Chapter 15
I opened my eyes to the soft warmth of the morning. The first thing that greeted me was the sunlight penetrating from the glass window. I raised my hand to cover my face and moved to get up but an arm tightly coiled around my waist stopped me.
I stiffened for a while and recalled everything.
The events from last night gradually came back to me. My face heated up with memories. Sighing, I slowly removed the legs that were holding me captive then slowly slipped out of Maverick’s embrace. I got off the bed and looked for my t-shirt on the floor. I immediately put them on and walked to the bathroom. I took a shower first to soothe my aching muscles.
I still hurt down there but it’s not as painful as last night. My face went red again when images from what happened came running down to my mind.
I tried to shake off the memories and started rinsing my body off.
I wiped my body with a towel and covered myself before leaving the bathroom. Maverick was still asleep on the bed, he is on his back while his face is sunk into my pillow.
He looks so magnificently handsome with his sun-kissed skin, small stubbles on his chin and a slightly open mouth that brought me to heaven last night.
Gosh, Femella! You even got the nerve to insert that! I exclaimed in my mind.
I blew air and opened the closet. I chose a big shirt with a fairly thick fabric. I don’t have undies inside. I hope his conscience is working to be caring enough to buy me a pair of undies.
And the pills! I need the pills.
My monthly period is regular so tracking my fertile days is easier. I’m not fertile yesterday but I still need the pills for precautionary purposes. No one wants to be pregnant during a one-week sex escapade with a man you don’t trust.
I took another glance at Maverick before going out of the room. I went to the kitchen to make coffee.
Thank goodness there’s coffee beans in the groceries he bought yesterday.
I took it out from the cupboard and set the brewing machine.
Moments passed and the aroma of pure coffee goodness filled the entire house.
I poured it into the mug and positioned myself in front of the glass wall. I took a sip and closed my eyes as the heat and bitterness of the coffee warmed my throat.
I opened my eyes and stared at the beauty in front of me. Ripples of shining waves hugged the white shoreline creating relaxing sea patterns.
The water level is low tide so the water is still a bit far. I looked out to sea. It looks so peaceful and serene. The waves gently caress the fine sand of the beach. It matches with the clear weather and blue sky which are adorned by birds flying under the gentle rays of the sun.
Suddenly, it was as if I were back in the place where the trees were proudly bustling and the only noise that could be heard was the gentle rush of water from the waterfall into the river. The twittering of the birds is like a short sweet song as well as the chirping of insects and small animals around.
That place is a paradise. It’s where I became the happiest even when I’m alone. It’s also the place where I’ve witnessed the event that has changed my life forever.
The flow of my memory was interrupted when the familiar warm arms embraced me from behind. I barely looked at Maverick who was just naked from waist up and only wearing boxer shorts. He parted my wet hair to the side and kissed me on the nape. His stubbles tickled my skin as he rubbed his chin against my neck.
“Good morning. Still sore?” he asked in a strained voice.
I ignored his question and continued sipping.
“Morning.”
I raised my mug of coffee at him.
“Coffee? I brewed.”
“Oh yes. I need it.”
He let go of me and walked towards the kitchen. I watched him as he poured the brewed coffee and cream into another mug. He glanced at me before going back to my side.
I skimmed his appearance. Broad shoulders, big muscled arms and another big deal bulge inside those boxers. All is big with this guy.
My face turned red when our eyes met. I cleared my throat and pretended like nothing happened. A goofy smile is playing on his face. He obviously caught me checking him out. He leaned over me and sipped his coffee.
“The view here is magnificent,” he pointed at the view outside.
“I agree. I specifically added this glass wall to the design of the house. Waking up to this view every morning just hits different. It calms me especially when I’m thinking about new business ventures.”
“Right. This place is really wonderful. Virgin island. I noticed there’s not much of big establishments here.”
“It’s a tourist spot under the government’s care. They want to preserve its natural resources so they limit the building of big establishments as much as possible. You see that part near that big rock formation? That area used to be a part of a reclamation project by a dredging company. The locals here did not like the project and asked for my help. I forwarded their cause to the government and the rest was history. The project was completely scrapped.”
He took a sip from his coffee mug and then winked at me.
I rolled my eyes at him.
“How noble. It never crossed your mind to put up a hotel here? You can definitely exploit the place. Imagine, all of the locals here will be your instant customers. After all, you are their savior.”
“It never crossed my mind. This island is a haven for me from the first time I discovered this place years ago. It’s my favorite vacation home, my destressing staycation. Now if I put up a hotel here, this will no longer be a peaceful place for me.”
“Yeah. You’re right.”
“Wait here. I’ll just get the key.”
I followed his back as he wnrr back to the room. My gaze went to his round buttocks. Apple pie. I bit my lip when I blushed again. I averted my eyes and concentrated on drinking my cold coffee. He returned later with a bunch of keys in his hand. I then went back to the kitchen to have more coffee.
“Come, Fem. Let me show you outside,” he invited me.
“Refill?”
I tilted the cup I’m holding.
He smiled.
“Oh yes, please. We need that.”
He came over and placed his own mug on the kitchen counter next to my mug. I poured in the liquid in his mug and reached for the cream to the side.
“Tell me if it’s enough.” I started pouring in the cream.
“It’s enough.”
I returned the lid of the cream and picked up the mug. I took a spoon and stirred the solution and handed it to Maverick. I put coffee in mine and took it. He followed my gaze the entire duration.
“No sugar or cream for you?” he observed.
“Ahm, no. I liked it plain and pure black.”
“It’s the first time I met a woman who liked her coffee like that.”
“Well, you’re not the first man I know who liked his coffee with cream.”
He gave me an amused smile.
“You got me there. Now come on.”
He walked toward the glass wall and pulled back the curtain to the very edge.
“This wall is not actually a wall. It’s a glass door.”
I went beside him to take the mug he was holding.
“Let me hold this for you.”
He smiled at me and inserted the key into the keyhole. I heard a click and then a small handle appeared. Maverick pulled it and slid it in a horizontal motion. The strong, cold sea wind greeted us immediately. And boy, what a view. What it looks like from the glass wall is nothing compared to what I see now.
“Wow,” was the only thing I could say while gaping at the wondrous view before me.
The rays of the sun turn everything I see sparkling. The sea is sparkling, the rocks are shining and the tiny ripples of white sand look like pearls from my point of view.
“Come on. The view is the best there.”
He took back the mug from me and looked for my hand.
I hesitated a bit because I’m not wearing anything inside the shirt. The wind will probably blow my clothing off. But what is it now? He’s seen me all naked. But still, I can’t help but feel awkward.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, curious about my hesitation.
“N-nothing. Come on.”
We went down to the sand barefoot. It doesn’t hurt and you don’t have to worry because the sand is very fine. I let go of his hand and pulled down at the hem of my dress. The wind is really strong. I pulled it down again to make sure it stays in place. I turned to the man who was giggling. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
“What?”
I was really annoyed because of my situation and yet he still managed to laugh at me.
“Don’t worry. I’ve bought you clothes. It will arrive later this morning. And you don’t have to keep doing that. There’s no people here aside from us. You can skinny dip all you want. I won’t mind, promise.”
He grinned at me and raised his hands in surrender.
I glared at him.
“How I wish I could gouge your eyes out.”
He laughed at my reaction and pinched my cheek. He dragged me closer and held the hem of my shirt so that the wind wouldn’t blow it away.
“There’s a hammock there.”
He pointed to coconut trees in the distance. We walked side by side, him telling me stories about the place.
Between the two coconuts hangs the rattan hammock. But my eyes were not focused on that but on the scene ahead. The long stretch of the wide blue sea is unhampered by any obstacle. I can see the green island on the left as well as some rock formations next to it. I didn’t see any sea vessel sailing which gives a very peaceful ambience in the area. The only thing that fills the morning is the sound of the sea crashing and the chirping of birds waiting for the fish.
“Wow,” I whispered. I surveyed the whole scene before me and marveled at how this could even exist.
Maverick gently tugged at me to sit on his lap and snaked his arms around my waist. I couldn’t do anything when our bodies touched. What I did was to just straighten my clothes and drink my coffee. I even let his hands roam all over me as they traveled up and down my thighs.
He drew small circles using his fingers on my legs. His other hand began to fumble my breast from the outside. I gasped for breath.
My hands shook in the kick of sensation.
“Maverick,” I warned him when I felt him hardened under my butt.
“Hmmmm.”
He pulled me even closer to his frame and fingered my hair to the side. He sniffed me first before bending down to kiss my neck. I tightened my grip on his arm and the handle of the mug. I bit my lip to keep myself from moaning.
The two of us were already breathing heavily. His heart was beating so fast that I could feel it from the connection between our bodies. His hand also became more aggressive when he finally got inside my clothes. He started rubbing the side of my thighs up until he found my groin. He started caressing it using his fingers.
I sighed at the rush of blood I felt. I couldn’t stop myself from leaning against him to bring myself closer to his heat and touch. His warm, rough hands ignited the fire I knew was there all along just hiding from the inside.
“Your coffee. It’s getting cold,” I said in a futile attempt to stop what he’s doing.
“Let it be.”
He continued kissing and sucking my neck so I just closed my eyes and tilted my neck even more for him to give him better access. My body is heating up with lust. The cold air did nothing to put off the fire that was slowly consuming my sanity. I moved my butt and pressed my body to him. He growled and answered me with a thrust.
The movement caused the liquid on his mug to spill off on my arm. Good thing it’s already cold. I moved away from Maverick.
“What’s wrong?” he asked in a voice laden with desire.
I showed him my wet arm.
“Your coffee spilled on me.”
“Did you get hurt? It’s hot.”
His face was full of concern as he inspected my skin.
“No, it’s not. It’s already cold.”
I was about to wipe my arm on the t-shirt when he stopped me.
“Let me.”
He took my arm and slowly dried it with his mouth and tongue. He’s staring at me as he gently sucked my arm. I met Maverick’s flaming eyes. I could no longer restrain myself so I reached for his face and kissed him. He seemed surprised at what I did so he didn’t readily respond.
I closed my eyes and moved my lips against his. I tried mimicking his way of kissing me last night but I failed. His lips were still pressed close tight. I tried biting his lips but I did it a little too hard given the change in his grip on my hips.
Frustrated, I ended the kiss and looked up at him. My gaze went to his reddened lip. I did hurt him.
“I-I’m sorry. I don’t mean to hurt you.”
There’s no apparent reaction from him. He just sipped from his cup, snatched the mug from my hand and put it down on the sand together with his mug, took me by my nape and kissed me.
I clung tightly to his neck as I opened my mouth to his punishing kiss. I tasted the sweet coffee from his mouth. I sucked his tongue to get more of the blended cream and coffee. I tasted the bittersweet coffee in his mouth but why does it seem like a wine to me which is making me drunk?
I squealed as he lay me down on the hammock without breaking the kissing of our lips. I straddled his hardness while he cupped my butt and squeezed them. I squeezed myself tighter into his embrace and moved my lower part to meet the man’s stronger humping.
He was about to put his hands inside me when we were interrupted by a growl in my stomach. He stopped kissing me and yanked down his head to see my face. I buried my face on his bare chest trying to pacify the erratic beating of my heart.
“I’m hungry,” I muttered under my breath.
Maverick’s loud laughter filled the surroundings. He fixed my shirt. and then caressed my back.
“Me too,” he answered and rubbed the hardness on me again.
“We’re different. You’re hungry for food. I’m hungry for something else.”
He laughed again. “You’re right.”
He combed my hair while swinging the hammock. I closed my eyes and savored the air.
“Where are we, Maverick?”
“Guess it.”
“Somewhere in the world. I just don’t know exactly where,” I answered sarcastically.
“Hmmm. You’re right.”
“Why am I even talking to you?”
“It’s because you’re not fair at giving me your proper rating. 6. 5? Seriously? I did better than that.”
“Why do men tend to have stratospheric egos?”
“It’s not ego. It’s called being honest and being grateful for the service we provided.”
“Whatever. I still think the same.”
“Well, I still have a few more days to change your mind.”
“Why bother?”
“Why would you want to know why I bother? Just think it’s part of me having a stratospheric ego.”
“I don’t care. You know what I know now? I’m famished. Better yet feed me now. You just brought me here to make out.”
“Do you know how to cook?”
“No, I hate the kitchen.”
“I see. I’ll cook for us.”
“You should! You dragged me in this place so it’s your sole responsibility. I didn’t tell you to kidnap me.”
He sighed.
“This is why I prefer you in my bed. You are not this sharp and noisy when you call for my name. Well, aside from your occasional moans which I love to hear.”
“Fuentebella, I’m really hungry.”
“Right, right.”
He helped me get up and picked up the mugs on the sand and gazed at me.
I took a step back when I saw the glint in his eyes again.
“I’m really hungry.”
He grinned.
“Me too but I’ll satiate my hunger later after you’ve eaten.”
I gave him a finger and began walking away. I heard his laughter before he chased me and held my hand.
