The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha

Chapter 137: Our rules

When Nathaniel falls to his knees, his eyes fall on the moon staring down at him, and a wave of guilt overwhelms his soul causing tears to brim down his cheeks.

He had her right under his roof like he always wanted, life gave him a chance with his true mate yet he let his curiosity and jealousy cloud his sense of reasoning, and Alexandra escaped from him.

"Alexandra" Her name echoes in his head

She was gone and he didn't get a chance to talk to her, he wanted to make amends, to play with her and introduce her to his pack just as she did to him.

Rubbing against his bleeding heart while still weeping, Nathaniel could see the emotions in his eyes. He stared out the window wondering how she got past the guards for a moment, pushing the thought aside when he recollects that she was an Alpha so jumping down from the building and above the fence wasn't a big deal.

Standing up, he wiped his tears, and slowly advanced towards the window. The night breeze engulfed his skin and he imagined Alexandra sitting by the window smiling at him like she often does.

"Stop that" He whispers and attempts to touch her but she disappears causing his heart to ache even further. Alexandra has never disappeared right before him except he wanted her to but now she was gone even when he wanted her to be there, so close to his heart.

He couldn't fathom what was happening, he was sure he wanted her next to him but it felt as though she was gone from his life and heart so he couldn't reach her anymore.

"Alexandra!" He yells

"Where are you, Alexandra?" He asked to hope that he would see her imagination once again then maybe he would feel much better.

"I miss you very much"

"I have a lot to say to you that I wish I said earlier but I could, I lost control and said that I shouldn't have"

Leaning against the wall, he looks around the room, her scent filling his nose, the memories of her time while she stayed in his house invades his mind making him see the bigger picture.

She would have been his since he claimed her and she was her mate but he choose to be selfish and distrusted her even when she told him to kiss her, Nathaniel refused. That hurt her so much and made her feel dirty yet she didn't give up since she knew she hurt him and yearned for his forgiveness and touch.

"I should have trusted her"

"I shouldn't have doubted her words when she came clean"noveldrama

"I should have known she had nothing to do with Adam Hawthorn" Feeling his adrenaline surge through his body, he throws a hard punch against the wall, wanting nothing more than to hurt himself.

That way it would ease the pain in his heart for being such a fool but Nathaniel knows one thing, it will never bring his Alexandra back. She was gone and had no hope of ever returning to the crimson clan unless he came for her.

What he did to her arched her heart in a way she couldn't understand and even though she hated to feel that way, Alexandra couldn't help but feel dirty and foolish.

She opened up to him, letting him into a part of her life that no one knows about and although she never told him about her rebirth, she had a good reason for choosing to keep quiet until she gets answers.

"My love comes back home," He thinks to himself, realizing she was his love. She has always been, right from the first day he set his eyes on her and although it wasn't love at first sight. It wasn't also just for the position as well.

He could pick any woman to be his Luna but he came for just her and no one else because in the end, no one can make him feel the way she makes him feel.

"You make me feel different and I should have known"

"I should have seen the handwriting"

"It was right there, staring at me but I choose to be a fool"

"You call me names and I almost lost my cool, should have seen the truth in your eyes when it was staring down at me"

"I should have sensed the truth"

"I'm your mate, that's what I should have seen and nothing more"

Beaten up, Nathaniel wanted to rip himself apart for being such a fool. In his heart, he vowed to protect and while she was attacked in the woods he wasn't there to protect her so she ended up getting brutally beaten and almost on the verge of death now, even after she let him in so close, with hopes that he would always stand by her side.

Nathaniel turns around doing the very opposite and that was too much for her.

"What have I done?" He rakes his hand through his messy hair.

"This shouldn't be"

"My Alexandra shouldn't have to suffer because I failed to trust her"

Nathaniel wonders who had started the rumor, a part of him already knows the truth but he still wanted to hear it from Alexandra's mouth.

Clenching his jaw tightly, he glares wishing he could go back in time then he wouldn't have hesitated to decapitate Adams's head from his body, that way all of this would have been avoided and Alexandra would still be by his side, rolling her eyes and challenging him like she always did.

Everything about her was mesmerizing him and he didn't know why, his blood boiled for her touch while his skin wanted to always be next to her all day and night long.

"Show yourself to me"

"Alexandra please come" He states, enraged with himself.

"Please Alexandra, show yourself to me"

"I need you" He closes his eyes, and a smile creeps by the corner of his lips.
