Chapter 60 How To Prove
Chapter 60 How To Prove
Sadie did not know that Otto went to find Libby. When she received her call again, she was already in
another city.
She had transferred to another school, the arrangement should have been handled by Khalid, as she
had thanked Khalid in her text message.
She had changed her phone number and sent her a few voice recordings. There were also two
evidences that the person had paid Dean Esme, she told her to find Tomas Evans.
After putting the evidence into safekeeping, Sadie looked at the time, found Tomas’s number and
called.
The call rang for a long time before it was finally connected to the other side. Tomas’s smiling voice
came through, deep and soft. “Sadie, why have you suddenly remembered to call me?”
“I miss you,” Sadie joked, opening the door and went into the balcony.
She had been planning how to investigate about her identity these few days, but she had never thought
of him.
If Libby had not reminded her, she almost forgot that Tomas was always very caring towards them.
“I’m still outstation, I would be back around Tuesday and I’ll call you then.” Tomas smiled again, “I
heard from Libby that she transferred, why?”
“Something happened, you must have been out of the city these days, the welfare house was closed
down.”
Sadie’s tone dimmed as she took in a long deep breath, “Tomas, did you have a crush on my sister?”
Tomas’s coughing noise came through. After a while, he switched the topic cleverly. “Send me her
address, who knows that I might be near her new school.”
Sadie laughed and agreed. After she hung up the call, she sent him the address of Libby’s new school.
When she returned into the room, it was already nine o’clock at night.
Ted did not call her and neither did Julian. This realisation was making her very happy indeed.
Opening the app for English learning, she put her headphones on as she did a spelling test on the
terms.
When she was done, she compared her answers, and she began to plan her studies in satisfaction.
There had been too many messy events, and she had not been attending to her lessons properly. This
attitude was certainly not the way to go.
She could not remember who, but someone had once told her, “You have to work hard to get what you
want”. She always remembered it.
Only those that she had obtained through her hard work would not be broken easily by the others.
She was busy until ten at night, when Daisy returned from outside and brought some grilled snacks and
some beer, asking if she would like to have some.
“No thanks, I have been so heaty that I have a sore throat recently.” Sadie closed her computer and a
call came in. Seeing that it was Julian’s number, her brows furrowed as she picked up unwillingly.
He had said that he would be on a business trip for a long time, why did he come back so suddenly?
“Come down,” the raspy voice came in through the electromagnetic waves, seemed that it was a little
tired. Sadie turned and took a look at Daisy, as she unwillingly agreed. She hung up and began
packing her bag.
“I have an activity on Sunday, I’ll call you then.” Daisy did not ask where she was going, as she
explained blurrily eating her kebabs.
“Alright,” Sadie patted her shoulder, opened the door and went out, creeping down the stairs.
Julian’s car was parked nearby, the black body of the car hidden in the shadows. He did not even
switch on the car lights, if she did not have sharper eyes she would not have been able to find it.
She opened the door and got onto the backseat, his arm immediately came over. She smelt the clean
scent on his body.
Sadie turned slightly and tried to avoid his touch. Her forehead rubbed against his chin and she felt an
abnormal heat, as she could not help but frowned. “Are you sick?”
Julian did not speak but only held onto her, his chin landing on her shoulder as he ordered lightly for
Ted to start driving.
His body was so heavy and for its weight to be put on her, she almost could not breathe.
She raised her hand and covered his forehead, feeling that it was indeed very hot. She was suddenly
quite worried. Where on earth did he go on a business trip to, why was he so sick? Khalid did not even
send him to the hospital.
She held him up all the way with difficulty. When they returned to ZSB Garden, her shoulder was all
sore.
She opened the door and went down. Seeing that Doctor Darius was here, she was suddenly relieved
as she greeted him hurriedly, “Doctor Darius, I think he has a fever.”
“I know, I came as soon as I received Khalid’s call,” Doctor Darius went up to open the door of the
backseat, and reached over to help Julian off the car.
Sadie followed to help out, and she asked Amina to get some ice ready when they went in.
Julian’s fever was quite high, putting him on a drip was not doing much for him, so they had to also
lower his temperature physically.
Helping him up the upstairs bedroom, Doctor Darius took his temperature and immediately opened his
medical kit to prepare a drip for him,
Sadie went to the bathroom to wet a towel, she folded it into a rectangular shape and put it onto his Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
forehead carefully.
“Don’t worry, I’m alright,” Julian caught her hand as his lips curled up slightly.
“Sit down obediently and stop moving around, your movements make me uncomfortable.”
“Alright…” Sadie allowed him to hold onto her hand as she half-knelt on the carpet, having a worried
expression on her face.
She was used to his domineering stance, for it to suddenly become tired and sickly, she was not used
to it.
After the drip was put on, Julian was probably too uncomfortable, as his dark eyes slowly closed.
Sadie did not dare to go away. After a while Amina came up bringing the ice pack and carefully put it
under his armpits, she spoke for a while and went out knowingly.
Once the door was shut, the room suddenly became very quiet. She looked at his sleeping face and
she carefully took her hand out with her lips pursed, and took away the towel on his forehead.
He had a high fever of 39 degree Celsius, yet he still went to the school just to pick her up. Was he
worried about her or was he not treating his body well?
Pouting, she took the hot towel to the bathroom and turned on the tap as she washed it again. She also
took a basin, filled it with water and took it inside.
The ice pack need not to be moved anymore, but his forehead was so hot it was terrifying.
She wrung the towel to half dry and put it onto his forehead. Sadie looked at the time and crept onto
the bed, lying beside him.
She had not taken a nap in the afternoon and now she was beginning to feel tired, once she began to
yawn she could not stop.
“If you’re tired just sleep for a while, the drip won’t be finished for a long time.” Julian opened one eyes
slightly and reached over to pull her into his arms. “You haven’t seen me for one week, did you miss
me?”
Who would miss you… Sadie thought silently as she nodded unwillingly.
She would not miss him at all, to be specific, she did not owe him anything else now.
It was not important that the welfare house was demolished, neither was it important for Dean Esme to
recover. So, that somewhat agreement was not binding upon her at all.
“How would you prove that you miss me, hmm?” Julian did not expose her on purpose, as his lips
curled up slightly.
Sadie was silent for a while and she bent her arms to prop herself up, and she unwillingly leaned over
to give him a kiss, “Like this.”
“Miss Sadie, your sincerity is too little,” Julian held onto her waist unexpectedly, not allowing her to
leave.
There was a moment of silence in the room.
Sadie was forced to lie on him, unable to move. There was a slight blush on her pale face as she
glared at him, “Let go!”
Julian’s hand that was on her waist did not move but even tightened its grip, as he said deeply, “Help
me to a bath.”
