"Don't try to stop me again, and don't tell me how to handle things because you have no right to."

Her latter words stunned Elain, leaving her standing awkwardly in front of Finley.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

"Mr. Dean, I never meant to tell you how to handle things. I was simply thinking about your and Samantha's reputation."

"I don't need you to worry about me. If you've got nothing better to do, then leave Samantha's room now."

Am I being kicked out?! Elain's eyes widened, staring at Finley. "Mr. Dean, I—" "Get out."

Tears welled up in Elain's eyes from Finley's harshness. In all her years, she had never been treated this way by anyone. She glanced from Finley to Samantha, then spoke in a pleading tone, "Samantha, please tell Mr. Dean to stop. If someone dies here, it'll ruin his reputation."

"That's none of your concern. If you don't have anything to do, then leave. You're really starting to get on my nerves."

Finley's words left Elain standing there in awkward silence, unsure of what to say. Samantha, on her part, didn't say anything to help her either. She simply watched, waiting. Elain, still desperate, turned to Samantha again. "Samantha, everything I've said is for Mr. Dean's sake. As his wife, shouldn't you tell him. that murder is illegal?"

"That's right. Murder is illegal." Samantha nodded in agreement.

If you knew murder is illegal, why did you try to commit one in the first place?! Samantha didn't have the evidence to prove Elain was a murderer yet, but her intuition told her that Elain was connected to the real killer somehow.

Of course, she didn't actually want Finley to escalate things further in the hospital, so she turned to him and said, "Finley, just hit Noah a couple of times and let him go. Elain's right-escalating this won't do us any good."

Finley, always attentive to Samantha's wishes, immediately complied. He let Noah off with a few punches. Noah, with his face now swollen and battered, sprinted out of the hospital room as fast as he could, practically fleeing for his life.

Once Noah was gone, Finley turned to Elain and delivered a final order. "Samantha needs to rest now. Are you sure you're not leaving?"

Elain hesitated. "I'm leaving now. Take care, Samantha. I'll check on you in a few days."

Samantha nodded, and after Elain left, she turned her attention to Finley, noticing the injury on his hand from punching Noah. Gently, she took his hand and blew on it, her voice filled with concern. "Don't you think it's not worth it to hurt your hand just to beat up a piece of trash?"

"As long as I can avenge you, it's always worth it. But what about your face-does it really hurt?"

Samantha touched her cheek and smiled. "Nope. I exaggerated it."

Finley sighed. "After worry comes heartache, silly girl." With tenderness, he pulled out a small jar of ointment from the drawer and began gently applying it to Samantha's face.
