Chapter 910
After Morris was locked up for financial crimes, Nathalie, in a bid to clear his name, poured all of Maple Company's million-dollar assets into his redemption. Morris, in turn, generously donated his patented invention to the police department, working alongside them to crack a major case, which earned him commendations and a reduced sentence.
When Morris finally got out, he turned down high-paying offers from prestigious companies and headed back to Rainbow Bridge. Nathalie was there to welcome him home with open arms.
Lincoln shared every detail of Morris's journey with his old friend, from their initial clashes to their eventual camaraderie. Jules was left speechless.
"What an incredible bond those two share!" he exclaimed. "One has a heart of gold, the other is full of gratitude, and together they helped each other rise from the ashes. It's heartbreaking how fate tore them apart."
Lincoln, his voice thick with emotion, explained, "Nathan was terrified that Vivian would be devastated if she found out about his terminal illness, so he secretly planned to leave my family. I never understood why he saw the Sharp family as a refuge, or why you, Jules, didn't see his worth and turned him away."
Jules was filled with regret. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? If I had known, I'd have done everything in my power to help him."
Lincoln gave him a knowing look and said, "This kid may seem reserved, but it's because he's never had a true confidant. He's used to keeping everything bottled up."
Jules nodded, "I get it now, Lincoln. I'll personally reach out and invite him to join Vincent Corporation."
Lincoln replied, "Thanks, Jules."
Jules shrugged it off, saying, "We're like brothers; there's no need for thanks. Besides, I really admire the young man."
As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with vibrant hues, the Sharp family gathered around their long dining table. Mrs. Vincent presided at the head, with the eldest and second eldest on either side.
When the last dish was served, Jules seemed lost in thought, not making a move to start. Mrs. Vincent watched him silently.
Snapping back to the present, Jules finally spoke, "Mother, I might need to make an exception and bring a young man into Vincent Corporation's cybersecurity department."
The fourth member of the Sharp family jumped up, protesting, "Big brother, cybersecurity is a crucial role. Anyone hired needs to be thoroughly vetted for their skills and character, and approved by all shareholders."
He had a hunch about who Jules was considering for the role. Jumping straight from the tech department to cybersecurity showed just how much Jules valued him.
Mrs. Vincent cast a calm yet firm glance at Jackson, "Why are you so worked up? Neither your second nor third brother has spoken."
Realizing her tone might've been sharp, she softened, "Your brother knows what he's doing. The
company is his, and he knows how to run it. If he makes a mistake, it's his to own."
Jackson pressed on, "Mother, do you know who he's planning to hire?"
Surprised, the matriarch put down her chopsticks and asked, "Sounds like you know something I don't?"noveldrama
