Chapter 36
Angel Leffman
When Harry told me how Alexis bankrupted his company, how he stole from his clients, and how he evaded taxes, all I could think of was how to ruin him. How to put him behind bars and pay for messing with us? Just remembering what he attempted to do to Sofia makes me want to end his worthless existence.
Harry went to the station to file a case and have him arrested, so I was surprised when Justin, the man whom I ordered to remain close to Alexis, told me that Sofia had come to the company.
"What is Sofia doing there?" I asked in jealousy and anger the moment I heard that.
All I wanted to do was run over there and pull her away from that company. Why is she being careless again? Does she not understand how dangerous that man is?
When I arrived, I saw several cops around the building, and I didn't expect Harry to be that fast. I went in and asked the receptionist about Sofia. After preventing me from getting her location, I threatened her, and she let me in. The elevator opened, and I saw Isaac Gomez talking to Amelia and another man. They looked at me in confusion, and I looked at them the same way, but I was glad to know that Sofia wasn't alone.
"Angel, what are you doing here?"
"Where is Sofia?" I ignored her question and asked.
"She's inside talking to that guy, and the truth is, I don't like that she's alone with him as well." Isaac was the one who answered me.
My face automatically darkened. "Then you shouldn't have left her alone."
Sofia was surprised to see me, and when I saw him holding her, I almost lost it and killed him right there and then. I was so filled with rage that my whole body vibrated. In the end, I thankfully stopped myself from doing so, and Sofia's safety was my top priority. I was enlightened as to what the a*****e has on her, and I also witnessed how ruthless she can be to someone who messes with her. At that moment, I thought that if I really wronged her, I would experience the same thing as Alexis.
I watched Amelia and the cops state his rights and his cases, and I felt disgusted. This guy is the worst! How was he able to escape justice for that long? On top of being a greedy bastard, he's also a disgusting rapist!
"That man will spend his whole life in prison," Amelia told me as the cops held Alexis and the press surrounded him like the criminal that he is.
When that's done, I look at Sofia, and my annoyance comes back. I remember what the idiot was about to do to him when I arrived, and I don't know how I didn't kill him. One problem is solved, but there's still Elisa, his family, and his dad. These issues are not that easy to resolve, unlike Alexis.
"Angel to earth." Sofia's voice invaded my mind, and I blinked my eyes, which were focused on the road as I drove.
"I was just thinking about what could have happened to you if I didn't arrive in time." I expressed what was bothering me.
"Everything went according to plan." I looked at her and felt the urge to throw her out of the car. "Isaac was waiting outside just in case I needed help."
"Don't you realize that something could have gone wrong? You were careless, Sofia. What if he didn't allow Isaac with you? What if you two got hurt? What if Amelia was late?"
Sofia took a deep breath. "Do not scold me anymore. I just... I knew something could go wrong, but I took the risk anyway. Why don't we just celebrate?"
She put on that innocent face with an equally innocent smile, and it somehow managed to calm me down. I am aware of just how quickly she can make me lose my patience, but she's also the one who can calm me down.
"Where do you want to go?" I asked in a calm voice, and no one would believe that I almost turned into The Hulk earlier.
"Wherever is fine. I just want to celebrate because I finally got rid of that disgusting man."
"Why didn't you tell me what she proposed to you?"
"I didn't see the need to because I will never accept it anyway," she said, and she was surprised to see her apartment. "I told you I wanted to celebrate and not go home, Angel."
"Let's just order pizza or something. I'm sure you have a bottle of something. We can just celebrate in the comfort of your home." I winked at her, and she just made a face.
I climbed down first, and I opened the door for her to see in her face that she didn't like the idea.
"It's not a bad idea, but it feels like I didn't leave home."
"Do you know that there are applications where you can order and they will bring it to you?"
She glared at me. "I know, I'm not stupid. I mean, I want to eat outside."
"Okay, tell me where you want to go, and I'll drive you there," I offered her, despite not liking the idea that we would probably be surrounded by too many people.
She must have noticed that I wasn't comfortable with the idea. "It looks like you don't like the idea. If you don't like it, then I can go alone, or I will invite Amelia and Isaac."
"Sofia, I just want a quiet place maybe. I don't know why I still bother. I asked you what you wanted to do and you just told me you wanted to celebrate. I can celebrate anywhere or by doing anything like watching TV and just eating whatever, but if you want to go out, I have no problem with that."
She smiled at me, and I didn't get it. "I can't picture you sitting on the sofa while watching TV," she teased me, and I just shook my head. "That would be amusing. What do you usually watch? Romance? Actions of horror?"
"I am a man, Sofia; what do you think I'll watch?"
"Okay, I am fine with watching movies and pizza. We can also order or make some more." She agreed and walked to the elevator, leaving me confused by her.
Who understands women, really?
We entered her apartment, and I felt a sense of familiarity, even though I had only been there once.
"Make yourself comfortable. You can choose the movie while I order our food. By the way, what flavor do you want?"
"Like any other guy, I have no particular preference. Feel free to order the drinks as well."
I did what she asked for and searched for a good movie. Who would have thought that I'd see myself sitting on her sofa to watch a movie when just a few weeks ago, we couldn't even stand each other?" "Done. I ordered, and they told me it'll take up to thirty minutes," I heard her say when she was done. She looked at me and asked. "Why do you have that look on your face?"
"I don't know. I just didn't think that I'd sit here and watch a movie with my wife. I can't remember the last time I sat like this and looked for something to watch. I was so busy with work that I forgot how to really live."
"Not everything in life should be focused on work. Didn't you have extra time when you were traveling? I mean, going out with... women." She mumbled the last part, but I was able to hear it.
"Of course, I had spare time to tour, especially with the clients, but there were no women. You can count on that."
"And who said I'm bothered by that? You're free to do what you want. Our marriage is not exactly a normal one, but I am glad that you did not break the fidelity clause."
"Sofia, I don't want to argue now. So let's just sit, watch a movie, eat, and drink like normal people do. Like how we used to do it before. Sitting in a coffee shop while reading a book we borrowed from the library." "How does a normal couple do this? Unbelievable. Did you have to ask me for a divorce just to finally sit and watch a movie together?" Sofia said with humor in her voice, and I gave her a blank look. "We need to start somewhere, even if it's this way."
"This is better than nothing, I guess, but we need to admit that we have problems we need to solve."
"We'll figure it out together. Don't think about it too much."
I looked at her, and I couldn't resist not kissing her. She then stood up and went to the mini bar, where she poured two glasses of liquor.
"While we wait for pizza, we can start by drinking first," she suggested, and she handed me the glass that I set on the table.
"Well, I want another thing."
Her. I have been lusting over her since before, and I just didn't want to admit it to myself. Even then, I couldn't help but want her, even from a distance.
"Well, if you don't want it, you can pick whatever you want from the bar and serve yourself."
She didn't get to finish what she was saying when I held her waist and pulled her to me before kissing her again, but longer this time. I became addicted to her sweet lips, and even more so when she responded to them.
I deepened the kiss, and she let me explore her addicting mouth to taste her. I can taste her, kiss her, and feel her soft skin against mine. I wanted nothing more than to kiss and hug her.
I kept kissing her until I had her pinned to the door, and she responded with equal passion and enthusiasm. How was I able to resist her for five years? I didn't give myself time to think because I just wanted to love her and own her.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
I picked her up, and she wrapped her legs around my waist. I took her to the dining room and let my kisses travel down to her neck. I heard her small moans, and it was music to my ears. I gripped her thighs until my fingers played at the hem of her skirt. And the sound of the bell ringing just had to ruin the moment.
We moved away agitated, and she looked at me all embarrassed.
She moved away from me, and she looked embarrassed all flushed and tempting, but embarrassed.
"I didn't think our order would arrive soon," I told her, and I still could feel her lips on mine. Her warmth embraces me.
"I don't know. Let me see. You better go back to choosing a movie."
She fixed herself, and I forced myself to calm down in order to not jump her right then and there.

Oh, this will be a long night.
