Simona was genuinely worried that Aiken wouldn’t approve of her relationship with Stephen. After all, he had mentioned it before.

However, Aiken’s views could be quite limited at times, and he placed too much importance on a person’s background. Stephen was a great guy. He was talented and could put up with some of her bad moods while still being fun and spontaneous.

This was the first time she had ever truly liked someone, and she didn’t want to give up on

that so easily.

“Let’s keep walking. We just polished off two huge buckets of popcorn at the cinema, and I feel stuffed,” Simona said, quickly regaining her composure.

Stephen replied with an agreeable nod but seemed lost in thought as he looked down.

The next morning, Skylar woke up early. The sky outside was still dark, and when she opened

her eyes, it was only 4:30 am.

After a quick trip to the bathroom, she realized there was no chance of falling back asleep. She turned on the lights and grabbed her phone, noticing a message from Aiken that he had sent the night before.

Inside was a document, along with his speculations regarding Ned’s identity. Until now, she had only heard Paul’s descriptions of Ned’s background. Seeing Aiken’s thoughts or investigations added more evidence to what she had suspected.

She felt grateful as she read his message. “Thank you, Aiken. I’ve been considering this too. After Mr. Ziegler returned, he mentioned his experience from three years ago and happened to bring up Ned, who was locked up with him.”

Jeremy later told her that the successful rescue of Paul wasn’t just due to the money paid but also because of Aiken’s involvement.

If it hadn’t been for Aiken’s role as a middleman and facilitating communication, the underground factory’s boss would definitely not have released him.

The fate of anyone who entered that underground factory was usually death.

No matter how high one’s social status was before entering, they became nothing more than a mule once inside. They were forced to work according to the demands placed upon them every day, with the constant threat of losing an organ hanging over their heads. Skylar genuinely felt grateful to Aiken.

Just as she finished replying to him, Aiken called,

“You’re still awake at this hour?” Skylar was a bit surprised.

Aiken chuckled lightly. “I often stay up all night. I just finished working out and took a shower. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

Skylar laughed too. “Oh, I see. I thought my message might have woken you up.”

“Do you need me to accompany you to find him after dawn?” Aiken asked.

Since they already had this speculation and supporting evidence, there was no need to wait. Skylar decided to confront the person directly to clarify the situation. She quickly composed herself, her smile fading as she prepared for the conversation ahead.

“Yes, I plan to talk to him in person. I can handle this myself, so you should get some rest. I’ll reach out if anything comes up.‘

Aiken didn’t push back. “Alright.”

After ending the call, Skylar quickly got ready and made breakfast. As for Aiken, he claimed he was going to sleep, but he didn’t rest at all. He had been awake the entire night.

Simona had been so disobedient. After answering his call, she continued to wander the park with Stephen. As dawn approached, they even entered a hotel together. Fortunately, they had gotten two separate rooms.

This was also part of why Aiken looked down on Stephen, All the expenses for staying at the hotel, watching movies, and dining out were all covered by Simona.
