Chapter thirty two
There are two types of people in this world. People who don't understand the meaning of stories, poems, messages, and riddles, and people who do.
I hate to admit it, but I'm one of these people who don't understand them. Hidden meanings in any kind of message can be happy and joy, or sad and depressing. It can only have one of the two emotions.
The happy and joy can result in feelings of pure joy. It can give someone a good day or feelings that they feel wanted. Over excited about something or laugh it off at a joke it made.
The sad and depressing can result to crying, soreness or numbness. It'll make people feel awful about themselves. Bring back old or past memories of something tragic stories that happened in their life. It can also bring fear of what the meaning actually means.
For me, when I found out what the message I received really meant, it fell in the category of sad and depressing, more like fear.
I didn't find this out until later in the day after receiving it three days ago. I've told the rest of my friends about it at lunch and they were just as shocked as I was.
Like I said, I didn't find out about the meaning until later that day. And let me tell you, it's shocking.
Let's start from the beginning, shall we?
-
Getting out of Sabe's car, the four of us head into the school. It felt like any other day here in Cooperstown New York.
Walking to my locker, I get ready for my first class. Out all the days this year, I've got very few days where it's normal and no interruptions of some sort. As in no one chasing me, someone getting injured.
Grabbing my books for the first couple classes, I head over to my English class.
This morning, I feel tired or my energy has been drained and I don't know why.
Maybe from the hardworking at school and at training. All I feel is just sleeping in my cozy bed. All weekend I trained even though Friday's and Saturday's I'm supposed to work.
I guess for the upcoming "war."
My dad's been on me to train harder and won't give me a break until late at night. We train from noon till eight. Only a five minute break. Now that my not seem like a lot 'cause it isn't. I only get one of those so it really seems like I've got no break.
And then at school with all of the homework and tests and stuff. It just tires me out. The only reason I wanted to train is for protection. Not actually kill, but dad doesn't think so.
Which sucks for me.
I seat where I like to seat since I'm one of the few students who are here on time. Getting my things organize for the class I almost fall asleep while doing so.
My energy is so drained that I can't even place my things properly. All I want is sleep.
Class started and I tried listen to what he's saying, but I can't.
Once class ended, I headed to my next one until lunch.
When lunch came around I didn't bother going to get my lunch, I grabbed the books for after and head to the cafeteria. I find an empty table and sit.
It's not long before my eyes closed and I'm asleep.
"Sarah, get up!"
I jumped awake from someone waking me. "What?"
"Your asleep, during lunch," Kathrine points out the obvious.
"Congratulations Sherlock, you've solved another case," I sarcastically say.
"How come your tired, didn't you get enough sleep?" Lennix asks.
"Yes, but my dad's been working me up for training."
"That's got to be hard," Sabe says.
"It is."
In the corner of my eye, I saw Kathrine doing something, a crossword. That hogs my memory and I immediately ask her about my message.
"Hey, Kathrine. Your good at solving riddles. Mind solving this one for me?"
She looks at me weird before nodding. I hand her my phone with the text and she reads it.
"Oh my fucking god! What the hell is this?"
Lennix sees what she's saying and reads it as well. Of course his face is shocked as well.
"To answer your questions, I don't know who sent it, how they got my number, and I've received this on Friday. I don't know what it means."
"Okay, send this message to me and I'll figure it out."
I took my phone back and sent it to her. Within a second, we hear a ding which means she got it once she checked.
"I'll hopefully have it done by the end of this week, hopefully. I always wanted a little challenge."
Kathrine's food with puzzles and riddles like that and always knew what the answer is. So hopefully this will keep her busy.
The rest of the day dragged like a snail. By the end of the day, I'm tuckered out. I got my usual ride home from Sabe.
Thanking him, I left inside. I did a little bit of homework before making my way upstairs to my bed. Since my dad's our once again, I have the whole house to myself. In case he came home early, I left a little note on the counter for him.
As soon as my head hit the pillow, I'm out like a light.

I woke up to the sound of my phone going off. Reaching out lazily for my phone, I accidentally smacked it to the ground.
"Dammit," I mumble.
Reaching to the ground, I pick up my phone not caring who I answer to.
"Hello," my voice is rasping from just getting up.
"Sarah, you wouldn't believe what this message could mean."
I jolt up in bed thinking how Kathrine was to solve the message I got.
"What does it mean?"
"All I could get was a bit of it, not the whole thing. The line that says, 'be prepare for what will come,' it means that something terrible will happen. How I know that is I was watching the Lion King while figuring this out and the song, "Be Prepared," came on. So it means something dangerous will happen."
"The war," I mumble.
Why didn't I figure it out before. It means the war!
"The what?"
"The war. I ran into a vampire at the Chase and he said there's war."
"Yeah, I remember that. I forgot about it, though."
"Anyways, you said you figured out more?"
"Yes, but only the part that says, 'In the meantime, be careful whom you believe.' I think, and I'm not positive, that it could mean that someone you trust or know could be . . . Lying or such."
"So your saying is do not trust people now?"
"Yes. But I could be wrong."
"What about the other two?"
"I could not figure it out. This is harder than I thought."
I got up from my bed and went downstairs to get a glass of milk. My throat is so dry that I had to clear my throat.
"Well thanks for trying. At least you've got half of it."
"Yeah, well I've got to go. Just phoned to tell you."
"Okay, bye."
I hung up thinking of what she said. I don't know how I didn't see this before. Be prepare for the war, don't always believe in people which could result to lying.
For the rest of the night, I finished up my homework and tried to think of possible hidden messages in the text.
I feel like it's trying to warn me about something. Why am I the only one who got this text and not from anyone else?
I have so many questions that I want answers too and this thing says that they'll be answered in a nick of time.
The only thing is, is that I don't want them answered in a nick of time, I want them answered now.
I also tried to brainstorm who'd sent me this and how they got my number.
The only people who have my number is my friends and my parents, plus my aunt and uncle. No one else has it and I'm pretty sure they they won't or have give anyone else my number.
Blade Ramose only has my email and who knows how he got that.
In this town, it's not easy getting someone's number like any other town.
This really is a mystery to be solved.
