Chapter 44 – The Grumpy Maid of Honor
The day of Kobe and Honey's wedding finally arrived. As they all got busy, Lyken didn't get the chance to talk to Jada again. When she came back, she arrived late at night and went straight to bed. Jada decided to get some rest for the next day's event. Kobe and Lyken went to the church two hours before the wedding. He insisted on coming early though Honey's parents asked him not to. When they reached the church, Lyken felt uneasy. He sits and stands alternately and he knows Kobe's starting to get annoyed at him.
"Dude, I'm the one who's getting married, but you're the one who looked like your bride just ran away. Can you please settle down?" he teased.
Lyken scratched the back of his head, not knowing how to respond to his best friend. He's actually anxious as to how he'll face Jada and explain to her everything about their misunderstanding. A few more minutes later, they noticed a commotion at the entrance of the church. The host announced that the bride has already arrived.
If that is the case, that means the maid of honor is already here too. That means Jada has already arrived.
She's second to the last in line, right before Honey. As the march started, he saw Jada's beautiful smiling face. She's just smiling casually at the guests but she's very gorgeous.
Before she turned left, they even looked at each other but it felt so awkward. Thankfully, the wedding ended without any mishaps.
After the ceremony, Kobe and Honey requested the maid of honor and the best man to hold hands as they walked out of the church. The same goes for the bridesmaids and the groomsmen. The rest of the entourage did just that, except for Lyken and Jada. She chose to help Honey with her veil instead of holding hands with him.
At the reception, both Jada and Honey changed their outfits. Their dresses are now shorter compared to the gowns they were wearing earlier.
The length of the dress isn't the issue to Lyken. But he got so irritated when he saw the back of it. Her entire back is exposed and she's looking very sexy.
Jada and Lyken gave their speeches, followed by Kobe and Honey's parents. After that, the program continued.
Everything was going according to the organizer's plans. But something seemed off in the middle of the program.
Lyken was surprised when it was time for the throwing of the bouquet and garter. This shouldn't be part of the reception program.
As far as he knows, Honey excluded this part as she finds it too cheesy. But then all the bridesmaids and groomsmen were called for it.
When Honey threw the bouquet, Lyken saw that it was Ada who caught it but he immediately threw it to the side, to Jada. He shook his head, as he seemed to know that something's going on.

Kobe took the mic and talked to the rest of the groomsmen. "Men, sorry! Since it was Jada who caught the bouquet, I can only give the garter to my best friend, Lyken. It won't be the case if the bouquet was caught by someone else, but this is different. You see, something is going on between these two so we want them to have this moment to themselves," he teased and the guests started cheering.
Bambi led Jada and asked her to sit down on the chair, right in the middle of the venue. Lyken was a bit hesitant but he had no choice but to walk over and kneel in front of her.
"Do it right or I'll kick your ass," she whispered, threatening me as she rolled her eyes.
Lyken slipped the garter to her foot, up to her knee. Glancing at her, he pulled it higher. He heard Jada clear her throat as if threatening him but he teased her instead.
He pulled the garter higher until his hands were already inside her skirt. But when she cleared her throat again, Lyken did feel threatened so he withdrew his hands and grinned at her.
The party went on until it was time for Kobe and Honey to leave. They're flying to Playas and they will be staying there for a week before going to Italy. That was Jada and Lyken's wedding gift for them.
Honey and Kobe's parents along with Jada and Lyken went back to the reception venue. They have to wait for all the guests to leave before they can go themselves.
When everyone was gone, they helped the couple's parents gather all the gifts. Kobe's parents decided to have the gifts delivered to their new house.
After making sure that they had already loaded everything into the car, Lyken led Kobe's parents to their car and waited for them to leave. Then he looked for Jada but she couldn't find her anymore.

Looking around and making sure everything's taken care of, he tapped Steve on the shoulder, "I'll go with you guys. The organizers can handle the rest." When they arrived at the hotel, they decided to continue the drinking session. They all went over to Steve and Robin's room, but Jada didn't show up. Lyken was already feeling anxious but he really can't do anything. He wanted to go to her suite but he didn't want to disturb her. She's probably already resting. Letting out a sigh, he decided to just enjoy the drinks. He decided to talk to her some other time. He believes he can still fix his relationship with her. He has to.
If he fails to clear the misunderstandings between him and Jada, they'll probably end up separated for good. And just the thought of that makes him want to go crazy.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
He knows that Honey told him she's going to help him explain things to Jada. But since they already left, he has no choice but to do this on his own.
Lyken knows he won't have any trouble explaining to her, whatever he'll say is the truth anyway. He's not engaged to anyone.
'The problem is, how can I make her talk to me about that?'
Jada's been avoiding him since they got to the venue for the reception. Now she didn't even join them for some drinks.
If this continues, he will need their friends' help just to be able to talk to her. And if worse comes to worst, he'll probably need to tie her down just so he can start explaining to her.
