Chapter 789 Eager to Sell the Boss

All morning, the atmosphere inside Superstar Entertainment was strange, even Lori, who was usually lively, had become much more composed.

After finishing the last document, Phoebe called Lori in to take it out. Shortly after, Lori knocked and entered.

"What's going on with you all today?" Phoebe asked.

Lori, holding the document, cautiously observed Phoebe's expression. "Ms. Ziegler, are you in a good mood?"

"I'm fine. Why?"

Lori immediately pulled out her phone from her pocket, opened Facebook, and showed it to her with a serious expression. "Last night, Mr. Vanderbilt's proposal video was posted online by netizens."

Phoebe took the phone and looked at Facebook. Under the hashtag #Drone Proposal, netizens were having heated discussions. Half were envious of the man's wealth and extravagance, while the other half envied the woman.

In addition, Phoebe had been recognized by fans. They compared candid photos from the scene with pictures of her attending a farewell concert and concluded she was the same person.

After her identity was revealed, Noah's fans quickly gathered at the square.

Fortunately, the comments were still civil. She scrolled for a while without seeing any insults before handing the phone back to Lori.

"It's fine," Phoebe said.

There were still many jealous comments in the comment section, saying things like rich people were really willful, wasting money on romance instead of donating to poor children.

Lori nodded, "Yeah, if you ask me, your current fame is almost on par with a B-list actor."

Phoebe was actually very afraid of being exposed to the media. The higher her profile, the less likely the paparazzi would leave her alone, especially after last night's proposal, which had pushed her into the spotlight again.

"They probably want you to help Noah, and you're even prettier than celebrities. They can accept you as Noah's wife," Lori said sincerely.

Phoebe was already very beautiful without any special effort. Yesterday, after being dressed up by a makeup team, she was simply stunning.

Phoebe glared at her, "Don't talk nonsense. If this gets out, people will laugh at me, or say I'm exploiting my own actors. It's not a good look."

"Oh." Lori didn't dare to push further.

Phoebe waved her hand, "Go back to work. By the way, tell the PR department to delete any content about me immediately, no matter what it is. I'm not a celebrity."

"Got it." Lori felt a bit regretful, "Actually, there are quite a few reality shows about agents and managers now. If we want to boost our reputation and sign more popular and talented artists, you could go on those shows to gain fans."

"Is the company going bankrupt? Are you in a hurry to sell your boss?" Phoebe glanced at her and jokingly scolded.

Lori giggled, "Actually, the resources department received several reality show invitations this morning. Ms. Ziegler, if you're willing to use your looks, our company's performance will definitely improve next year."noveldrama

"Get out." Phoebe picked up a document from the desk, pretending to throw it at her. Lori quickly ran out with the document, "Ms. Ziegler, please consider it."

How did she end up hiring such an unreliable assistant?

She thought for a moment, then took out her phone to call Stanley. As soon as the call connected, Stanley's teasing voice came through, "Phoebe, Edward's high-profile proposal was the talk of our class group chat all night. Can I get the inside scoop? Did you say yes?"

Phoebe sighed, "Stanley, I didn't expect even you, with your busy schedule, are grabbing some popcorn for this."

"We're in the information business, always on the front line of collecting data," Stanley laughed heartily. "Don't change the subject. What's the result?"

Phoebe sighed, "Stanley!"

"Don't act cute, it won't work," Stanley teased. "But from your tone, did you reject him again?"

"Yeah."

"You really are something!" Stanley shook his head helplessly. "Why? You two had such a good relationship before. Many classmates who were interested in you and Edward backed off because of that. How come..."

Phoebe felt inexplicably sad at his words. She got up and walked to the window, looking at the distant buildings. "Maybe we're just missing that little bit of fate."

Stanley sighed along with her, understanding the helplessness that comes with adulthood. Sometimes, when fate took its course, there was no turning back. "Do you want me to take you out for a meal to cheer you up?"

Phoebe was amused by his serious tone, "No need. I'm not the one who needs

cheering up. I called you because I wanted to discuss something with you."

"Then you treat me to a meal, and we'll talk in person," Stanley agreed readily. "Alright!"

After hanging up, Phoebe specifically booked a restaurant and sent the address to Stanley. She then returned to her desk to start dealing with the backlog of documents.

In the hotel suite, Edward woke up with a splitting headache from a night of heavy drinking. He raised his arm to rub his temples and suddenly felt something move on his chest.

He opened his eyes abruptly and looked down to see a head. The person rubbed against his chest.

He grabbed the woman's long hair and lifted her head, meeting Madison's seductive face. He frowned, "What are you doing in my bed?"

Madison winced in pain, her eyes coquettish, "Edward, do you really not remember anything? Last night, you held my waist and begged me not to leave you. Did you forget?"

Edward's eyes flickered, "Really?"

"Of course. You hurt me so much last night, refusing to let go. Edward, I'm yours now." Madison said, trying to bury her face in his neck, but her scalp was pulled painfully.

She frowned at Edward, her eyes pitiful, "Edward, you're hurting me." Edward suppressed his nausea, feeling the two of them were naked under the covers. His disgust grew. He had indeed underestimated Madison's shamelessness.

He knew clearly whether anything had happened between him and Madison last night, but since Madison wanted to blackmail him, why not go along with it?

He said coldly, "Go get my clothes."

Madison, seeing that he wasn't pursuing last night's events further, was overjoyed. She smiled sweetly, "Alright, let go of me then."

Edward released his grip. Madison sat up from under the covers, the silk sheet sliding off her body. She was completely naked but didn't shy away from Edward's gaze. She turned her back to him and grabbed a robe from the side, wrapping it around herself.

"Wait for me." She threw a flirtatious glance at Edward and turned to leave the bedroom.
