Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 864

Nadine had seen the news online, though not in detail. She didn't go through

every article. But the consensus was clear: everyone was blaming her for treating

Brad as a substitute and playing both sides.

Truth be told, she hadn't treated Brad as a replacement. Maybe, in the very

beginning, the thought had crossed her mind. But it didn't take long for her to let

go of that idea because she could clearly distinguish Brad from Jack, despite their

near-identical appearances.

Brad didn't smile often, nor did he talk much. Jack, on the other hand, had a

radiant smile-full of energy and positivity. Sometimes, she didn't even need

words to tell them apart. A single smile was enough to distinguish the two.

As for the whole "substitute" thing, she could only admit that it might have been

true at first. Over time, however, that perception faded.

It was because of that same face that she fell in love with Brad. But in doing so,

she also felt she'd lost the right to love Jack.

Even though Jack had passed and could never smile at her again, she couldn't

forgive herself for falling in love with someone else after he passed. How could

she? After all, they'd promised to only love one another-and she had broken that

promise.

The passing scenery, as well as the faint sound of quiet breathing in the car, kept

reminding her that they were on the way to Phoenix Villa. It was a place she had

called home for more than six years. Nadine had once loved it there, believing it

to be her safe haven, her refuge. That was until Jean returned.

Had she not seen how lovingly Brad treated Jean, Nadine would believe that his

current kindness toward her was genuine. But after witnessing the way he treated

Jean, she could no longer believe he was being sincere, no matter how nice he

was toward her.

If he truly loved her, how could he be so affectionate with Jean? True love was

exclusive. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it favoritism.

Take Sean, for example. When he

was in Pittsbrew, he bought gifts for

Keira but didn't get anything for his

other classmates. He'd also

explained that he only got Keira a

gift because he liked her. If he got

everyone else a gift, it wouldn't be a

special gesture anymore.

Even a child understood this concept. So, how could Brad not? Brad gave all his

affection to Jean because he loved her. Anything he later gave Nadine-those

same gestures and words he once reserved for Jean-felt meaningless.

The drive to Phoenix Villa was filled

with silence. When they finally

arrived, Brad broke the silence as he

got out of the car. "Don't worry about

the stuff online. I'll handle it. But

don't you think you owe me an

apology for using me as a

substitute?"

Since she couldn't understand his feelings, he decided to spell them out. He didn't

want to leave her guessing since she wasn't paying him any attention in the first

place. No matter how many times she guessed, the outcome would still be the

same.

Nadine had just closed the car door

when she heard Brad bring up thenoveldrama

substitute issue and demand an

apology. She hadn't planned on

apologizing because she had only

seen him as a substitute in the

beginning, but that had

changed-she had genuinely fallen

in love with him.

But then it hit her; even though their marriage had ended, Brad was still hung up

on the issue. That alone showed he had come to find her because he couldn't let

it go.

Nadine took a deep breath and decided to give him what he wanted. "I'm sorry. If

that issue upset you so much, I'm willing to apologize. I'm genuinely sorry!"
