Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 851

In public, Brad always appeared immaculate and elegant. His hair was perfectly

combed, his shirt had not a single crease, and even his walk exuded grace.

In private, however, he shed much of his cold demeanor. Still, he maintained a

stern expression and spoke little, making him seem unapproachable. Even when

he was ill, he'd pretend to be fine by putting on a façade. Perhaps, he feared

people seeing his vulnerable side.

At this moment, Brad was leaning weakly on the couch. His left hand clutched his

stomach while his right held a glass of water. His head was drooped to the side,

and his face was pale, looking frail and weak.

Seeing his condition, Nadine knew he had a stomachache. She quickly

rummaged through her suitcase, took out her antacids, and handed two pills to

Brad.

"Here," Nadine said curtly. Her words for Brad were sparse these days, not

wanting to speak to him more than necessary.

Ever since their divorce, she realized she no longer felt anxious or worried about

his feelings. She also no longer cared about his mood and was living comfortably

with Sean.

So, when Brad constantly kept trying to make his presence felt around Nadine, it

only disgusted her. It was a bit too late for him to show his affection now.

Brad released his grip from his stomach. He accepted the medicine Nadine

handed him, popped the pills into his mouth, and swallowed them with a sip of

water. After taking the medicine, he put down the glass but continued to lean

weakly against the couch.

In a feeble voice, Brad asked Nadine, "Can I rest her for a while?" His stomachnoveldrama

really was hurting, and he was truly feeling weak. Although there was a bit of

acting involved, he wasn't outright lying.

Seeing the paleness on his face, Nadine agreed. "Fine, lie down for a bit. Leave

when you feel better." With that, she turned back to her bed, lay down, and closed

her eyes to sleep. She hoped that Brad would leave once he felt better.

However, Nadine was wrong. Just as she was settling in, she heard Brad's faint,

pained groans filled with agony.

Nadine repeatedly told herself not to care about Brad. He already took the

medicine and would get better soon. She didn't need to worry about him.

But despite that, Brad's low moans made it impossible for Nadine to fall asleep.

Brad's groans became more

frequent. Nadine then abruptly threw

off her blanket, got out of bed, and

walked over to the couch. With

suppressed anger, she asked, "Brad,

what exactly do you want? Haven't

you taken the medicine?"

Brad had a history of stomach issues. Nadine had known about it from the day

they got married. She thereafter spent years carefully tending to him so as to not

agitate his stomach.

Brad had stomach ulcers. That meant he couldn't go hungry, eat cold food,

overeat, or consume greasy foods. There were all sorts of dietary restrictions he

had to abide by.

Nadine had even bought a medicinal recipe book. She followed the recipes

exactly and prepared various medicinal dishes for him to help with his stomach

issues.

Her efforts eventually paid off. After five years of careful nurturing, Brad's stomach

indeed improved significantly.

However, it was also around this

time that he started attending more

social gatherings, which inevitably

involved drinking. To prevent his

stomach from hurting, Nadine would

make nourishing soups for him

frequently.

Logically speaking, Brad should've felt much better after taking the medicine she'd

given him. So why was he still groaning?

Still lying weakly on the couch, Brad looked at Nadine approaching with an

apologetic smile. "I'm sorry. I didn't have dinner. I was waiting for you and Sean. I

got so hungry that I felt dizzy."

Brad had been waiting outside the

hotel for Nadine for over nine hours

without eating or drinking. His

stomach did indeed improve after

Nadine's long-term care-but he still

couldn't go hungry. The moment he

got hungry, problems would arise.

After he said this, his face bore a faint smile. It looked so casual that there wasn't

a slightest hint of blame directed at Nadine.
