Chapter 596 Clary’s Man
Chapter 596 Clary’s Man
Damien glanced at his watch and saw it was noon. He went to Clarissa’s refrigerator to check the
ingredients. There were fish, shrimp, several crabs, and fresh seasonal vegetables. He found her
refrigerator more abundant than the time when she lived alone at the University of Florin.
He was slightly surprised to see the crabs. The crabs looked fresh, and not even a few days old.
He gave it a thought and then brought the crab to Mildred. “How about this for lunch?”
“I want something else,” Mildred said.
“Why?”
“I just had it yesterday.” Mildred looked a little aggrieved. The way she looked up at Damien seemed
like she was saying, “Why are we eating this again?”
“Did Clary eat it too?” Damien asked.
Mildred nodded. “Yup. She loves it.”
Damien furrowed his brow slightly, but he said nothing and returned to the kitchen to cook. Damien
rolled his cuffs up to his elbows and started cooking. He steamed the rice, chopped the vegetables,
washed them, and stir-fried them all in one go.
He made borscht, lettuce, shrimp with salt and pepper, and a yam dish.
While eating lunch, Damien kept thinking about how Clarissa had deceived him. ‘How dare she? She’s
so good at pretending and fooling me! If I wasn’t fond of her, would she still do the same? Is she taking
advantage of me?’
Damien was annoyed because Clarissa managed to successfully fool him. He would make her for the
price later!
Damien didn’t expect her to be so tricky.
After lunch, Damien went to do the dishes in the kitchen.
When a knock sounded at the door, Damien was still in the kitchen and did not hear anything. It was
Mildred who opened the door.
Mildred was relieved to see someone she had met yesterday. She happily let Kylie in.
“How are you?” Kylie asked Mildred as she put her bag down.
“I’m fine.”
Kylie could hear the sound of water rushing in the kitchen, and saw a tall figure behind the frosted glass
door. Wondering who it was, she opened the glass door.
Damien heard the movement from the glass door, so he turned off the tap and looked back.
Then, he saw Kylie.
“President Shaw?” Kylie remembered him. Damien went to Kylie’s place before and said his name was
Shaw.
Damien frowned. ‘So Clarissa found Kylie to help.’
“He… He’s Clary’s man.” Mildred thought Kylie didn’t know Damien, so she explained to Kylie.
“Hello,” Damien spoke to Kylie with a usual and business-like tone.
Kylie was slightly stunned to hear Mildred referring to Damien as Clary’s man. She quietly repeated it in
her mind, ‘Clary’s man.’ Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
She thought Clarissa stayed single all these years. She was so worried, and wanted to advise Clarissa
to let go of Zach and find another man. After all, it had been so many years.
Looking at this now, it seemed she had worried for nothing.
Damien had his sleeves rolled up to the elbow. He looked very manly, and was more charming and
handsome than her son Zach.
‘Clarissa found herself such a good man,’ Kylie thought. She should be happy for Clarissa.
“Oh. So you’re Clarissa’s boyfriend,” Kylie said.
“I’m her husband.” Damien turned back and continued to finish the dishes. “I’m afraid Mom will be
scared if I leave, so I’ll stay for a while until Clarissa comes back. You may get acquainted with her
first.”
“Ah, sure,” Kylie said.
Kylie and Mildred sat on the sofa. Damien came out of the kitchen after cleaning the dishes.
After sitting on the sofa, he raised his wrist to check his watch. He wondered how long Clarissa would
take before she came home. She claimed to be pregnant… How dare she trick him!
Kylie observed Mildred carefully. After taking a good look, Kylie said, “You look like the famous movie
star in my youth.”
Mildred seemed a little dazed. She always had a headache whenever she recalled the incidents of the
past, so she frowned and said nothing.
