Chapter 21 What Did You Check

Chapter 21 What Did You Check

Julian didn’t even give her any time to think, he went up to her to help her up after the phone call and

said, “Let’s go home.”

Sadie tried to push him away. She had a bleak expression on her face as she said, “Please watch

where you are touching, don’t take advantage of me.”

“Watch where I’m touching you say?” There was a concealed look of amusement in Julian’s eyes, he

darkened his expression and said intimidatingly, “Are you coming or not?”

Sadie felt frightened seeing his angry face, her nerves were set on edge and she felt a shiver down her

spine.

How could she forget that Julian’s nickname in the business world was the lord of death? Nothing

benefits her to go head-to-head with him.

She paused briefly and decided to keep her temper in check. She tried to be obedient and she grabbed

his arm to sit up.

Libby had no proof of what she said, and it was the solid truth and fact that Dean Esme was always

nice to her.

Even if…even if she were nice to Sadie just for the money, she would still be grateful to her.

Julian bend over and pressed his forehead against hers to check her temperature. He then carried her

princess-style after confirming that her fever had gone down.

“What are you doing…” Sadie squealed with her heart in her throat.

“Carrying you.” Julian looked down and saw that Sadie’s face had turned bright red. There was a hint of

delight in his eyes, “I told you already, practice makes perfect.”

She actually blushed, would she actually kill him out of embarrassment if she knew what they were

going to do tonight?

Julian got out of the car first when they arrived at ZSB Garden. He waited for her to get out of the car

herself, he then held her hand and walked into the living room together with her unhurriedly.

The living room looked different than in the morning, it became an actual living space again. The

decorations were all packed away.

Sadie was feeling dizzy as she walked up the stairs with Julian. Someone brought clothes to the room

and Sadie realized that the clothes were all for her.

She looked at the clothes tags and remembered that someone changed her clothes for her in the

hospital earlier today. She frowned, “Where are my usual clothing?”

“Thrown away. Wear the clothes I buy you from now on,” answered Julian as if it was the most natural

thing to say. He turned his head and ordered the servants to put the clothes into the cupboard.

Sadie wanted to ask him who changed her clothes, but she stopped herself from asking because she

was worried that he was the one that changed her clothes. She then fell into a deep silence.

She sat down on the window seat, her head was throbbing. She flipped open a book that was lying

around the area and she started to yawn.

She took some flu pills after leaving the hospital, the doziness was inevitable.

Some time had passed, and her shoulder suddenly sank, she could smell the clean scent coming from

Julian. She quickly woke up and said, “Mr. Mccarthy?”

“Call me Julian.” Julian raised his hand and softly touched her collarbone. He pressed down slightly

with his rough fingers and slowly increased his pressure while going over the scar on the birthmark

repeatedly.

Sadie sat up straight and held her breath, sweat started to form on her forehead.

The expression in his eyes was so savage that she thought he might suddenly strangle her to death

viciously.

“I’ll bring you to the tattoo parlour again, we’ll cover this up,” said Julian emotionlessly as he pressed

his lips together. “Other than that, you don’t have other moles or scars on your body. I checked this

evening.”

He was always protective of her. As long as he was home, he would go get her from kindergarten. He

never asked someone else to look after her for him, he was also the one to bring her out to play.

But Sadie’s eyes were wide opened after hearing what he said, she looked shocked, “You…what did

you check in the evening?!”

He was indeed the one that changed her clothes, this pervert!

Julian was amused by her expression, he unintentionally inched closer to her and his face was now

very close to hers. His deep dark eyes were beaming, “I was checking if you had any other scars on

your body.”

Sadie was angry and embarrassed, she pushed him away and quickly scooted to the other side. Her

face was as red as a tomato, “Are you crazy? I promised you to put on an act, but I never said you

could take advantage of me.”

This bastard! Taking advantage of her without any shame!

Julian rubbed his chin and he smiled maliciously, he then stood up and pulled out a drawer. He took out

the document that she signed this morning and gave it to her nonchalantly, “This is our wedding

agreement.”

He withdrew the document swiftly the moment she lowered her head. He raised his brow and said, “I

forgot, you couldn’t understand it.”

Sadie was furious, but she held it in. She wouldn’t have signed it if only she knew that was a wedding

agreement!

She felt a sharp pain in her heart thinking about Otto, who was coming back soon.

She wanted to be with him forever, for as long as she lived. But now, she didn’t have the right to do so

anymore.

“Let’s go down to have dinner.” Julian threw the document on the table, he smiled plainly and walked

away. He opened the door and left the room.

Sadie clenched her fist, she didn’t really want to stand up. She walked behind him with light footsteps.

This bastard, pervert… She mumbled as she walked down the stair. Suddenly, she could smell the food

and her stomach started to growl.

She didn’t eat anything since the morning and had several bags of drips in the hospital.

Her fever went down but her head still hurt. Her head felt swollen and she felt faint.

“Amina made some porridge, have some.” Julian sat down after washing his hands, he held the fork

and knife up elegantly. “Go shower and sleep after you eat. The driver will send you to school tomorrow

morning.”

Sadie washed her hand and sat down quietly.

Her mouth was dry. She was feeling quite hungry, but she couldn’t taste the anything when she ate.

She managed to finish the bowl of porridge. Julian put down the fork and knife and told Amina to come

over, “Notify Doctor Darius to come by. Her fever just went down, it might go up again.”

Amina smiled and nodded, she looked at Sadie lovingly and said, “Don’t worry Master Julian, I will take

good care of Lady Sadie.”

Julian stood up and he casually tussled Sadie’s hair. He turned and walked away, “I’m going to the

office.”

Sadie lowered her head and rolled her eyes when he wasn’t looking.

Julian got into the car and told Khalid to migrate Sadie’s bank account immediately tomorrow. He also

ordered Khalid to investigate who was the person who gave money to Dean Esme and told her to take

care of Sadie.

This person sent Sadie to the charity home personally but never contacted her even once for the last

six years. This person also never stayed in contact with the Chambers family, there had to be a reason

behind all this.

Khalid noted down what his boss told him to do and reminded Julian, “The Chambers family said that

Lady Sadie fell into the ocean when the cruise ship exploded. The rescue team couldn’t find her even

after a few days of searching.”

“That’s not the truth.” Julian laid his back on the chair and squinted his eyes, “I suspect that the Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Chambers family doesn’t know the truth either. Back then, Theo knew that Sadie could save my life and

he asked for 200 million from Cayden.”

“I will arrange some people to look into it.” Khalid rubbed his nose and didn’t say anything after that.

Cayden promised to pay the sum of money, but he didn’t do so in the end. He destroyed the Chambers

family’s business instead. Ultimately, Theo didn’t get a single pence and had to let Cayden take Sadie

away.

Everyone in City A knew about this. They talked a lot about the stunt that Julian pulled, and how Sadie

was a lucky one.

7 years after the incident, the Chambers family brought Sadie away when Julian was studying abroad.

The weird thing was that they never asked for any money this time, instead they sent them the news of

her death.

“Make them work faster,” said Julian as he rubbed his nose bridge. He took out Sadie’s phone,

unlocked it and promptly sent a message to Otto.

They would break up sooner or later, he should be the one to make it happen sooner.
