Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 885

As dinner unfolded, Breanne couldn't help but catch a snippet of Abraham's conversation with Levi. It seemed Abraham was gearing up to take down Mr. Everett, and once he did, Selena would be his for the taking.

In such a world, where would she, the stand-in, find her place?

She lay there, staring up at the ceiling, completely at a loss.

The next morning.

Breanne woke up first, glancing over to see Abraham asleep beside her, though he kept a deliberate distance. She vaguely remembered how no matter the intimacy they shared at night, Abraham never stayed close afterward. To him, she was merely an accessory.

Once upon a time, just being near him was enough for her. But people always want more, don't they?

Over the years, she'd fallen for him, deeply and irrevocably.

Quietly, she edged closer, nestling against him, pretending he was the partner she yearned for, indulging in her little fantasy.

She savored every second of that fleeting warmth.

Then, without warning, a wave of nausea crashed over her. Breanne's face shifted as she clamped a hand over her mouth, desperately trying not to disturb him. She slipped out of bed and dashed to the bathroom.

Bent over the toilet, she retched uncontrollably.

With nothing in her stomach after a long night, only bitter bile came up.

Eventually, she caught her breath, leaning heavily against the wall, her breaths ragged.

Breanne stared into space, questioning what was happening to her. Lately, she had been feeling sick to her stomach often...

Could it be?noveldrama

A realization struck her. She scrambled up, digging through her makeup bag until she found a pregnancy test. With shaky hands, she took the test.

Heart pounding, she waited. Two lines appeared.

Breanne stood frozen, her eyes wide, unsure if she should feel elated or terrified.

Abraham had always been clear: no

ncies. He was meticulous

The last time a woman tried him by tampering with

protection, it set him off.

He had Levi ensure the pregnancy was ended and then handed the woman over

to some seedy businessmen as a bargaining chip-her fate was grim.

The memory of her, gaunt and mentally shattered, haunted Breanne.

The thought of it made her shiver uncontrollably.

This pregnancy wasn't part of some scheme. She wouldn't dare. But lately,

Abraham had been seeing her

as Selena, and in his enthusiasm, precautions were forgotten.

She hadn't taken any steps afterward either.

She had hoped for things to just play out, never expecting this outcome.

With this child, even if Abraham had Selena, would he perhaps... still keep her around?

She wasn't aiming to compete for

his affection. All she wanted was a

safe haven for her and her child, with

the possibility of him visiting once in a while.

Having settled her thoughts, Breanne clutched the pregnancy test and stepped out of the bathroom.

...

When Abraham stepped out of the bedroom, Breanne had breakfast ready and was sitting quietly at the dining table, waiting for him.

Abraham saw this and felt a surge of satisfaction, imagining a future with Selena.

He walked over and planted a kiss on Breanne's forehead as a reward before sitting down to eat.

Breanne took a few deep breaths, gathering her courage before placing the pregnancy test on the table and sliding it over to Abraham.

"Abraham, I... I'm pregnant."

Abraham froze, his eyes locking onto the two lines on the test in front of him.
