Chapter 12 Dream told
Tyler
I didn’t like the way Brodie MacMillan put his hand on her shoulder, and I don’t understand why she let him do that to her. But Brodie was not the only thing that irritated me the most that morning.
She was feverish, hadn’t had breakfast, and obviously hadn’t taken her pain medication. Jessica was being her usual, I don’t need any help, I can do everything in my own way situation, that was why I took her back to her apartment.
I texted Larry to cover for me at the office, and before he texted back and asks why, I told him to talk to Kayleigh.
“So, eat… I’ll make you some tea.”
“Okay,”
She looked worried but sits on the dining chair and digs through her large purse for her brunch.
A freaking sandwich!
I thought we were past that, I shook my head and started to order lunch and chocolate cake for dessert. Food arrived fifteen minutes later, she was just having her tea after finishing her sandwich.
“Drink your pain medication, then you can have your dessert.” I was still upset that I was giving her instructions as I would to a kid.
She squinted her eyes but said nothing while I was unwrapping my lunch and sit next to her.
She looked like she wanted me gone, maybe she’d feel better if she gets some rest, maybe I invaded her sense of peacefulness.
“Why are you babysitting me, you’ve watched me eat, I’ve taken my medication, you can leave.”
The weird thing was, Jessica looked nervous. She was blushing every now and then, tensing on her shoulder, telling me in silence that I need get out of her apartment.
She was truly not comfortable with me being there, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something more behind her awkwardness.
“I’m still on my lunch break and our burgers already here, might as well have some lunch. Try the fries, they’re good.”
I still need to question her about the dream, I was not ready to leave her apartment. Not without knowing about the dream and if she would be okay should I leave her so soon.
“But I already eat my sandwich, I can’t possibly eat a burger.”
“You ate like a mini sandwich, no wonder you’re so skinny. Look, I won’t tell you what you should eat. But, Jess, you’re working too hard to just survive hours by eating that small sandwich. Just keep the burger for your late lunch, but eat the fries.”
She pouted adorably but she looked at me when I took a big bite of my burger.
The look was different, I can see the color of her cheeks slowly turning to another shade of pink. It was too cute for me not to comment on it, but she was giving lame excuses about wanting more water and leave me to the kitchen.
I let her go and finish my burger then followed her to the kitchen where she was still drinking her water.
“That thirsty huh?” I smile and drink the water that she had poured for me earlier.
“Tyler, seriously, what are you still doing here?”
She looked a bit annoyed, but strangely Jess didn’t look too eager to kick me out of her apartment when I move closer to her side.
“So, tell me what’s the dream about?”Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
I teased her while spooning her the moist chocolate cake. I didn’t actually expect her to open her mouth and let me watch as the tip of her tongue licked her lip and let out the softest delicious moan that just made me twitched under the belt.
“I’m not sure you’re ready for my dream.” She took a step forward and I actually stepped back from the sheer intense as I try to hold myself from lunging forward and scare her away.
“Try me?” my stupid mouth was out of control as it started blurting out words that I shouldn’t have.
“You.”
“Huh?” I was not sure I was hearing it right, but her face was telling me all. She flushed to the deepest shade but bravely looked at me.
“You! I dreamt about you, happy? you can go now.” She turned away and put her glass on the sink before trying to slip her way back to the living room.
My hand reaches for her arm and she stopped and looked at me. I had never felt so cheesy in my entire life before. But it felt like time pauses and all I could see was her beautiful face, pale skin, blush cheeks, and the most tempting sets of lips. My thumb caresses them while her eyes search into mine, asking silently what in the hell was I was trying to do.
“I’m happy with the simple knowledge that you even think of me,”
She was silent, seemed entranced with our closeness as so was I. She was waiting for me to continue my words while I was moving closer, my hand was to her small back, lowering myself to whisper in her ear.
“… but tell me, in the dream, did I make you climax?”
The second I realized I said the words, I cursed on the inside. I managed to insult her while I was trying to be on her good side. I was being stupid, talking like a jerk, and I realized that when she slapped me.
Hard.
Maybe it was her looks, her anticipation that made me nervous and say my stupid thought out loud.
“I didn’t mean,”
“Oh yeah, you did!”
“Jess,”
“Don’t, out… just get out.”
I was so close, I got her blushing, and was about to kiss her when I stupidly said the wrong thing. Honestly, I have never been so bad with women before.
“I didn’t mean it like that, Jess… please,”
“Tyler, just go.”
I finally give up and decided to give her some space, I was thinking to check in on her later on that night and maybe have a nice long conversation like the night before.
It took me half an hour to reach the office, Larry was there to greet me with his questions. Kayleigh couldn’t get away faster from him as soon as she saw me. No doubt in my mind she was quick to check on her boss.
“My brother, why are you back?”
“Shut it, I’m going to the gala for mom tonight and I’m dragging you with me.”
“What, fuck no… you’re digging your own hole on that one. It’s your mom, you made the deal with the devil.”
“Dude, she’s your mom too. Ah, come on, I’ll owe you. I just need to keep my mind away from things.”
“Things? what things? wait…” he paused to look at Kayleigh who was on the phone as soon as she ditched him after seeing me, the moody-looking brother.
I hated that he was quick to reach his conclusion, his face mocked me with his smug smile when he gets up and rests his back to the edge of my desk. My feeling must’ve shown when he started his speech about women and us as men.
“Larry, little brother, don’t worry I got this. Just go with me tonight.”
“Are you sure?”
“Bro, I need to shake this off.”
“Alright, we’ll go stroke some people’s egos maybe even meet new clients. I’m pretty sure mom hates it when we do that. We’ll stay for an hour max, then we will hit the strip club. You need heavy dose of women, preferably the almost naked ones twirling down from a pole.”
I finally laughed when he did make me feel better already, why in the hell would I want to settle down with a woman when I can settle with many and have less stress.
Yeah, monogamy is not my thing. Maybe, no… yeah, not my thing.
