Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 881

She thought if she just stayed by Blaine's side, making amends for what he thought were her wrongs, eventually he'd get his fill of revenge, see her innocence, and maybe they'd have their happy ending.

You know, when love grabs hold, every woman probably thinks she's the one who can change her man. But then Blaine kept flirting around, even sharing his bed with other women. Eventually, he brought them home.

She kept biting her tongue, always hoping. She convinced herself Blaine just misunderstood, that one day the truth would come out, and he'd come back to their family. But when Blaine and Selena set up shop in Northtown, her dreams finally crumbled.

Even though Blaine and Selena were caught in a misunderstanding, it was that mix-up that finally woke her up. Her patience, she realized, was just a story she told herself. From the moment Blaine started doubting her, suspicion took root so deep that no matter what she did, trust was out of the question.

Because she was a Hodge, the enemy's daughter, forever untrustworthy in his eyes. That was the unbridgeable gap between them. Now, she could finally break free and live for herself. Alexa reached out, letting her fingertips catch the sun's rays, feeling warmth seep into her heart.

...

At the boarding gate, Selena fixed her gaze on Alexa and spoke up again, "Are you sure about this? There's still time to change your mind."

Her own love life was far from perfect, but she wished for a happy ending for those around her.

Alexa shook her head softly, "Selena, I need to go."

Selena recognized her resolve and didn't push further. Instead, she hugged her tight.

Alexa hugged back, a smile sneaking onto her face, "Selena, you're amazing. You say you won't meddle, but you always do."

Selena had slipped a bank card into Alexa's bag. Alexa didn't know the exact amount, but she figured it was enough to take care of her and her child for a long while-evenishe wasn't sure the child was Blaine's.

Selena was tough on the outside, but her heart was pure gold. If Blaine had even a hint of that, maybe they wouldn't have ended up here. But Blaine, if he were soft, probably wouldn't have made it this far.

No one was really to blame; maybe it was just the universe having its way.

Reaching this point, she didn't hold anything against Blaine it was just a case of not being meant to be.

"Selena, I hope you find happiness."

As she said it, Alexa felt a pang of sadness. After marrying Blaine, she'd barely socialized or made

friends. Selena was her only rea/net

femalefriend in years. If things were different, she would've loved to call Setena a close friend.

Selena smiled warmly, "I wish you peace and joy in your journey ahead."

They didn't talk about staying in touch. Neither wanted Blaine tracking her down again. Maybe, someday when Blaine let go, they'd meet again.

Watching Alexa disappear into the crowd, Selena returned to Irwin Enterprise. There was a mountain of work waiting, and she had to burn the midnight oil tonoveldrama

catch up.

Suddenly, a knock echoed from her office door, and Holt stepped in. Her expression was a bit off, "Ms. Selena, you have a visitor... Mr. Abraham."
