Chapter 139: 16 Shots
Hearing those words Alexandra felt her heart skip a bit. She wasn't scared
anymore like she was the other day he had declared she was his. This time it was different, she felt whole and safe, maybe it was because she was just his imagination or the mate bond thing. Nathaniel didn't know for sure but he was sure about was that he wanted her and wasn't going to wait any longer.
He was going to shout out how he feels to her and hope that Alexandra would choose him this time and not Adam Hawthorn, who he had considered his biggest rival.
"You will tell her this right?"
"Yes I want to"
"You should do that Nathaniel, I will be very happy"
"You are just in my mind but Alexandra isn't. She's mad at me" His face saddened
"You should get her back"
"I would love to go to her"
"Then go, what's stopping you?"
"I hate myself, I'm mad at myself for not trusting her" Tears crowd his eyes as memories of the past flood his mind.
He couldn't still believe he had said those words to Alexandra and almost lost his cool. He stared at his hand, disgusted at himself for lifting nds to hit her.
"What's wrong?"
"I almost hit you" He whispers causing her eyes to widen.
"Wow!" She states and for a moment lost for words.
"I raises my hands and I almost hit her, I tried to. No, I wanted to hit her" Tears drop on his cheeks but he quickly wipes them off.
"Alexandra doesn't hate you"
"That's not true, you should have seen the look in her eyes" He chuckled softly moving toward the bed, attempting to sit down when the memory engulfs him once more and he remembers how he pushes her against the bed while trying to hit her.
"It was here"
"What was?". She asked unsure
"I pushed her against the bed and tried to hit her, I was really mad at her" He admits
"Alexandra would never forgive me for not trusting her"
"Don't jump to conclusions"
He snapped. "I know her! She hates me, Alexandra is pissed off at me"
"You can change that"
"How?"
"You know what to do Nathaniel"
Without a doubt, Nathaniel knew what to do but he wasn't sure Alexandra would be glad to see him, he hurt her when he choose to trust Adam and doubt her words.
"Alexandra has never doubted me, she may have but she always trusts me but I did the reverse and for that, I will have to make up for it"
"Don't sit in here and stare at the moon, if you want her then go to her and don't hesitate"
Staring into her eyes, Nathaniel had things running through his mind, he knew what he wanted yet he couldn't bring himself to do it.
"Is time for you to go" he states and she smiles.
He closes his eyes and opened them back and she was gone.
"What should I do now?" He looked at the moon, moving closer towards the window when his wolf howled out towards the moon and he realises that his wolf was awake.
This was the first time in so many years that his wolf howled angrily, he could tell it was mad at him for what he did to Alexandra.
"How could you do that to her?" His wolf states.
"I didn't mean to do it"
"You doubted her"noveldrama
"I wish I can go back in time"
"Then go back in time and retract back your words"
"She hurt me as well"
"But she apologized"
"I know"
"You have no excuse, Alexandra was the one thing you should have protected, she is our mate, and protecting and trusting her should have been your aim"
"I'm sorry!" Nathaniel groans, mad at himself.
He hated that his wolf scolded him but he couldn't blame him, he hurt Alexanda in the most unimaginably manner. That pushed her to say those words to him.
"Are you yelling at me? You should be ashamed of yourself. I let you out and yet you shouldn't trust what is ours"
"I'm not yelling at you but am mad at myself, I don't need you to scold me any further"
"You call this scolding, I'm going soft on you"
"I think I would hurt her"
"You should have thought about your words before saying anything to her and you
even dared to her. How unfortunate"
"Good a thing I didn't hit her otherwise she would hate me"
"She's mad at us now boy"
"I will make it up to her"
"You better and you better get on your knees when you do that"
Nathaniel scoffed, he was mad at himself but getting down on his knees to plead
for forgiveness would bruise his ego.
"Are you serious? I should keep my dignity at least"
"What sort of dignity? You already lost it when you choose to turn your back on her"
"I didn't turn my back on her"
"You did"
"I didn't! When?"
"She asked you for help but instead of helping her, you went ahead accusing her"
Nathaniel's eyes widened, he had forgotten all about that. Arguing with her made him forget the most important thing werewolves do; to always be beside your mate when difficulty arises.
The Luna fights together with the Alpha to defeat enemies trying to invade their territory and the Alpha takes care of the mate, his father had thought him this when he was a little boy and Nathaniel had grown making a promise to himself to always protect his mate.
Giving up his life while trying to save his mate was what he had always thought of doing when he made that promise but now he had broken it and that shattered him completely as he falls to the ground.
