Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Chapter 45

Natasha could not help but chuckle after hanging up.

It turned out that Xavier was right. That said, it was not all that surprising since Natasha had nothing to do with it in the first place.

She then left Jindale Laboratory.

When Zachary came out after her, he saw that she was getting into a cab.

Nancy followed his gaze and did not notice anything unusual. "What's wrong? Didn't y t you come to the lab to see me?"

"If I recall correctly, we've only met each other twice," Zachary replied. His tone and expression were cold, but Nancy did not seem to catch onto it.

She replied, "This is our third meeting, actually. I'm sure that we're going to see each other even more in the future."

Given her abilities, it would be no problem for her to stay at headquarters. But even so, she took the opportunity to be transferred away in order to get closer to him.

Zachary ignored her advances and headed straight to Foster Tower.

Nancy had always been a confident person. She was not so easily defeated by his indifferent attitude. "You'll see just how great I am one day!"

She turned around and saw the lab's director, Vincent Graham, staring at her with a wide smile. She awkwardly returned a smile of her own.

In truth, Nancy had only met Zachary twice, and they hardly talked to each other on both occasions.

But she had been rehearsing their encounters in her mind countless times, which made her seem rather familiar with Zachary when she interacted with him.

As a result, she had also created a false impression for everyone else in the lab. Vincent spoke up. "Ms. Blair, you know Mr. Foster? I happen to have an even better project that requires personnel. Would you like to take a look?"

Vincent was the newly appointed director of the lab. He was not old, but he was already balding. His creepy smile was nothing short of disgusting.

But now that Nancy had achieved her goal, she had no reason to refuse the offer.

Meanwhile, Julian was standing inside the office while looking at his toes. To the onlooking eye, he resembled a child being reprimanded. "Mr. Foster, I really had no idea that Ms. Bradley would contact Ms. Blair in private."

He wanted to explain himself some more, but he soon realized just how weak his own argument was as he spoke.

In the end, Zachary never replied to Julian and just motioned for him to leave.noveldrama

He could not exactly drop by the lab every day as doing so would surely give himself away.

As night fell, the scent of grilled chicken wings from a food truck became even more tempting.

Natasha gnawed on the grilled wings as she described what she saw to Xavier. "You're right. Mr. Foster really isn't that simple."

"Trust me! Zachary may not be involved in any scandals, but he's definitely someone out of your league," Xavier replied. He spoke with so much confidence and certainty that it made Natasha laugh.

"Then, what kind of man do you think would suit me instead?" she asked.

She had not been able to fully understand someone even after seven years, let alone someone she'd known for such a short amount of time.

"What about me?" replied Xavier as he leaned closer to her.

Natasha shoved a spicy wing into his mouth without hesitation. "There's a hospital nearby. Do you need me to bring you there for a checkup?"

The two of them had known each other for many years, and hearing him say something like that had genuinely caught her off guard.

"Forget it. You're not worthy enough for someone as amazing as me anyway," Xavier replied.
