then there was nothing I could do about it.
