Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 866

Sometimes, Nadine genuinely couldn't understand Brad. How could someone so

sharp in business be so utterly clueless when it came to relationships? Was he

pretending to be clueless, or did his lack of emotional intelligence leave him blind?

When Brad kept bringing Jack up, she had no choice but to yell out the real

reason for their divorce. He had never been there for her when she needed him.

Every hope she placed in him had ended in bitter disappointment.

What was the point of continuing a marriage like that? Thus, she told him the

truth.

"That's all I have to say, Brad. Whether you get it or not is none of my business.

All I want is for us to part on good terms and for you to disappear from my life!"

Her voice was barely audible by the time she finished, soft enough to almost benoveldrama

lost in the wind.

However, he heard her loud and clear. His eyes were bloodshot with emotion as

he stared at her. "How does this have nothing to do with Jack? Don't you love

him? If Jack was still alive, you never would have married me, right?"

"Jack" was a name that was like a thorn lodged deep in Brad's heart, and the pain

was unbearable every time he thought about it.

Nadine had already walked past him, heading to pick Sean up. Yet, after his

words fell, she slowly turned around and looked at him with a sorrowful

expression. "You're right. If he was still alive, I would never have married you!"

With that, she turned and left without a backward glance.

Her face was buried in her hands as she cried and ran off. At that moment, she

lacked the courage to face her son, so she fled to a quiet place to gather herself.

Brad stood rooted to the spot, his

hands clenched into fists as he

watched the woman's figure

disappear into the distance. He then

struck the maple tree beside him.

The tree trembled, and its branches

swayed, much like the state of his

heart-rattled and uneasy.

This was the first time he had confronted Nadine about Jack. But he hadn't

expected her to react so strongly. It was clear just how much Jack meant to her.

Staring at the blood seeping from

his knuckles, his gaze grew cold.

That night, Brad sat in his study for

several hours. The ashtray beside

him overflowed with cigarette butts,

piled so high it could hold no more.

He was waiting for Cameron to give him an answer. He had done something

despicable, after all. It was something of immense importance to him.

At the crack of dawn, his phone finally rang.

As soon as Brad heard the phone

ring, he hurriedly picked it up, his

hand trembling as he pressed the

answer button. His voice was

hoarse as he asked, "How'd it go?"

Cameron, on the other end of the line, was out of breath, his words coming in

bursts. "The... DNA test results... are out!"
