The Alpha Vampire

Chapter 233 Time To Beat The Hunger

It is with rather great concern that Dean takes his eyes off the road ahead and looks over his shoulder at me. I am almost certain that he can see the turmoil that is building in my very own brown eyes as I meet the hazel of his.

There is only one thing that is for certain as I look over to my beloved, that we are not in the shape that we are required to be as we have not fed in over a week. So taking the welfare of my Vampires into consideration, I am taking the bold step to tell Dean that we shall need to stop and feed.

But first, “I need to speak to Damien and Roberto for a brief moment.”

Dean only shakes his head at me, “What seems to be the problem? We need to push forward.”

“My dear friend, my Vampires are in no state to continue at the present state they are,” I take a rather deep breath as I am about to ask the impossible to a friend, “We need to feed. Cassidy will not make it through another battle.”

There is an immediate shock that creeps onto the face of Sam as he snaps his head in my direction, “You mean in feed, like drinking some poor human’s blood?”

“Well, that is normally how it works. I promise that we shall be as quick as we can be.”

I hear as Dean clears his throat rather loudly though he knows that telling me that he does not approve of it is not going to mean a damn thing to me. So without giving much protest, he brings the car to a stop on the side of some deserted road, “Go speak to your brothers while Sam and I find some fast-food joint around the area.”

Only but relieved, I get from the car and walk back to Roberto and Damien that have been traveling behind us.

Not wanting to alarm our dear Vampire Hunter, I show for Roberto and Damien to join me outside. With my back turned to the car, I speak under my voice to them, “How are you for strength?”

Roberto only but shakes his head at me, “I don’t know how much longer I can carry on with this; I have not fed in over a week, and I am afraid that is taking his toll on me.”

“I do agree with Roberto,” Damien adds as he stands closer to me. “We can always take one of them.”

I cannot help at burst out in laughter at this silly suggestion, but just as I am about to speak again, I have the Vampire Hunter next to me, “Oh, no, you bunch are not stopping so that you can feed.”

“My dear Jacob, you yourself must be feeling the strain from the past day’s constant battle.”

“Yes, I am, but it does not mean that I am going to go kill some helpless, poor soul.”

“Well, I am sure that you are going to tuck your teeth into some poor helpless animal that was killed. Now, don’t you think that it can be compared to itself?”

“No,” he immediately cuts me down. “I will not allow that you go harm a human just so that we can continue on this suicide mission.”

“So,” I only but smile at him with a little chuckle. I lean in closer, “I can always harm you.”

In an instant, he jumps two steps away from me, with his eyes glaring at Dean and Sam in the hopes that they will not let any of this happen.

But then I so casually add, “Do you want any harm to come to Cassidy, for she is the weakest of all of us?”

I hear as he starts to grind on his teeth and only but grunts at me, “You do not play fair, Lucas.”

“And I am only concerned about my beloved, and I am telling you that she will not survive a battle against the Bloodlusters or anything that might throw themselves in our path.”

“Fair,” he only but huffs as he walks towards the car to the side where Cassidy rests her head on the window. “I will take her myself.”

“Oh, no, you are not laying those paws on my wife. Now the boys are  going to head out for a bite themselves; best you scoot along with them instead.”

And with that, I call over for Cassidy, with Dean that follows behind her with nothing but a half a smirk on his face, “Just make this quick, there is a place up the road where we will go have something to refresh ourselves.”

“And what about your friend, the Angel?”‘

“Oh,” he starts to chuckle, “He can stay in the car.”

With everything settled, our group of Vampires heads towards an alley that is conveniently only a few streets from our current location.

As we start to make our way across a deserted parking lot, I hook my arm around the waist of Cassidy and pull her closer to me, then I softly whisper in her ear, “Are you fine to feed yourself while I take another?”

“You mean a woman?” She looks at me with eyes that are difficult to read, “For you know how I feel about that.”

“My beloved, I merely…” And my words are not yet done.

She only but nods her head, “I just want this whole hunt for the Bloodlusters to be over.”

“My beloved, we are nearing the end. I do want to return home myself.”

With that, I pull her even closer into my side to not only shield her from the dangers that are lurking outside waiting for us, but she is all that I truly need to keep going.

So it is with great purpose that four Vampires approach the entrance to an alley. With a hushed voice, I turn to Damien and Roberto, “This will just have to do as we have no time to survey and see where it is the best to hunt in the City.”

And it does not even need any encouragement, and each Vampire finds himself disappearing into the darkness that the lack of light brings. This is where we keep ourselves hidden as we wait for the presence of some human that is brave enough to take this as their way of passage.

This brings us to wait.

And we wait in anticipation.

We wait for what seems to be nearly ten minutes.

Waiting for the first human to make its appearance.

Yet after another ten minutes, we have not yet seen the prospect of a target.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

So I call for Damien and Roberto, “It seems that this is a dead-end just like this alley.” I look over my shoulder in the direction of the buzzing street. “We are going to have to take a risk here and move closer to the main road, yet even behind that building where all the people seem to be exiting.”

And it is with that we find our way to behind what seems to be a nightclub.

From here, we will follow our victims home or whichever direction they are taking. As they say that desperate times do call for desperate measures. Now Damien and Roberto are familiar with taking their prey this way, but Cassidy has only ever made her way through an alley.

With this in mind, I turn to her, “My beloved, I will guide you with what you need to do unless if you wish to take the very same woman that I will be taking down.”

I see a little spark of arousal that grows in her eyes, and at the mere thought of it, I can sense the longing that is growing between those very thighs that I now want so desperately to spread around my waist. Only smiling at her with a wink of the eye, “Now, do not go and plant any suggestions in my head.”

She only but heads off in front of me with hips that are now swaying to utmost purpose, the only purpose of them is to torture me slowly to a point where I have the need to do one rather uncomfortable adjusting.

As I finally catch up with her, I only but growl at the back of my throat, “You are going to pay for that.”

Then after a short ten-minute walk, we are at the back of the club, waiting for the next group of three to make their exit. It does not take very long, and a group of girls makes their way out. They are completely lost in their conversation that they do not see us picking up their pace and following behind.

They start winding their way through the city streets with far too many people around for us to make our move, but just as I thought that this was going to be a futile quest, they turn off into a deserted street.

With only one nod at Roberto and Damien, I give them the permission to go ahead and overpower the two that are trailing off away from their friend. So with large strides, I close in on the one that is lagging behind.

And just as I am about to close that final gap…

“Cassidy, phone Dean immediately.”
