Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 965

Maddie leaned on her hand, watching Chloe with a mischievous glint in her eye. "What if I'm just really into the real deal?" she teased.noveldrama

Chloe shot back with a playful grin, "Sorry, this one's unique and not up for grabs."

Connor sat back, observing the subtle sparring between the two women. Chloe's resolve made him happy, but the whole original-versus-knockoff chat left him feeling a bit odd. It was like he and Teddy, two grown men, were being sized up like handbags on display—totally unsettling.

Turning to Amelia, Connor said, "You should head back. Whatever's happening with Teddy, it's your call to handle it. I'm his boss, not his dad. If it gets too crazy, maybe the Andersons can take him home."

He had no intention of getting wrapped up in the drama. He had plans for a nice dinner with his wife at some fancy place.

Connor got up and walked over to Chloe. "Let's head out. I bet the little one's hungry too."

Chloe stood, ready to leave with Connor. It was a personal issue, and meddling wasn't their thing. Plus, they were more on Teddy's side emotionally anyway.

But as Chloe stood, something felt off. A sharp pain hit her stomach, followed by a warm sensation below.

Panic flickered in her eyes as she looked at Connor. "My stomach hurts."

Connor instantly knew something was wrong. "We need to get you to the hospital."

Maddie jumped up, her expression turning serious. "She's in labor! We've got to get her to the hospital, pronto!"

Wasting no time, Connor scooped Chloe up and headed out. "Make way, please! Coming through!"

People stepped aside, confused but cooperative.

Chloe was in intense pain, dizziness threatening to overwhelm her. Amelia led the way, and by the time they reached downstairs, Amelia had her car ready.

"Get in!"

Connor quickly settled Chloe in the car. Once inside, he directed, "Head to Central Hospital."

Just as he was about to call the head of obstetrics, Amelia cut in, "She's bleeding a lot; it's a placental abruption. Central's too far. Head to Riverdale."

Riverdale was a smaller hospital nearby. With no time to waste, Connor agreed.

They arrived at Riverdale Hospital in no time. Chloe was rushed into the ER, and the obstetrics team assembled swiftly.

Connor tried to follow but was stopped at the door. The suddenness of it all had him rattled. Everything had been fine, so why the sudden complication?

Despite his nerves, Connor kept it together. A doctor came out midway to reassure them-Chloe's condition wasn't critical. The placental

abruption was less than a third and since the cervix was already dilated, the baby was almost here. No C-section needed.

Connor finally exhaled with relief. Riverdale didn't allow partners in the delivery room, so he waited outside, a bundle of nerves and hope.

He called the Shaw family. Thirty minutes later, Ruby, Neil, the Shaw brothers,

and Cassie were all there, waiting outside the delivery room.

Ruby and Neil had flown back from Luxembourg just in time, knowing Chloe was due any day. Everyone was on edge, pacing restlessly. Updates trickled out from inside, assuring them all was goingo smoothly. t

Maddie stayed put, quietly waiting outside.

Soon enough, the delivery room doors swung open. A nurse came out, cradling a newborn.

Connor rushed forward, anxious. "How's my wife?"

The nurse beamed at him. "Mr. Connor, relax. Both mom and baby are doing great."
