Chapter 1287
Besides worrying about his own career, Charles was worried about his sister. So, Skylar told him about Ned actually being Joe.
Charles' eyes widened when he heard it. "Is he really Joe? Are you sure?"
If Ned was indeed Joe, everything would be like a movie plot.
Recently, he even received a script about identity-switching revenge stories but had yet to read it, thinking the premise was too far-fetched. But now, a real-life script was playing out before him.
"I'm 99 percent sure," Skylar confirmed.
It made Charles take a deep breath before saying, "I need a few bites of food to process this."
After a few bites and a few gulps of water, he continued, "So, he really lost his memory and doesn't remember anything? Or is he deliberately hiding his identity?
"If he's just pretending, then he's seriously cunning. You don't have to go after him. You're beautiful and capable, with plenty of admirers. There's no need to go after a cunning man. But if he truly lost his memory, that's a different story."
It wasn't a brag, but Skylar was genuinely outstanding.
Some of his colleagues from the same set had asked for her number after seeing her. But to Charles, none of them were good enough for Skylar. Ever since Joe, everyone else seemed subpar. Charles had raised his standards without him even realizing it.
Skylar chuckled and said, "There aren't so many conspiracies. I've already checked the hospital records from when Ned was in the car accident. He did indeed suffer from memory loss."
It was no wonder Charles had such an active imagination. He was an actor, after all.
"If it's memory loss, that's easier to deal with. He'll probably regain his memory again someday. But have you considered his current fiancée?" Charles asked.noveldrama
Skylar shook her head lightly. "I haven't thought that far ahead. I'll return to Murida first and then take it one step at a time."
"In my opinion, that fiancée of his
must be a two-faced angel or a conniving bitch. Think about it-even
if two people look the same, their e
personalities and other aspects are bound to differ. How could she not notice anything when they're together all the time?" Charles analyzed.
It made him uneasy when he thought about Skylar facing such a woman. He had seen plenty of those in the entertainment industry-each one more troublesome than the last.
They always claimed innocence while blaming others, laying traps wherever they went. He was always reluctant and wished they would stay far away from him.
Charles had always felt that their presence affected his appetite.
Skylar nodded and said, "Charles, your analysis makes sense."
"Of course. When you're over in Murida, make sure to keep me updated on everything. I'll help you figure things out," Charles said, still a little worried. If his schedule weren't so packed, he'd have wanted to go with her to Murida himself
An hour later, Skylar left the set and went home. She had already informed Janine that she would be cooking dinner tonight. So, she bought the ingredients on her way home.
After dinner, Janine said, "Don't go back today. Just stay over."
"How did you know I wanted to stay?" Skylar asked with a smile.
Janine paused for a moment and then couldn't help but laugh.
"Well, we're mother and daughter, after all. I also noticed you're planning to return to Murida in the next few days, aren't you?"
"Mom, you're right. My flight is tomorrow morning," Skylar nodded.
Janine's smile faded slightly before saying, "My visa will be ready soon. I'll make the arrangements at the company and visit Murida for a
month or two to keep you company and visit Mrs. Martin Senior. If anything happens before I'm there, call me or your brothers.
"Alright, Mom, don't worry," Skylar said, nodding reluctantly.
Just then, there was a sudden loud knock at the door. It sounded very urgent.
