CHAPTER 44
ALPHA ROBIN'S POV
I was taken aback by her wild guess but I had to act like I was totally fine. Her instincts really shocked me. She was right about everything. It's so sad that I would never admit that to her. I didn't want anything of any sort to come between us. I was not going to allow it.
"You should never worry about Lola. You are the girl I have chosen to be with. I love you, not anyone else," I told her and she came to give me a hug, not breaking eye contact with me.
"I love you too, I love you very much. I was so jealous and insecure thinking that you could be out there with her but now that you have shown me that you care about me and you really love me, I think I will stop overthinking." She mentioned it and it was music in my ears.
I needed her trust now that I was going to keep Lola around. She should never know about this, until I come up with another way of trying to handle the situation.
"Now that you know my secret surprise, can I please go and finalise on the plans?" I requested.
"Yes of course. Sorry once again for ruining the surprise that you were carefully curating for me," She said.
"Don't worry, all is well. "I mentioned and she didn't look quite convinced.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Yes, I am sure," I told her with a smile playing on my lips.
I left the house after I tucked her in bed again. I hoped that she was going to rest .The Beta should better not come and bug her again. She needed her rest.
I wanted to go and start the romantic dinner preparation but it hit me that I had not confronted the Beta. I needed to make it clear that Anita was a no go zone. Since he was not on our side when it came to our relationship, I needed to immediately draw that boundary before it became a problem.
I took a left turn and headed to the pack headquarters and as usual I found him in his office, going through a document.
"Alpha," He stood up to bow as if he had not done anything wrong and I wanted him to cut that bullshit.
"Don't Alpha me, what is wrong with you?" I asked him, trying to control the anger that engulfed me.
"What do you mean?" He asked innocently as if he had not done anything wrong.
"You know very well I am staying with my girlfriend, why come to the place every time?" I asked.
"But, you know why I came. I needed us to discuss," He said, handing a sheet of paper to me but I didn't care.
"What is urgent there that could not wait?" I asked him.
"Sir, but we always discuss what's going on in the pack every third day of the week," He was always ready to defend his actions.
"Maybe that will change moving forward. We will discuss all that when I finally show up at the office. I don't want you to be coming to my quarters when you feel like it. That is no longer a man cave, I am there with my girlfriend and we both need our privacy," I made it very clear.
"With all due respect sir, can't you see that you are putting your selfish interest first before the pack?" He asked but I didn't care at this point. He was on a mission to challenge my authority and piss me off and I was not about to give him that much power.
"You should listen to what I say," I said.
"But..." He wanted to explain himself but I had to cut him short.

"You should listen to me!" It was no longer a request but an order.
I could see the way he looked at me, as if I had lost my mind but I honestly did not care.
I had worked so hard for this pack and it's about time that I gave myself that level of attention.
He had his doubts, I can't blame him. My past breakup was messy but people learn and grow from their mistakes. He cannot judge me over something that happened in the past. I was not going to allow that to happen.
I walked hastily to the field intending to go to the other house and organise a nice dinner for Anita when Lola came and hugged me from behind.
"You scared the hell out of me," I complained.
"Come on, I didn't mean to," She said.
"So what are you up to? Can I join you?" She asked innocently, making it hard for me to deny what she was asking of me.
" Actually, I don't know how to say this without offending you," I told her.
"Just tell me the truth. Lying to me will offend me even more," She said. I had lied to Anita earlier and I was almost caught up in the lie, therefore I decided to just tell the truth once and for all.
"I want to prepare something special for Anita. Please don't take it the wrong way, she had been through a lot and I want her to feel loved and appreciated," I revealed and honestly I didn't like the look on Lola's face. "Sorry, I didn't mean to break your heart, "I mentioned.

"No, it's fine. I appreciate you for actually telling me the truth. I do not take it for granted." She said.
"So, will you go with me? But honestly, you don't have to do this." I told her.
"No, I want to come. I want to spend time with you no matter what it is that we are doing," She said. "Are you sure?" I had to ask.
"Yes, I am sure," She said.
"Okay, great. Let's go," I told her.
"Can I ask you something?" She asked as we walked, holding hands.
66
Sure," I said.
"Please be honest with me. I want you to know your truth." She said.
"Okay, shoot," I told her.
"Why her? What is it about her that you like that you cannot get rid of easily?" She asked.
