Chapter 12 - The Confession
Weighing on his feelings, Lyken wasn't sure whether he was mad at her because she left him or because it seemed like what she did before didn't really matter to her. Jada could still smile at him and that smile alone melted his heart. It's unfair. Lyken felt aggrieved.
Lyken immediately walked up to the table when Kobe called him. But their friend was quick to bow his head when he saw Jada glaring at him.
He slowly sat on the seat occupied by Kristoff earlier. He was trying his best not to look at the beautiful woman next to him, forcing himself to pay attention to their friends.
"This is cheating! Why are you guys having a reunion when you know I'm out of the country?" he scolded before scowling at them.
"Pfft, enough with the drama," Kobe cut him off. "I told you we were going out. That's probably why you rushed back because you missed us too!"
Lyken laughed at his best friend. He knew him too well. It's true that he missed everyone, except for Kobe, of course.
It's been a while since everyone gathered. Lyken realized that what happened between him and Jada really affected the group.
"Fine! But I miss your special guest more!" mustering the courage to say something as bold as that, he turned to Jada who was still busy with her phone.
The woman chuckled before turning to face him. "I miss you more!" she exclaimed. Their faces were so close that their lips almost touched. But Jada didn't flinch like it was nothing to her.
'What is going on? Has she really moved? Has she really forgotten about me?' Lyken asked himself as he started to feel cold inside.
He quickly withdrew and turned to look at the table, pretending to find a glass he could use. If not, he might not be able to stop himself and kiss her right there and then.
Steve laughed, "What now dude? You're speechless? I'm warning you, you're looking at the new and improved Jada!" he stated, making the man even more speechless.
"Shhh! Don't scare Lyken, you guys! He might think that I'm a bad girl now because of what you're saying," she smirked, placing a hand at the back of his neck and running it down to his waist.
A strong tingling sensation crept all over his body because of what she did. All he could do was grin and empty the glass in front of him. He didn't even know whose shot glass it was. It's probably the glass Kristoff left. In no less than five minutes, Ada invited Bambi and Jada to the dance floor again. Honey joined them and the guys were left behind.
Lyken moved between Kobe and Steve when he realized that they were all just looking at him while he was watching the people on the dance floor. Truth be told, he was only watching Jada.
"Were you shocked after finally meeting Jada 2. 0?" Robin asked, trying to get Lyken's attention.
"Bro, let me ask you," this time it's Kobe. "Are you sure nothing happened that night that could be the reason for your breakup?" he pried. Lyken shook his head, brows knitted.
"If you could only talk to her when she's sober, you'd see how much she's changed. She's definitely changed a lot. It's as if something triggered her to be like that," his best friend narrated.
Lyken suddenly thought of something. Until now, he hasn't told them, even Kobe, what he did that night.
However, he believes that Jada doesn't know anything about that. If she did, she would have told Honey and Honey would have told Kobe. Lyken would have known then.
Besides, according to Honey, Jada's car was there when she came home from the party. That means Jada didn't leave at all. Besides, how can she when she's sick?
"To be honest, I don't know how to answer that either," Lyken glanced at him. The words coming from his mouth were almost whispered, he didn't even know if they heard him. After a few more minutes, the girls and the pinks rejoined them. "It's already 11 PM. Are we just gonna stay here?" Jada asked as soon as she sat down. "Let's go for another round somewhere else!" Robin suggested.
"KTV!" the pinks exclaimed.
So everyone decided to look for a KTV bar nearby. When they got in, everyone comfortably sat down.
Lyken sat near the door, at the end of the couch, like he used to. Jada was about to go past him when Robin pulled her down, making her sit between him and Lyken. She didn't react at all but Lyken's eyes widened after what Robin did. He just winked at Lyken in return, teasing.
Honey and the pinks started looking at the songbook, while he was just quietly watching them. He's curious to see what was the Jada 2.0 they're talking about.
It's almost an hour, but he's still not noticing anything unusual about her. Except for what she did to him earlier.
Lyken was surprised though, when she poured beer into her glass and drank it, bottoms up. Robin even clapped at her, as if praising what she did.
Jada even raised both her arms like she had won a competition. Lyken glared at Robin, wanting to tell him there was nothing great about what Jada did, but the man just stuck his tongue out at him.
'Is this what they're talking about?' He'd seen Jada drink before. She can handle her alcohol well, but now, she's like a glutton. Like she's craved it all her life.

Lyken pressed on his temple, suppressing the headache that was about to come. He looked at Kobe, who was also looking at him and he shook his head gently.
Just like before, they asked her to sing again and she gave in without second thoughts. They didn't have to beg, unlike before.
It was Honey who requested the song. She said it was for Kobe. She also said that she wants Kobe to know how she felt when they broke up so that he won't do it again.
'I missed your love since you've been gone,' As soon as she started singing, goosebumps crept all over Lyken. 'Shit! I really missed this woman!' he said to himself.
If only he could hug her right at that very moment, he would. The song was about to reach its chorus, so he sat properly to have a better look at her.
'I'm missing you~ and it's making me blue, yeah.' She continued singing while smiling. She even pointed at herself and then at Lyken when she sang the chorus.
He saw everyone's reaction. Especially Bambi and Ada, who looked like they were having a seizure while screaming.
He felt romantically excited as well, he could even feel his cheeks burning. Honey and Kobe were both looking at him, smiling while whispering something at each other.Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
Jada was well aware of what was going on around him, he knew that. But why does it seem like she's not even bothered about it? 'What's this bullshit?'
She started singing another song. It's one by Alanis Morissette this time, one of her favorite artists. Lyken could still remember that.
Lyken was not that familiar with this particular song, so he just ignored it. She was singing peacefully, sitting next to him.
She wasn't doing anything unusual at first, until she turned to Lyken, cupped his face with one hand, and forced him to look at her.
She then continued singing the next line of the song. 'Are you thinking of me when you fuck her?'
Her eyes looked like they were actually asking something. Lyken's mouth fell open but she just smiled sweetly at him and everyone saw that.
They all suddenly fell quiet, even Kobe and Honey were shocked. No one was able to react until the song ended. Even Lyken, especially him. He seemed to have been frozen in his seat. After that number, she just asked who was singing next, then passed the mic to Ada before leaning on Robin's shoulder. Robin seemed to be asking her something as she pointed at her throat. She's probably telling him that it's already hurting after singing for a while. After that, she stood upright as Ada started singing. But it wasn't her or the song that caught my attention.

Bambi laughed at what she said, "But you're the expert now!" the pink exclaimed.
"Of course! I can do it better!" she answered while smugly pointing at herself. She then acted like she was doing something with her mouth. As if she's doing something ridiculous. 'What the fuck?!'
Unable to stop himself, Lyken stood rashly and went out. He headed straight to the restroom. He felt someone following him but he didn't bother looking back to see who it was. When he got inside the restroom, Kobe stepped in, followed by Robin and Steve. Lyken leaned on the sink, facing them. Robin and Kobe were peeing, while Steve washed his face. "What the fuck happened to her?" he blurted out.
Lyken can't hold back the question because he's so surprised at what Jada's been doing. She doesn't look like the Jada he used to love so much.
Well, who was he kidding? It's still her. It's just that some weird entity has gotten into her, that's why she's acting like that.
"Now that you've seen it. Tell us what could've triggered that. We all know that the Jada we met in college up until before the two of you broke up was far from the Jada in that KTV room right now. Spill it man or we don't know how we can help you," it was Kobe, trying to look straight into his face while finishing his business.
Lyken froze. Staring at the floor, he let out a sigh. He's trying to weigh whether he should tell them or not.
"That woman I met at the bar. I brought her home after that night's party," he blurted out. 'There I said it!'
"You're an assho-," Kobe blurted out, but he wasn't able to continue as Steve stopped him.
Lyken was surprised at his reaction. This is the first time he has called him that. He's used to seeing him call his teammates when playing, but this is the first time that he said it directly to him.
His best friend.
"Hold it, dude, let him finish," Steve tried to get between us, as Kobe pulled me by the collar. When he calmed down, Steve faced me again, "Then?"
Lyken let out a frustrated sigh. He had no other choice but to tell them everything that happened back then.
He knew they'd get mad at him. They love Jada. But Kobe's right. If he doesn't tell them anything, then no one can help him out.
