Chapter 10
Claire’s POV
“Come.” He helped me step out of the car when we came to a stop but I still managed to stumble even though I wasn’t wearing heels.
I couldn’t help feeling ridiculously self-conscious whilst he led me….probably to the airplane. He maintained a firm grip on my arm whilst numerous questions ran through my mind. Were the people at the airport watching me ? Of course they were watching me……who wouldn’t stare at a blindfolded girl being led away by some guy.
Oh God ! They were probably thinking that I was some kind of s*x slave to this man….well, technically that was true….but not entirely, I was nobody’s slave…the thing was, I didn’t want other people to know about my doings.
“This side of the airport is empty.” He uttered, suddenly making me aware of his proximity to me. Pulling myself out of my wayward thoughts, I managed to just barely nod at him as I tugged on his arm to support myself.
The steps which I guessed were the airplane’s door seemed to take forever to climb. And my uncoordinated body and spectacular clumsines wasn’t helping at all.
“Sit.” He commanded, his tone and his one-worded remark irked me to no ends. Once we were inside the plane, his hands pushed down on my shoulders until I was sat on the plush, airplane seat. From the feel of it, I could tell it was first class.
“I’m not a dog so stop talking to me like I am one !” I said through gritted teeth, annoyed of his attitude and of this goddamn blindfold.
I felt the air shift from casual to tense in the span of a second. I was about to yell at him again but my mouth shut up of its own accord when I heard some shuffling and then the sound of him taking the seat in front of me.
“You’re right, I shouldn’t talk to you like a dog.”
“Thank you !” I remarked, mentally patting myself on the back for making him accept what I was saying was right.
“You’re a bitch after all.” He slightly chuckled when I snorted disapprovingly in return to his reply.
“You son of a…..” I started but stopped mid-sentence when I heard him clear his throat.
“You can take off your blindfold now.” He calmly stated, as cool as a cucumber whilst my heart went raving mad inside my chest. “And also, brace yourself for the takeoff.” His tone
suggested that he was asking me to brace myself for something else entirely. Finally psychology pays off!
With trembling hands, I reached up to untie the knot behind my head. It was a bit of a struggle because my hands just wouldn’t stop quivering.
I had to blink a couple of times to see clearly after the blindfold slipped off my eyes and dropped onto my lap. My vision changed from blurry to crystal clear and that is when my eyes fell on him.
His deep green-blue eyes had me trapped. I was completely and utterly in awe of him. I mean staring wide-eyed, mesmerized kind of awe. The kind of awe a princess fell into when she met her Prince Charming. The only difference was that he might’ve been a Prince Charming but I certainly was no jeweled princess.
Of course the man I’d been expecting to be at least over 40 and kind of bald and ugly-looking turned out to be the most beautiful-looking man I’d ever seen and he definitely couldn’t be over 30.
He was too damn good-looking to just be called handsome. His dark pitch black hair paired with his gorgeous greenish blue eyes made him appear even more striking.
I realized the fact that I was ogling him but I just couldn’t stop.
His custom-cut black shirt went great with his pale white skin which had cuff links at the sleeve ends, giving him an even more sophisticated look. His beautiful, chiseled face, his long, muscular arms, his lean body…..everything about him was perfect. Even though I hadn’t seen him shirtless, I could tell that there lay nothing but muscle underneath that shirt of his.
HE WAS A F*****G GREEK GOD !
Wait….I recognized him ! I just couldn’t remember from where.
“Are you done staring ?” He snapped, looking at me pointedly.
“Um, I….uh,” Great, I can’t even form a coherent sentence ! Congratulations to my dumb self. I’ve utterly and completely made a fool out of myself.
Before he or I could say anything, the plane’s speaker buzzed and the pilot’s voice came through, asking all the passengers to fasten their seat belts. You see, the funny thing was that me and the insanely gorgeous man sat in front of me were the only two passengers on this first-class plane.
“I…,” Come on Claire, pull yourself together. I was silently begging my tongue to not stutter this time. “Is this your private plane ?” I finally got it out.
“Apparently.” He nonchalantly replied. “And you need to fasten your seat belt.” His undertone suggested that he was talking down to a 5 year old child.
But dang it ! He was right about the seat belt thing. I could hear the plane’s engine revving up for take off.
But I first desperately needed answers to some of my questions. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
“This plane must’ve cost you millions !” I gushed, looking around to the most luxurious plane I’d ever seen in my life.
I heard him utter some profanities before he suddenly got up and fastened my seat belt for me. I gulped when I felt his hand on my waist and then in the flash of a second, they were gone. He shot me an indecipherable look which was somewhere between deep anger and need before he settled back into his own seat and fastened his own seat belt.
