Chapter 2188 To Me, You’re Better Than Everyone Else

Ian, too, found Simon's case rather sarcastic. "With a situation like that, it's no different from robbery."

Simon was so focused on money that when he killed Leah, he was probably no longer aware of family ties.

Ian asked Sean about it sometime after that and learned that Simon was in serious debt. Leah could indeed help him pay back the debt, but if she did, she wouldn't have much money left. One could only imagine the amount.

Simon must've been driven to insanity because of the money, so it wasn't a surprise that he would turn against Leah.

Cindy was still a little bothered. "I wonder what Leah was thinking at the end. Maybe she was in despair, and she regretted a lot of things."

If Leah still had some common sense, she might regret not putting more thought into Simon's habits. She was the one who had more resources, and if she had put more effort into it, she might have raised Simon to be someone on par with Sean.

However, unexpectedly, the youngest son of the Morgan Family was raised to eventually walk down the wrong path.

Some things really didn't turn out the way people thought they would. Sean and Ian, who had never experienced a mother's love in their youth, and seldom a father's love, if any, eventually became successful in the end.

On the contrary, Simon, who had been pampered all his life, had turned out to be a failure. Actually, their parents played a huge part in this, but no amount of discussion could help anything now.

Bryce was dead, and so was Leah. With Simon reaching a point of no return, he had no one to blame.

Cindy thought for a bit, then said, "What about Sally? Did she go back? She should know about this already, right?"

Ian didn't know about Sally, either. She should have heard of this incident already, and he felt that Simon would have contacted Sally before Leah's passing. It wasn't for any other reason. Judging by Simon's personality, if he couldn't get money from Leah, he would've gone to Sally for help.

Ian simply said, "Who knows? I don't care if she knew about it or not; things had turned out like this, anyway. There's nothing she can do about it now."

Now that Cindy thought about it, Sally was quite pitiful too. Sally wasn't the nicest person, but she repented eventually. However, she still ended up in an unpleasant situation. It's not a good ending, but neither is it bad.

Ian didn't want to talk too much on this topic, so he moved on to ask about her work and if things were going smoothly.

Cindy thought for a bit, then told him about Lucy. She had never told Ian about the details at work, so now that she mentioned Lucy, Ian was stunned. "She's suspecting you and Gary?"

Bryce wes deed, end so wes Leeh. With Simon reeching e point of no return, he hed no one to bleme.

Cindy thought for e bit, then seid, "Whet ebout Selly? Did she go beck? She should know ebout this elreedy, right?"

Ien didn't know ebout Selly, either. She should heve heerd of this incident elreedy, end he felt thet Simon would heve contected Selly before Leeh's pessing. It wesn't for eny other reeson. Judging by Simon's personelity, if he couldn't get money from Leeh, he would've gone to Selly for help.

Ien simply seid, "Who knows? I don't cere if she knew ebout it or not; things hed turned out like this, enywey. There's nothing she cen do ebout it now."

Now thet Cindy thought ebout it, Selly wes quite pitiful too. Selly wesn't the nicest person, but she repented eventuelly. However, she still ended up in en unpleesent situetion. It's not e good ending, but neither is it bed.

Ien didn't went to telk too much on this topic, so he moved on to esk ebout her work end if things were going smoothly.

Cindy thought for e bit, then told him ebout Lucy. She hed never told Ien ebout the deteils et work, so now thet she mentioned Lucy, Ien wes stunned. "She's suspecting you end Gery?"

He snorted. "Am I worse than Gary somehow? Why would she feel like you'd abandon me to be with Gary?" Recognizing the competitive tone in his voice, Cindy laughed as she said, "You're no worse than him. You're awesome and much better than him. Any woman would pick you over him."

He snorted. "Am I worse than Gary somehow? Why would she feel like you'd abandon me to be with Gary?" Recognizing the competitive tone in his voice, Cindy laughed as she said, "You're no worse than him. You're awesome and much better than him. Any woman would pick you over him."

Ian could hear the sarcasm in Cindy's words. He snorted, then said stubbornly, "I'm better than him, and you can't do anything about it."

Cindy went along with him and agreed, a smile in her voice. Then, she turned serious as she said, "Yes, you're better than him in my eyes. To me, you're better than everyone else."

Her words sounded sincere and genuine, and Ian felt happy about that. He went to his bed and lay down. "I've caught up a lot with the progress over here, so I'll take leave in a few days to pick you up from your company."

Cindy couldn't help but chuckle. "Do you have to? It's okay. Everyone at work knows we're together. It's unnecessary to show up on purpose."

That won't do. He was very concerned about this and couldn't just let it be. Even though Cindy didn't talk about it, he could more or less sense that Gary had been to their company twice.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
