Chapter 6
Chapter 6
"Mhm..." Fen Qin turned away once more to finish the herbs. Xue Yahui didn't know if it was a good
thing or not. He still couldn't read her mind. He had set the tray down, watching her do her work without
anyone disturbing her.
'It's like she blocked the entire world from her.' Xue Yahui thought and continued staring at her.
Fen Qin could sense that she was being watched, but it did not bother her. She was watched all the This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
time when she was younger. Her childhood was never as pleasant as they all assumed it would be.
Letting the medicine cool, Fen Qin sat down at the balcony part of her home. Pulling out a book before
she sat down, she started turning the pages as Xue Yahui watched her from afar. Feeling a bit annoyed
now, she hadn't been stared at for the longest time. "Do you want something or can I just have you
leave now?" Fen Qin slammed the book down onto the table. Looking at Xue Yahui who smiled seeing
that she could show a bit of her emotions.
"I don't want anything, but you did give me something amusing to see. I'll come by again soon to check
up on you." Xue Yahui waved off going to the door then closing it behind him.
Fen Qin sighed looking to see how arrogant he was now. 'Just because I invited you into my home
doesn't mean that I accept you completely.' Fen Qin went back to reading her book that she wanted to
finish.

Xue Yahui walked along the pathway of Fen Qin's home. He could remember where the traps were, but
he didn't mind if he got caught again. Seeing how he was starting as a good friend with Fen Qin.
Hearing a few light footsteps, Xue Yahui went to the footsteps where he came across two men who
were immortals. They were watching Fen Qin from afar, but they weren't planning anything. It was
more like they were just watching her from afar to inform someone.
"That's her?"
"We finally found her."
"We have to inform them about her being here."
They two men were stopped by Xue Yahui who had knocked them unconscious. "You both will have to
go though me before messing with my friend." Xue Yahui stood up looking down to the two. Taking out
a small bottle, he had the two take one pill each. "Fairy pine, you both won't remember anything that
you saw or where you've been." Xue Yahui dragged the two men out with him.
He sighed seeing how Fen Qin didn't seem to sense them at all. He clicked his tongue a few times,
dragging the men away with him. 'You need to be glad that there's someone looking out for you.' Xue
Yahui started thinking about how vulnerable Fen Qin could be.

Fen Qin was reading her book, knowing that Xue Yahui was outside and walking off. She had heard the
light footsteps from afar. 'I'll handle them once I finish this page.' She didn't want to lose track of her last
page.
Just when she was about to close her book and leave her bookmark between the pages. The men
were handled with, she had heard two thuds which were the two men falling down. Realizing that it was
Xue Yahui who handled them was the only option. There wasn't a lot of people who knew where she
lived. The only one who could've helped her really was Xue Yahui who was just with her not too long
ago.
'He really is getting ahead of himself.' Fen Qin didn't understand why he was trying so hard to help her.
Flipping through the pages, she at least felt like she could finally finish the book.

"Yahui, why did you bring back these suspicious men?" Xue Liang looked to see how her little brother
brought back two unconscious men.
"I found them spying on The Great Physician. I thought it would be a bother for my friend so I took it
into my own hands." Xue Yahui dropped the two men while the guards took over to chain them up.
"When did you become friends with Fen Qin?" Xue Liang never thought that her little brother would
actually have a friend now. He never showed much interest in having a friend besides his close family.
"We happen to know each other often by my resources. She comes by to use some herbs for her
medicines." Xue Yahui didn't want his older sister getting the wrong idea about them both.
'If only you can actually have someone who you can share your life with instead of being a lone man for
life.' Xue Liang sighed seeing Xue Yahui go back to his room. "Rest well. Do not bother to tell me
anything if something is bothering you." Xue Liang was about to leave when...
"Liang?"
"Hm?" Xue Liang turned to look back at Xue Yahui who did seem a bit bothered by something. "Is there
something bothering you now?" Xue Liang never saw her little brother asking for anything or for help.
"I may have to intrude on you. May I see your best men? I wish to have one working alongside me with
loyalty." Xue Yahui didn't know if his older sister would allow it, but he wanted to have someone loyal to
him.
"I will have to ask your brother-in-law if he will allow this. He has to allow these kinds of things, but the
thing is..." Xue Liang didn't exactly know how to put it for Xue Yahui.
"What's wrong?" Xue Yahui didn't even have a clue about what was so hard for Xue Liang to say.
"They will choose you. If no one chooses you then you cannot have anyone alongside you." Xue Liang
told Xue Yahui hoping he wouldn't mind it if no one chose him. He had a reputation of his past which
most immortals were not fond of. Xue Liang felt that it was unfair, but that was the only way to save him
from death's door.
