The Adorable Twins and Their CEO Daddy

Chapter 693

Chapter 693 Back To The Todd Family's House

Eventually, Wyatt gathered enough courage to walk into the Todd family's house.

"Mr. Todd, you're finally back!"

The moment the elderly butler saw Wyatt, his eyes lit up and welled up with tears, and he immediately approached the latter.

Feeling a little embarrassed, Wyatt answered, "Erick, do you know where my mother is?

The butler, Erick Vance, wiped his tears away and said, "She's upstairs, Mr. Todd! You should go and see her. It saddens me to say this, but her health is dwindling."

Wyatt's heart sank, but he still thought that this might be another trick.

Once he was upstairs, he knocked on the door of Dora's room. "Mom, it's me."

Moments later, he heard a voice from inside say, "Come in."

Wyatt walked in, visibly uneasy.

Inside, Dora was sitting in a wheelchair by the window. Her face was pale and her legs were covered with a blanket. She looked at Wyatt lightly and said, "It seems you still remember how to come back. I thought you've been so beguiled by that woman that you've forgotten which family you came from."

"Mom, what happened to your legs?"

A look of shock washed over Wyatt's face. He hurried to her side, squatted down, and put his hand on Dora's legs. "Are you okay?" he asked in disbelief.

Dora had used self-harm to trick him before, so even if the butler said that she was ill, Wyatt thought that his mother was just deceiving him again. Thus, he didn't take it seriously.

But to his dismay, she was actually in a bad condition.

Upon seeing the concern on Wyatt's face, Dora's face softened. "It's nothing serious. This is just my rheumatism acting up. I lost my balance and fell down the stairway."

"I'm so sorry, Mom." Wyatt lowered his head, riddled with guilt.

Dora placed her hand on his head, and replied, "I can forgive you as long as you leave that woman and come back home." Wyatt wanted to retort, but he bit his words back. He knew that his mother really wanted him to return to the Todd family, but there was no way he would give up his love.

He was worried about his mother's health, so he didn't refute her and just decided to change the topic. "Mom, let me help you get up."

"Thanks, son. Dora nodded.noveldrama

Cautiously and gently, Wyatt helped her stand up and then they walked out one step at a time.

"By the way, didn't Dad come back to see you after you got yourself hurt?' asked Wyatt.

Dora froze for a moment and then calmed down. "Your father is busy with work. He probably doesn't have the time."

"Mom, enough! Stop making excuses for that asshole!" Wyatt interrupted her, clearly infuriated. "He's busy, you say? If he's so busy with work every damned day, then how come someone found him attend the fashion week with a famous supermodel the other day?"

Agassi Todd and Dora had been living apart for many years, and their relationship had been awful all these years.

He was a playboy who frequently changed girlfriends. Though he had a wife at home, he still preferred to keep numerous mistresses around.

"Wyatt, don't say that! He's still your father, Dora replied calmly. "Our marriage was purely a business decision. I don't care whatever he does outside the confines of this home."

Wyatt clenched his teeth, holding back his anger.

This was how his parents had always been. They were more concerned about personal interest that their relationship. The loveless marriage that they shared also affected Wyatt.

Because he had seen too many conflicts between his parents, he never believed that true love existed; that was, until the day he met Nicole.

"Mom, have you ever been happy all these years?" Wyatt finally asked the question that he had been wanting to ask all his life.

Dora wanted to tell him that she was happy, but she couldn't bring herself to say it.

"Mom, I don't want to end up like you and Dad. I'll live a happy life with Nicole," Wyatt said firmly.

'That woman doesn't deserve you!" Dora suddenly became agitated. "Do you still remember Willard? That woman seemed to be helping Eliana, but in reality, she was Willard's mistress!"

"That's enough, Mom!" Wyatt didn't expect that Dora would continue to slander Nicole. He was really annoyed and disappointed in her.

"You've been investigating for a long time, but that's all you've found out? Did you find out any other dirt on Nicole? What a coincidence! I was there that day, and it wasn't like that at all!"

"Wyatt, you're only saying that because you've been bewitched by that woman. Do you still not believe me?"

Dora trembled in anger, still intent on making a fuss about this.

"Mom, you always do this. You only believe what you're willing to believe," Wyatt countered.

Disappointed, he put his mother back on the wheelchair and walked away.

"Wyatt! Come back here!"

Dora had never panicked like this before. She was worried that Wyatt would never come back again.

For a moment, she didn't care about her legs anymore. She didn't hesitate to go after Wyatt, but she inevitably fell down from her wheelchair.

"Wyatt!" Dora cried.
