Chapter 1078
Chapter 1078:
Bryan’s gaze drifted to the emotional reunion at the doorway. His tone softened as he said, “I’m just using Christos as bait.”
After spending a considerable amount of time trying to comfort Leyla, Eileen noticed how tired Leyla looked. With a gentle smile, she urged Leyla to return to her room and get some rest. Bryan also hung up the phone and made his way toward the yard. Just then, the sound of a car approached, and the beam of headlights appeared.
The car pulled into the parking lot of the Vazquez Mansion. As soon as the door opened, Keith rushed out. The car’s headlights dimmed, leaving Keith bathed in the glow of a nearby streetlamp. His face reflected a blend of worry and relief.
“Eileen, you’re back!” Keith called out as he walked briskly toward Eileen, taking in her appearance with a mix of suppressed excitement and relief.
“Mr. Aston, it’s quite late. I’m surprised you came all the way here,” Eileen said.noveldrama
Keith shook his head. “You went missing near the Vazquez family’s cemetery. I’ve been searching for you all day there. When I heard you were back, I came straight over. It wasn’t a long drive.”
This suggested that he hadn’t even gone home all day. As Eileen listened to him, she noticed that his clothes were wrinkled and he looked disheveled.
“What happened? Who took you? Did the kidnapper get caught?” Keith asked with palpable urgency.
Before Eileen could answer, Bryan spoke up. “It’s because of some old grudges. The kidnapper has escaped. People are still chasing after him.”
Keith frowned in confusion. “How could that happen? Isn’t Alverton on lockdown? What was the kidnapper’s motive? Does he have any accomplices?”

“I’m not sure. The important thing is that Eileen is back now,” Bryan replied briefly.
“If you don’t understand the kidnapper’s true motives, how can you guarantee Eileen’s safety? What if something like this happens again?” Keith turned to Leyla with a concerned look. Bryan replied briefly, “If you don’t understand the kidnapper’s true motives, how can you guarantee Eileen’s safety? What if something like this happens again?” Keith turned to Leyla with a confused look. Unable to back her concern, he asked, “Have you not caught the kidnapper yet?”
She had been so focused on Eileen that she had forgotten to inquire about the kidnapper.
Eileen picked up on Leyla’s frustration and explained. “I struck a deal with the kidnapper. He let me go, and Bryan allowed him to leave.”
“Why did you agree to that deal? It’s so risky for you. How could you let him go just like that?” Leyla expressed her concern and frustration.
“Leyla, don’t blame Eileen. She was in a dangerous situation. It makes sense that she made that deal,” Keith said gently. “You did the right thing, Eileen. In a situation like that, your safety comes first. You had to agree to whatever the kidnapper asked.”
Leyla glanced over at Bryan. Should she direct her frustration at him then? After all, he was the one who had allowed the kidnapper to leave.
Bryan replied calmly, “Your personal safety is what matters most.”
He agreed with Keith and had no intention of offering further explanations.
“It’s getting late, and Eileen has been through so much these past couple of days. Why don’t you get some rest for now? We can discuss things another day,” Keith said, giving Eileen a comforting pat on the shoulder.
