Chapter 65
Unice’s PoV
Surprisingly, I fell asleep again. When I looked outside, it was already dark; I believe it was evening at the time. I look at the television, and it’s turned off; it appears that Tom or Justin came here and saw me sleeping on the sofa.
I got up from my seat and heard Ace’s voice in the kitchen, so I went over there; when I looked at him, he looked at me and smiled while dribbling some wine.
“You are awake. You fall asleep while watching TV. That’s what Tom said to me,” Ace said, holding a wine glass, and I didn’t see the others, who were Tom and Justin.
“When did you return home?” I approached him and sat beside him on a chair.
“I’m already finished with my paperwork, which is why I got home early,” Ace explained as he sipped from his wine glass.
“What are you doing drinking wine? Are you all right?” I inquired, and he placed the glass of wine on the kitchen table.
“I’m afraid if I get arrested, I won’t be able to drink this wine,” Ace said, leaving me speechless.
“I told you not to think about it. We’ll overcome if that happens,” I assured him, and he looked at me before touching my face.
“It’s been almost a week; have you felt anything in your body? You haven’t taken the pregnancy test yet, have you?” Ace inquired, and I nodded.
“Yes, I haven’t taken the test yet; it needs to be two weeks before I take a pregnancy test,” I explain as he finishes his wine.
“I’m going to shower first, and then we’ll go to the rooftop after I’m done.” Ace said I’m not sure why, but I will follow him.
He got up and walked over to his room, and I decided to clean the kitchen table and wash the glass he was using. After cleaning and washing the wine glass he used, I placed it in the glass rack. I looked outside and saw Tom and Justin talking. I thought they returned to their base, but Ace let them stay here to protect us.
I decided to go to the rooftop, and when I got there, I sat down and took out my phone from my shirt pocket to look through social media. I was caught off guard to see a piece of news about Edward being sought and Christian having a video where he promises to pay anyone who sees his father.
I believe he was unaware that his father had visited Ace Mansion; I needed to show this to Ace after he finished showering, and I knew we were going to talk here on the rooftop; after a few minutes, I noticed Ace came up here and approached me before sitting down.
“I thought you went to your room. I said we’d go here together at the rooftop,” Ace exclaimed, and I giggled.
“Am I going to be punished for coming here first?” When I asked him, he looked at my phone.
“It appears you are seeing the news about Edward; I know that as well because I saw it on social media earlier,” Ace grumbled as I scrolled up to show him the video of Christian.
“I believe he intends to stalk you because you are the first to be suspected,” I explained, and he laughed.NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
“I don’t care if he comes; I’ll kill him if it’s necessary.” Ace declared that and would do it again. I looked up at the sky, taking a deep breath.
“I don’t want our child to go through what you’ve gone through.” I pointed to him, and he took my hand in his.
“Neither do I want it, and I know you’ll be the best mother if it turns out you’re pregnant,” Ace comforted, and I smiled, wanting to make me feel better.
“If I am caught, you must be strong because you will handle my company and take over. I don’t want you to be concerned about me because I’m strong, and if someone bullies me in prison, I can handle it,” Ace exclaimed; I know he’s strong, but there’s a limit to strength.
“You know there’s a limit to how strong you can be; you need to be aware of that,” I said to Ace, and I was surprised when he kissed my hand despite my warning.
“I will, my beautiful wife, regardless of what happens to us,” Ace teases me by putting his arm around my shoulder while I rest my head on his shoulder and gaze at the full moon.
“I want to photograph that beautiful full moon,” Ace insisted, and I handed him my phone.
“Use my phone, and I’ll send you the picture,” I suggested to him, and instead, he shook his head and picked up his phone from his pocket.
He takes his arm off my shoulder, and I’m off his shoulder as well. Took a picture of the full moon, and we both smiled as he did so.
“What are you going to do for that picture?” I inquired of him.
“I’m just going to save it in my phone’s gallery; aren’t you going to take a picture as well?” Ace was perplexed.
“Why don’t you send me the picture you take so I can save it?” I suggested.
“You should take a picture, too, because this photo I’m taking is significant to use,” Ace insisted, and I just let it go and took a picture of the full moon.
After that, I shared it on social media. Soon after, I noticed Zoey liked my post, and my other social media friends did the same. Ace’s hand touched my cheek, so I put down my phone and looked at him.
“Why do I get the impression you’re not coming back to me when you go to jail?” I questioned him, and he did not respond.
“You’re already scaring me if you don’t answer my question,” I stuttered, and he rose from his seat.
“Let’s go back downstairs,” Ace attempted to change the subject, but I remained seated.
“What would we do if we went downstairs? There’s nothing to do because it’s already night,” I explained, and he turned around.
“I’m going to smoke; you can come and go as you please.” Ace was stressed as he walked out.
I pouted, which is why I stood up and went down; I saw Ace leave the house and decided to go to his room. I walk into his room, lay down on the bed, and choose to play a game on my phone.
While I was playing, I heard footsteps and saw Ace come in. I believe he finished smoking after a few minutes. I’m just staring at him, and he’s staring back.
“Are you playing phone games? I’m sorry if I needed to smoke for a while,” Ace inquired as he approached and sat beside me.
“Yes, I’m playing phone games. It’s fine if you walk out and smoke outside,” I said to him, continuing to play on my phone.
“I’m sorry if I didn’t respond to what you said to me; we don’t know what will happen, so don’t think about me not returning,” Ace apologized, and I pouted once more.
“What’s the point of pouting again? Is there something I said that you don’t want to hear?” Ace was curious.
“It’s nothing, let’s just forget what I said because you said we don’t know what’s going to happen next,” I told him, and he lay down on the bed and picked up my phone.
“How come you took my phone? Are we going to have sex?” I asked him, and he turned me around to face him.
“We’re not going to have sex, but we can if you want.” Ace smiled as he laughed.
“You are correct. I don’t want sex right now because I’m observing myself.” I uttered to him, and he unexpectedly hugged me tightly.
