Let’s Rewrite Our Love Story, Ms Summer Frost

CHAPTER 88

Summer Frost POV

After we all had breakfast together, Xander took the kids away to go take a walk around the house, while I hung out in the living room with

Lisa.

“I’m glad to have you here. My life won’t be so boring for a while,” She chuckled softly, and I forced a smile. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“I have so many gists for you…” Her face brightened with a smile as she adjusted on the couch.

“What’s that?” I couldn’t help but become curious to know what she wanted to tell me.

“You know that guy I told you about the other day? Nick, I mean,”

“Hmm… I remember him,”

“We are dating.” Her confession made my jaw dropped to the ground unbelievably.

“You are what?”

“We are dating,” She shrugged as she flipped her hair behind her ear and winked at me.

“Did you ask him out?“

“Of course, I did. I told you I was going to do that. I always go for what I want, and you already know me for that,” The corner of her lips twitched into a smirk, and I nodded.

“What do you think? Aren’t I brave enough?” She grinned from ear to ear, looking at me and probably waiting for my accolades.

“Yes, you are,” I smiled at her, and she squeaked excitedly.

“I’m concerned about something, Lisa…” I paused and sighed briefly. Though this was going to be what she didn’t want to hear, but as her friend, I needed to look out for her.

“Are you sure he likes you? What if he accepted you because of your brother? I really don’t want you to get hurt. Are you sure about this?” I could swear on my life that I saw sadness flicker in her eyes in split seconds when I said that, and a part of me was sure that it wasn’t entirely what I said. Maybe something was happening.

“That’s not the case. I’m sure it has nothing to do with my brother…” She paused then shrugged and forced a smile. “I think he likes me first,”

Her eyes were one thing that could never lie to me, and looking into them right now made me feel like there was something wrong. It couldn’t be that she was forcing the relationship, right?

“I’m happy for you, darling…” I held her hands and squeezed them gently. “However, you should be careful with your heart. I don’t want you to get heartbroken,”

“Hmm. Thank you,” She forced a smile again.

We were still sitting together when her phone started to ring.

“It’s my boyfriend.” The smile on her face as she looked at her phone proved how much she must really like this guy, and my only hope was that she doesn’t end up getting heartbroken.

“One second, please,” She excused herself and took the call.

“Hey, babe,” She grinned from ear to ear as she held the phone to her ear while biting on her nails.

“I’m fine… Xander? Did you call me because of him?” She scoffed and a deep frown settled on her face.

“Fine! He is not here. I will tell him you called when he gets back,” She brought the phone down from her ear with a sad expression on her

face.

“Is everything alright?” I looked at her closely, worried.

“Hmm,” She just looked at me while forcing a smile.

“Yes, I’m fine. Why don’t we talk later, Summer? I need to go somewhere,” She stood up from the couch and patted my shoulder.

“Hmm. Careful,”

“See you around,” She smiled at me warmly before leaving, and I breathed out.

Bored staying in the living room, I left for the room to go pick up my phone. However, I met the screen light on by the time I walked inside the room, with a text on the screen, so I walked over to it and picked it up.

“Where the hell are you hiding, you ungrateful b**h? If I should find you by myself, you won’t like what will happen. You better f**g show yourself here while I’m being nice!’ I read the text Mr. Miller had sent to me, and I exhaled deeply as I sank into the bed. It was frustrating, but one thing I was sure of, is that I would definitely pull through this.

Going through the internet was one draining thing I didn’t want to do, so I just dropped my phone and lie on the bed to take a nap.

I was barely falling asleep when my attention was drawn to the sound of my phone ringing. I quickly sprung to a sitting position when I saw the caller was Chloe.

“Hey, Chloe,” I spoke on the phone as soon as I took her call.

“Ma’am…” Her voice sounded gloomy, which had me worried.

“Chloe? Are you ok? Why do you sound like that? Is everything alright?”

“Mr. Miller sacked me,”

“What!”

“He threatened me to tell him about your whereabouts, and when I insisted I didn’t know, he fired me right away…” She paused and sniffled.

“He asked me to vacate the apartment, but I have nowhere else to go to. I’m going to end up on the street after I leave here,” Her teary voice broke my heart into pieces, and I clenched my jaw.

“What should I do, ma’am?” She whimpered, and I closed my eyes briefly as I reclined on the bed and exhaled sharply.

“Calm down, Chloe. You don’t have to cry. I will sort this out…” I paused and sucked in a breath, not knowing what to say. I really wanted to have her around me, but I was squatting with Xander currently and no way I could ask her to move in with me.

“I’m going to send you some money to go lodge at a hotel while I figure out what to do about this. Don’t worry, I’m going to do something, I promise. You are not going to end up on the street, and that is a promise I’m making to you,” I assured her, and heard her sniffled.

“Thank you so much, ma’am. I really appreciate it,”

“You don’t have to cry. I will send the money now so you can get a hotel to stay for some time,” After the call ended, I wired some money into

her account.

I was about to put my phone away when a text came in. Surprisingly, it was from Hunter.

‘Did you have to humiliate me like that in the presence of everyone?’ I felt bitterness in his text, but I could only care less. I told him to cancel the engagement, and if he had done that, we wouldn’t have been here now…
