Chapter 913
Morris forced a smile. "Nathalie, dealing with those flashing lights and cold, sterile instruments isn't my thing. And I really can't stand those stern-faced doctors."
Nathalie crouched in front of him, holding his hand gently. "I'll be right there with you, Morris."
Morris looked into Nathalie's deep, clear eyes, feeling like they held the entire night sky, with each star shining just for him.
He couldn't say no to her. "Alright."
But as soon as he agreed, doubt crept in. How was he supposed to handle all those endless tests?
Nathalie let out a relieved sigh.
The next morning.
Jules arrived bright and early at the Stewart Estate, hoping to catch up with Lincoln and Morris. But he was a bit too early; Lincoln and Nathalie were still asleep, leaving Morris, who hadn't slept well, to greet him.
When Morris opened the door and saw Jules, he was momentarily surprised.
Jules felt a bit awkward, offering a greeting, "Morning, Master Nathan, we meet again."
Morris nodded, keeping his tone neutral. "Here to see Mr. Lincoln? I can fetch him for you."
Jules stopped him. "Actually, I came to see you."
Morris raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Oh? Me?"
Morris led Jules to a cozy garden gazebo. Once they were seated, Jules began to speak earnestly. "Lincoln and I go way back; we're practically brothers. If I'd known sooner that you and Vivian were his family, I wouldn't have been so rude that day."
"Nathan, I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have acted like that."
Morris stayed silent.
The atmosphere turned tense and quiet.
Jules studied Morris, wondering if Lincoln had gotten it wrong about him. Was this young man not as insightful and composed as Lincoln had said? If he held grudges, Jules might need to rethink his promise to Lincoln.
After a long pause, Morris finally spoke.
"Whether or not you offended me isn't the point. What really matters is why you did."noveldrama
Jules furrowed his brow, chewing over Morris's deep words until a look of realization hit him.
"Honestly, before I met you, my younger brother talked to me. He gave me a pretty negative impression of you."
Morris replied, "And do you know why he was so concerned about someone he didn't know?"
Jules thought for a moment and
said, "He mentioned you had a run-in
with Greta. Maybe his sense o€1.9
justice got the better of him, and he judged you unfairly."
Morris looked at Jules, shaking his head in disappointment.
Given that Jules was his biological father, Morris decided to tie up this loose end amicably.
"Mr. Jules, please remember what I'm about to say. Consider it a friendly heads- up."
Jules smiled, skeptical that Morris could really offer any insight. He wasn't a psychic or a miracle worker.
"I'm all ears," Jules said, choosing to indulge Morris.
Morris continued, "You're Jules,
head of Vincent Corporation. Yoursel
met countless people, yet your own to you."

"Your younger brother isn't actually your brother."
"Greta's help to Mrs. Vincent wasn't just a coincidence."
With these statements, Jules's expression changed dramatically.
"Those are some big claims, and I'm struggling to believe them. Sorry, but I can't just take your word for it."
Morris replied, "Whether you believe me or not is up to you. Dig a little deeper, and you'll find out if I'm telling the truth."
What do you think?
