Chapter 337
Paulina had soon become head over heels for Jarvis. Whether they were on set or off, she was practically glued to Jarvis, following him around like a shadow.
One evening, as folks were clocking out, Eileen overheard a couple of crew members gossiping behind the scenes.
"Ms. Paulina's dragging Ms. Lopez to see Mr. Dave again."
"What's up with Paulina? Think she's playing Cupid for Lopez and Dave?"
"Doesn't look like it to me. See, Paulina and Dave are up front, chatting up a storm, and there's Lopez, trailing behind like a third wheel-practically invisible. Doesn't seem like matchmaking to me."
Eileen was speechless.
"Shh, cut it out. Here comes Ms. Lopez. Don't let her hear."
Too late. She heard everything.
Blame her supersonic hearing.
The shooting for "Feathers of Fate" had been smooth sailing so far.
Carrol had been in such high spirits lately that her hair seemed to sprout a few new strands each day, and her bun seemed to reach new heights each morning!
The happier Carrol was, the better the mood on set. And with Paulina and Jarvis looking like the real deal, the soundstage was buzzing with joy all day long!
Sadly, the good times didn't last forever. After a month, the indoor scenes were wrapped up.
It was time to move on to location shots.
Shooting on location was tough. Their destination was a jungle right on the border of the fictional land of Vietnam.
In that jungle, they would shoot intense fight scenes, wire work, mountainous backdrops, and scenes with animals. Yes, animals!
After all, "Feathers of Fate" was steeped in mythological elements, complete with fairies galore!
Even though they could CGI the big beasts, there was nothing like the real thing for scenes where animals crawled around, interacting with the leads. The flight from Seahaven to the Capital of Vietnam was only a few hours.
But the journey from the Capital's airport to the remote filming location was another story. It took the entire crew nearly three days, lugging all their equipment, to trickle into the selected site.
The accommodations were far from luxurious. They were in the middle of the woods, so there were no hotels-just rented homes from the locals, with the most rustic of bathrooms to boot.
On the second day, Paulina fell victim to the change of environment, battling both ends of the digestive revolt. Eileen checked her over and said, "Nothing serious. Take some medicine and rest for the day, you'll be fine." Paulina, looking like she was on death's door, pleaded from her bed, "Don't let Jarvis see me like this."
Eileen glanced at her and quipped, "Do you love him more than your health already?"
Paulina didn't bother speaking to her.
Stepping out of Paulina's room,
Eileen bumped into Jarvis, who was
chatting with the stagehands.

Seeing her, he asked, "Ms. Lopez, how's Ms. Paulina doing?"
Eileen replied, "She's got love to keep her alive. She won't kick the bucket."
With a helpless sigh, Jarvis clarified, "You've got the wrong idea about us too, huh? We're not like that. I have a lot of respect for Ms. Paulina, she's a senior in the industry."
Eileen paused, scratching her head, "She's actually not that bad."
Jarvis just shook his head and didn't pursue the conversation further.
The next day, contrary to Eileen's prediction, Paulina wasn't any better.
She was still down for the count on her sickbed.
Confused, Eileen checked her pulse again and asked about her condition. When she found out Paulina had taken her medicine hours early, she exclaimed, "I told

you to take it at nine, why on earth did you take it at six?"
Paulina replied weakly, "I wanted to catch the virus off-guard, stage a surprise attack."
Barely holding back laughter, Eileen said, "Then why didn't you take it all at once, go for a full-on assault?"
Paulina just stared, silent.
Eileen stood up, hands on hips, "Or maybe you should've played dead, pull a reverse psychology on the virus." Paulina just stared at her, startled.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
Eileen went on, "Better yet, take rat poison, fight toxin with toxin, and take the virus down with you. That'll show it!"
Paulina was at a loss for words.
Hugging her head in terror, Paulina quickly begged for mercy, "Stop, stop, I got it! I'm sorry!"
Eileen tossed the medicine box onto the table, shouting, "Next time you ignore doctor's orders, you better write your own will!"
