Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 885

Brad's expression was anything but pleasant, so Zara wisely avoided starting a conversation with him.

Instead, she chatted incessantly with Nadine. As colleagues working under Seraphina, and given that they hadn't known each other long, they had plenty to talk about. Their conversation flowed naturally, full of energy and laughter.

Meanwhile, Brad sat there with a face so sour it looked like everyone in the room owed him a fortune. His expression couldn't have been more miserable.

Seraphina, who was more familiar with him, occasionally leaned over to chat with him. He responded in short, clipped sentences, but his face remained dark the entire time.

Throughout dinner, Zara's eyes kept darting toward Brad, which didn't escape Nadine's notice. Her sharp intuition as a woman told her there was something unusual in the way Zara looked at him.

As a woman herself, Nadine understood what that look meant. But she wasn't planning to say anything-she just wanted to watch and see how things played out.

Brad's love life was none of her business. Even if he remarried, it was his prerogative. In fact, a part of her wanted to encourage Zara and Brad to be together. If they got together, perhaps Brad would finally stop bothering her.

Brad sat with Seraphina on his left and Nadine on his right, while Zara sat next to Nadine. Hence, whenever Brad looked at Nadine, his peripheral vision inevitably caught Zara as well. Every time he looked at Nadine, Zara would boldly meet his gaze.

Unfortunately for Zara, Brad's focus was entirely on Nadine, and he never noticed her at all. Still, every time Brad's eyes traveled past her, Zara couldn't help but feel giddy. "Ms. Scott, can I call you Nad?"

Nadine smiled. "Sure, if that's what you prefer."

Zara linked her arm with Nadine's, smiling innocently. "I'll call you Nad, then! What perfume are you using? You smell amazing!"

Nadine patiently explained that she wasn't wearing any perfume. The scent came from her body wash. She even shared the brand and product name with Zara in detail.

Thanks to Seraphina's liveliness and Nadine's efforts to keep the atmosphère pleasant, Brad's hardened expression softened, and things weren't as tense. By the time the final dish, steak tartare, arrived, the mood was almost cheerful.

Zara's eyes lit up when the waiter placed the dish on the table. "Wow! Mr. Hamilton must have ordered this for you, Nad! This dish is so extravagant—I've only ever seen it on TV. Mr. Hamilton is so good to you!"noveldrama

Her eyes crinkled as she smiled at Nadine. Then, she deliberately nudged her arm with a teasing smile. "Is he trying to pursue you?"

It was impossible not to notice

Brad's possessiveness over Nadine. Unless someone was blind, they'd see it plain as day. The fact that he had checked himself into the hospital and went as far as asking Seraphina to mentor Nadine spoke volumes. Who would believe him if he said he wasn't pursuing her?

Seraphina's eyes sparkled with intrigue, her expression that of someone eager to witness a juicy drama unfold, much like a squirrel who had just found a pine nut. Since she had just returned from abroad, she knew nothing of the history between Nadine and Brad. She was usually focused on her academic work and uninterested in gossip.

As soon as Zara's words fell, Seraphina broke into a warm smile. "Is that true? How wonderful! Mr. Hamilton is usually so aloof and reserved-any woman who can make him fall for her must be exceptional!

"Mr. Hamilton is a good man, Nadine. A man this exceptional and wealthy is one in a million. You should be with him! I've got a good feeling about you two! You're perfect for each other-you really are!"

Seraphina clapped her hands with glee as her gaze flitted between Nadine and Brad. The more she looked, the more she was convinced they were made for each other.
