Chapter 34
I looked at Carson and smiled, I couldn’t hold my excitement, One would think I was happy to play detective. I can’t lie, I am pretty good at this detective thing.
“Get me Yemora immediately” Carson commanded and two of the bodyguards dashed off to bring Yemora to us. After what seemed like an hour, She was brought to us. She was a tall lady, She had short brown hair and brown eyes. She was average-looking and she looked very innocent, No one could ever suspect her of such a crime. They held her by her arms and threw her to the floor. I was upset about how they were manhandling her.
“Hey, be careful now,” I said politely.
“You are Yemora?” Carson asked, And she looked around before bowing her head and nodding at the question.
“Are you okay?” I asked her Because she must have been hurt the way they threw her to the floor. I moved closer to where the bodyguards were standing intending to question them
“We caught her packing her bags and trying to escape,” One of the bodyguards said.
Before I could say anything else I heard sobbing sounds, All eyes turned to Yemora
“Why did you poison Valerie and You wanted someone else to take the blame for your atrocities?” I heard Carson’s enraged voice from behind. At this point, Yemora already started wailing and begging.
“I am so sorry, He made me do it, He said it would only make her sleep, He assured me she wouldn’t be harmed and He said he would make me rich, I am sorry please forgive me” Yemora admitted, followed by the gasping sounds from the rest of the workers.
“You all may leave now, thank you for your cooperation and time,” I said as each of the workers left.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“Stop all this blabbering, Who put you up to this?” Carson asked Yemora.
“He didn’t give me his name, But he was a middle-aged man. He had a big tummy and he wore glasses” Yemora said.
“So you did all these because of money? You accepted to harm a human being because of your greed?” I said as I walked up to where she was standing. She grabbed my leg as soon as I reached close enough for her to touch me
“Please I’m begging you, please I never wanted to harm you this badly, please forgive me” She begged and pleaded, Carson already stood up from my seat as he saw a quick move at grabbing my leg, I held my hand up telling him to worry and not to come close.
“You are forgiven, But we need the person who sent you to be punished,” I said as I freed my leg from her grip
“Be rest assured little rabbit, There is already a plan in progress” Carson said.
“Don’t call me that” I had to remind him that I am still not and will never be comfortable and I still wanted to leave his house.
“I must admit little rabbit, you did well today,” Carson said
“What did I just say about calling me little rabbit?” I said He gets on my last nerves.
“You will always be my little rabbit,” Carson said. He sauntered to where I was and held my chin. I tried to push him off but I fell instead.
I must have fallen hard because the next thing I saw when I opened my eyes was my room. I was lying down on the bed and Carson was still sitting comfortably beside me with a smile on his face.
“What happened?” I said
“I guess you ran out of juice after doing an incredible work at being a detective,” Carson said. I am sure he was trying to butter me up, But I mean I did a pretty good job. I am so glad I saved Janet, Speaking about Janet.
“Where is she?” I asked, As if he already knew who I was asking about.
“She is out of isolation and in her room now” Carson answered
“What about the other one?” I asked
“She is in isolation, She still needs to answer a few questions first and then take us to the place she met with him and they connived to take your life” Carson replied
“Can I come with you?” I mean I was the victim, He has to agree
“I don’t think you should,” Carson said
“Please” I insisted
“Very well then, If you insist” He agreed
“I will have to shower first, Have Janet come in please” I requested and shortly after he left, Janet came into my room, She still had a dead look on her face, She couldn’t even look at me, She couldn’t even smile, Why would she? she nearly lost her life because of me. I have hurt her and landed her in trouble many times than I intended.
We didn’t speak to each other, I just bathed and she readied my dress. When I was done, We got ready to leave the room and go down to meet up where Carson would be waiting for me. I turned to look at her before giving her the warmest hug I had ever given anyone. I felt tears slowly dripping down the shoulder of my dress as the fabric of the dress wasn’t thick.
“I am so sorry, It was never my intention” I apologized to her before pulling her gently away from my body. She wiped her tears and gave me a weak smile.
“It is nothing, Madame,” She said
When she looked at me I saw how red her eyes were and I smiled at her. We left the room and I met up with Carson.
“I am ready,” I said
He kept looking at me, I touched myself to see if I had something on my face and I used my tongue to trail my teeth, just in case. And I found nothing
“If they gave me a journal to write down what I thought about your beauty, I would return the journal and say your beauty is indescribable, it cannot be written down with mere words,” Carson said and I smiled hard, I had never been complimented like this before.
As we left the house, With Yemora in another car with Benson, It was just me and Carson in his car. We arrived at the place shortly and we all got down from the car.
“This is the place sir where he gave me the poison and we met up only on a few occasions,” Yemora said, I was looking at the place when I heard Carson speak up
“Thank you for your help,” Carson said
“I am so sorr-” I heard Yemora’s voice before it was followed by a gunshot and I turned and saw Yemora lying down in her pull of blood
“Arghhhhh” I screamed before I lost consciousness.
